Thailand has been on our "bucket list" and being invited to a Thai wedding provided the incentive to make Thailand our next international destination. From the moment we contacted Irene, we knew were would be in good hands (was there any doubt?)! After providing responses to Irene's questionnaire regarding our interests and desires about Thailand (along with several emails, text messages, and phone conversations), she provided an excellent itinerary that included flights, private tours, private drivers to and from airports, superb accommodations, and expert guides. During our 5 nights in Bangkok, Irene curated a centrally located hotel in Bangkok, an informal food tour in Chinatown, and an exceptionally knowledgeable local guide to introduce us to the some of the most historically important temples in Bangkok and Ayutthaya. During our first 4 nights in Chiang Mai, Irene curated a modern-styled hotel minutes away from the legendary Night Market (a must experience). We had the pleasure of touring Chiang Mai and the hills of Doi Inthanon National Park with an experienced and friendly local guide. There is no substitute to having a local guide to provide insights and knowledge about Thai culture, food, and history. Additionally, Irene had arranged a private cooking class where we prepared 7 Northern Thailand dishes, all delicious!! Our last 3 nights were spent at the Onsen at Moncham, a Japanese-themed retreat in the mountains before returning home. Although Irene provided many options for our destinations/events and hotels, our itinerary was completely customizable and ultimately, our choice. Whether you want to experience Thailand on the beaten or unbeaten path, but with comfort, reliability, and service, let Irene at Travel Darlings handle your needs!

Working with an agenda combining golf, architectural touring, fine dining, the arts, and the beachfront, each stop allowing time for shopping and people-watching. Guides with locally based expertise tailored each expedition according to our interests and moods, from a unique vista overlooking San Sebastian to a just-off-the-boat lunch of turbot and sashimi-grade tuna. Our guide for Biarritz presented us with 120 photos highlighting our day of exploration. At the Dali Museum in Figueres, where the artwork is presented with little explanation, our guide provided deep background context, significantly elevating my appreciation of the artist. Irene secured prime time reservations at 3 Michelin starred restaurants including Besta in Barcelona which was the favorite among our group of 4. For lighter specialty fare, we enjoyed pintxos and vermouth in outdoor cafes in Bilbao and San Sebastian, and tapas in Barcelona and Girona. Our stay at The Artist Hotel in Bilbao overlooked the Guggenheim Museum and the river, where a lavish breakfast was served in an open-air setting on the top floor. The hotel featured artistic appointments echoing the style of Gehry and other mid-century masters. Each of the five golf courses combined challenging layouts with views of the surrounding hills and neighboring cities. Highlights included Real Sociedad de Golf de Neguri, aptly called "The Torrey Pines of Bilbao" and Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, where the huge, sculpted greens provided welcome relief from a profusion of sand traps. The highlight of the trip for me was a Flamenco performance by well-known stars of the craft (and an exceptionally gifted guitar player) at Casa Sors, with a cozy night-club setting inside a guitar museum. Irene provided us with a detailed (and colorful) itinerary, creative suggestions, expert planning, and direct communication throughout the trip which once again added to our confidence at just the right moments!

One is time. Planning an amazing trip takes forever and I just didn't have enough time to dedicate to it while I was planning my wedding. The second reason is the VIP perks that Sarah gets through her connections, that I wouldn't have been able to get if I had booked the trip myself. At each hotel where we arrived on our honeymoon we received an upgraded room with the cutest notes and gifts congratulating us! I've never received special treatment like this before while traveling and it was definitely because of Sarah's connections in Hawaii. Overall it was our dream honeymoon and I wouldn't change a thing. The incredibly detailed itinerary she designed for us was flawless and every step of the way our expectations were exceeded - and since you only get one honeymoon, expectations were high!! My husband and I felt like Sarah really took the time to get to know us and personalize every aspect of the trip which is what made it so special for us. Beyond booking the best tours that she hand-picked for us (snorkeling, hiking, and zip lining), she also recommended fabulous restaurants and sent a detailed list of "local's tips." In the end working with Foray felt more like having a personal travel concierge who knows the destination inside and out. For the investment that you're going to make for your trip, it's an absolute no-brainer to pay the little bit extra for Foray's expertise! You can just feel the positive energy and passion when you begin talking to Sarah about your trip. I can honestly say that we're friends now, and can't wait to see the magic she whips up for our adventure next year.

SuperHubs and I just returned from a two-week Christmas + New Year's holiday in Thailand, all…read morearranged by Stacy at Edge of Wonder. This was our first experience using a travel agent and honestly, we initially started down this path out of pure exhaustion... Having worked as a producer for Discovery Travel Media for years, I was one of those people who always felt I "had to do it on my own". Even if I REEEAAALLLYYY didn't want to... Like when I planned a two-week trip for 10 people to six stops in Sicily for my mother's 60th birthday. **SIGH** But things are different now, dammit. SuperHubs and I have SUPER stressful jobs in tech. Life sucks. The world might be ending soon. We spent most of 2017 gasping for air, trying to stay afloat at work and in life. Worrying about deadlines, the economy, nuclear war... WHO HAS TIME TO GET ON TRIPADVISOR AND RESEARCH HOTEL REVIEWS? Good god, save us from all these trivial choices so we can concentrate on building our bomb shelter! Around August, I decided we HAD to get away (if we survived 2017). But there was simply NO WAY we could possibly plan the kind of vacation we needed on our own. And so I set out in search of the mythical "travel agent" to help us... And that's how I found Stacy and Edge of Wonder. Everything people have written about her and EoW here is true. She planned us the PERFECT vacation and I didn't. have. to do. ANYTHING. No joke! It was exactly what we wanted. She was communicative in putting it all together, super organized with all our documentation, friendly and patient (even when I freaked out at the last minute over rain in the forecast - almost making me believe she could ACTUALLY make the weather better for us if need be). The itinerary and the service she arranged for us was top notch, from the moment we landed in Thailand until we stepped on the plane home. We loved our hotels, our guides, not a single hiccup in transportation... It was all seamless and totally us. Even the little bit of rain that finally did arrive was timed just right - at this point, I'm SURE that was her doing. While I was floating in the Andaman Sea on our last day, totally truly chillaxed, I closed my eyes and tried to send her a virtual hug. I hope she got it. So if you're wondering if travel agents still exist in the Age of Expedia and what the hell they do... This - they do this: They let you ACTUALLY RELAX WHEN YOU GO ON VACATION. Thank you, Stacy, and Edge of Wonder!

My previous travel agent told me that there was no cruise during the dates I could travel with my kids before school began. I asked the same question to Deb and she found a cruise that departed from Anchorage and perfectly fit our needs. If she could do what others could not then I knew this was someone really good. She has travelled extensively and lived in many places so she has a good sense of what to do. I am currently planning a trip to Europe and she is actively helping me even though she is on an extended vacation there right now. She sent this email to me today: "I don't do this for the money, but for the people and relationships and the joy I get out of sending clients out to collect memories they hold for the rest of their lives. Sounds cheesy, but it's really true. :)" She loves her work and it shows in her enthusiasm. I highly recommend her!
