If you've…read morenever used a person to plan a vacation, it is worth it as I get so much more out of my trips now! The trips we went on were multiple stops in Europe (London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin). We got in so much and stayed in amazing places. When my partner originally suggested that we go on a trip to Europe, I was concerned that I would have to do tons, and tons are planning to get a lot out of it. We had so many amazing adventures! And I barely had to do anything. Highly suggest if you ever wanted to do a multi jump trip, do it! Our second trip was to Iceland with my parents as well so it was great having to only worry about my parents inability to pack well and my mom and her new hip (yeah, it was interesting timing. She recovered well but it was still new hip) and not about the travel or such. We had a private guide as well. (sidenote, since I never tried going to Iceland without a guide not personal experience but, one of my moms doctors mentioned that they went to Iceland, but it was kind of scary because they were on this one lane Road and they said really scary.... When they suggest a guide, take a guide. It just takes a lot of the worry out.) When things went sideways they were very responsive and helped get things fixed quick. Would use again. For the hotels and such we did confirm the prices and they were in line so no weird pricing issues for us. We heard of scams so just saying we did compare so we wanted to share our vetting.

Irene has given this to me six times. I have played a song written four thousand years ago on ancient instruments in Heraklion. I have sailed the same waters as Odysseus. I have touched the Pyramids of Giza and travelled back into time experiencing ancient Egypt, and sailed on the Nile. I have climbed the mountains of Lake Como and touched the sky. I have swum in secret swimming coves in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. I have gazed upon the face of Medusa in the cistern of Istanbul, and survived to tell the tale. I have been to one paradise after another in Elounda, Hurghada, and Bodrum. I have made meals with families and chefs, and dined on ambrosia and in palaces. Irene won't just take you places, she will open your eyes to the wonder of this world, lift your spirits, and show you how to fly. This is why I go to Irene when my life needs elevation. She has taken me to Crete, Athens, Delphi, Milan, Belagio, Venice, Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada, Saint Petersburg, Istanbul, and Bodrum. And now, she is helping me deliver magic to my daughter and her fiancé, as it is only Irene that I trust to create for the one most precious to me. Whatever your dreams, bring them to Irene, and step through the door she summons.

Both my husband and I have very busy schedules, we did not have time to do the planning ourselves, we needed a travel agent to do it for us. We clearly expressed it to Rosie. First red flag was on our first phone call. Our expectation for this call was that the travel agent would spend this call gathering information from us and asking questions about what we wanted this trip to be. Instead, after the initial couple of general questions, she started looking at prices of the hotels on her computer while we were on the phone and telling us what they were. After the first 15 minutes of this, we tried to steer her into what we thought the main purpose of the call was, but she would jump from one topic to the next and to the other and then back to looking at hotel prices again. It felt like she could not organize her thought process. Finally, after 45 minutes of being on the phone and being exhausted from a lot of jumping around and not being able to communicate to the agent in the organized manner, we decided to end the call with the agreement that we would communicate by email. Rosie started looking for the airfair for us. Her prices were very high and the flights she kept offering were at a very inconvenient hours - in the middle of the night or very early in the morning or with very long layovers that would make the flight unnecessarily long. We explained to her that we prefer more comfortable times and flights since it was going to be our vacation. That did not change anything. After a lot of back and forth, we felt a lot of stress and pressure where she would say that there was nothing else she could find from her wholesaler. Feeling between the rock and a hard place, we ended up going on-line and looking for tickets ourselves. We found a very good price on Priceline, 35% less expensive that her price with comfortable hours and flights. We told her and she was OK with us purchasing the tickets on our own. Now, we thought that the rest of the trip - hotels and organizing the itinerary would be fun and easy. Boy, were we mistaken. Rosie gave us an approximate/1st draft itinerary with some hotel suggestions. Being first time to the Middle East, we had questions about the itinerary and we did not like some of the hotels that she proposed. It would take her several days to respond to each email, and in her response she would ignore half of our questions. We had to send follow up emails, she would not respond for several days, then respond with half of the answers again. That was about the itinerary. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, entertainment recommendations, walkable streets where we could walk around in the evening, she would not know the answers at all. Her answer was "The information that I have is old and outdated, you can get this information from your hotel." Really? isn't it your job, as a travel agent, to have an updated information? Isn't this why we needed a travel agent so we don't have to scramble for this information when we are in a foreign country, not speaking the language. It was back and forth, we were running out of time, it was getting close to our trip time, we were not making any progress. She would not care about our time, she did not care about the information that we asked for. After 1.5 months, we felt that we did not accomplish anything, we did not get passed that first draft of the itinerary and unsuitable hotel recommendations. She did not complete a single thing for our trip. The only item that we had after working with Rosie for 1.5 months was the plain tickets that we purchased on our own. After depleting all our patience and being completely stressed out, we had to find another travel agent. Fortunately, he did a great job for us and we ended up having a great trip. As far as Rosie is concerned, even though she did not get anything done for our trip, she refused to refund the $300 fee that we paid her to prepare our trip. We believe that Rosie is completely disorganized and lacks knowledge in the travel industry. She indeed has outdated information from the time when she travelled to the Middle East herself 10 years ago. Even bigger problem is that she is not willing to do a new research and provide her clients with the new, updated information. If she is not interested in updating herself and all she does is re-use the same information year after year after year, she should not be in a travel industry that is constantly changing. In our case, we asked for a new information (like anybody else would), she just ignored us, did not respond to our emails, dragged her feet, ignored our questions, and wasted our time hoping that we would just go with it. Awful experience!

Our names were not on the list, and we were simply told that the tour was already full. The employee who assisted us didn't even try to help. She made no effort to contact the company, look for a solution, or show any concern for the situation. Instead, she was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. What is even more disappointing is the terrible customer service this company provides. When customers face a problem caused by your business, the least they should expect is respect, assistance, and a genuine effort to resolve the issue. We received none of that. We were treated as if our problem did not matter at all. This experience completely ruined our day and negatively affected our trip. We had been looking forward to this experience for a long time as part of our wedding anniversary celebration, and it was heartbreaking to have it ruined because of poor organization and a complete lack of customer care. I also spent money on transportation to get there, only to be turned away without any solution or apology. This level of incompetence and disregard for customers is unacceptable. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Their lack of professionalism, disorganized booking process, horrible customer service, and careless treatment of customers made this one of the worst experiences I have had while traveling. Customers deserve much better than being ignored, dismissed, and left to deal with the consequences of a company's mistakes.

It was a lengthy process to get visas done, book plane & train tickets, and have private tour guides in 2-3 months time. But they made it happen! All accommodations were clean and modern except for Beijing. But when we mentioned it to Elaine about the condition of the room, she took care of the situation and we were moved to a better room the next day. Make note that many hotel upper floors are better maintained compared to the lower floors in China. Each city had an AYCE breakfast buffet that was beautifully presented and prepared. We were definitely well nourished and fed for trekking and sightseeing! In Beijing, we saw the Forbidden City, climbed the Great Wall, walked around the Hutong area and had great food. In X'ian, we saw the Terracotta Warriors and the excavation site and museum. Managed to find a good spot near our hotel that had crispy Roujaimo (Chinese hamburger). And we found thick winter coats for only $20 USD! What a steal! And with the snow unexpectedly falling while we were there, it was necessary! In Shanghai, we explored the city, saw Yu Garden area, saw the LV flagship store and a huge Starbucks, one of seven in the world, where you see the production of coffee beans being roasted. We visited a few shopping malls to purchase perfume and make-up as well. In this city, there's an unusual combination of beautiful modern skyscrapers along side Chinese and European architecture. In Chongqing, we entered ancient caves with rock carved buddhas, saw stone bridges made from nature, experienced city life where they built the city in levels going upward rather than miles across. Honestly, I'd get lost since GPS couldn't tell you what level you are on! So glad we had a tour guide and driver who knew the city well! It saved us time and energy since we did not have to navigate ourselves. And with a language barrier, it would have made it even more difficult. All our gratitude goes to Star Vacation for creating and planning the itinerary for us. It was a fast-paced trip only staying in each city for just 2-3 days each. Our trip was exactly 2 weeks and it ended in Hong Kong, where we explored it ourselves. It was an expensive trip, but it was experience of a lifetime and truly memorable. We wouldn't hesitate asking Elaine and Melody to plan another trip in the near future!
