The owners have done a fabulous job in creating a market that checks off several boxes. - Organic food, both pantry and fresh produce, for those needing to purchase groceries - Great selection of tasty sandwiches made to order. Get a Turkey club, a wrap, aroast beef sandwich, Reuben, tuna melt or grilled cheese to name a few. - Freshly made salads with organic ingredients - Home made muffins, cookies and other baked goods - Coffee drinks from The Forge Coffee bar located inside the market. The coffee is delicious! - Small selection of gifts like tote bags, long sleeve shirts, tee shirts, greeting cards, and local artisan jewelry (yes, I bought a pair of earrings) Can't wait to visit again when the local cherries are in season. I know they will be awesome! You can take your order to go or eat there at one if the many tables inside. Located in the center of this 2 block town, the market is bright, spacious, with a beautiful lay-out. It has a modern, rustic vibe. And the service is friendly, small town charm. There is plenty of parking in their lot right out front. Dufur is about 15 minutes from The Dalles with nothing in between and even less as you head further south. Know that when you stop in this town, you can get something delicious and satisfying to eat & drink. Plus, you can pick up snacks for the rest of your day. All at the Dufur Market. Open every day from 7am - 8pm, Sundays from 10am - 6pm.

Inside, it appears their main focus is roasting the coffee rather than your typical hipster decor. There is no seating available- more of a grab and go establishment. Service was extremely quick and friendly. I ordered a decaf hazelnut latte since it was the afternoon. I was not disappointed! It was so smooth and the perfect sweetness! I'll have to grab a bag of their beans on my way through next time around.

Coming down from Mount Hood toward Portland, we spotted Mount Hood Roasters in Rhododendron out of…read morethe corner of our eyes, made a quick U-turn, and walked into exactly the kind of coffee experience we hope for in Oregon. I ordered a drip medium roast, grabbed some of their own beans to take home, and added a chocolate chip cookie and a sugar cookie to the order. The coffee was clearly the star here--roasted in-house with the kind of attention to quality you can taste in every sip. This is the type of independent shop that reminds you why you veer off the main road. Cozy and small with a rustic Oregon feel, there's no frills and no seating--just a laser focus on excellent coffee and a few well-chosen treats. The staff were warm and friendly, exactly the kind of welcome you hope for in a roadside discovery. As our Oregon trip winds down, Mount Hood Roasters stands out as one of those local gems you can't help but admire for its simplicity and dedication to doing one thing exceptionally well. Next time we're in the area, it's an automatic stop. If you enjoy coffee, whether your palate runs toward casual or connoisseur, you'll appreciate this place.
