I used this company to help me move into my new house back in July. There were two employees (who I believe to also be the owners) Sean and Nick. They were on-time, professional, and seemed to really care about my belongings (they were very careful with my furniture - some of which has been in my family for multiple generations). They were honest about being a newer company, and I felt that because of this, they went above and beyond to gain my business in the future. Anyways, the move went great and I was really impressed with these two. Last week, my neighbor (in a not-so-joking manner) recommended that I hire someone to clean up my front yard a bit ( the previous owners never did any maintaining of the land. Lots of weeds / overgrown bushes / dead grass.) . I called a few landscaping companies but the prices they were offering were ridiculous.... I remembered the Brains and Brawns guys telling me they were willing and able to do odd jobs, so I gave them a call. Nick offered to come check out my property free of charge and was able to work within my budget to fix my property up to my neighbor's standards (Him and Sean actually both showed up for the consultation, good to see them again). He even broke the pricing out for me so I understood why I was being charged what I was being charged. I went to Charlottesville Saturday morning for a football game, and by the time I was home in the evening, they had trimmed all bushes, aerated and fertilized my grass, removed low hanging tree limbs (hanging into said neighbor's yard), and weeded all of my mulch beds. The yard looks great, the neighbor is happy, and I didn't get price gauged which I feel like all of the other "we do it all" companies were doing. I am currently having conversations with them to have my porch sanded and re-painted. One day soon, Google will have to make an entire book of reviews for Brains and Brawn. Yes, they are that great! Nick Emmons and his crew just can't be beat. He is on top of every appt and even texts when they're on their way. Punctuality is golden to them and to their customers....myself being over the moon happy with them. My yard had been fairly destroyed by a teen I'd given the chance to do all yard work for the summer. Never again. Prior to that, my yard was pristine, but after, a disaster. Then I found Nick. The fix for my yard was certainly not a 1-day job even with excavating done, but boy, it was worth every single cent of his competitive prices. My grass is so lush and beautiful now that the urge to drop to the ground and roll from one end to the other is overwhelming. He works right along with his crew for hours. He does exactly what you want/need and gives suggestions where needed. Nick is the most genuine, gracious and honest business owner I've ever met, you can count on him and you can believe I'm not letting him go. Ever. You won't, either. Acting on short notice, Sean quickly assembled a cost effective and efficient plan to solve our challenge to move furniture from Richmond to Alexandria, VA. Despite its awkward size and weight, he and Omar easily uncrated the items and moved them into our home. The business transactions were equally forthright and I found their approach to customer service highly refreshing...not always a common feature. For the past 2 years, we have used this crew to clear out the MANY leaves that accumulate on our property each fall.
