I normally don't leave reviews for consignment shops I visit because I might go and find some amazing goodies and influence someone to go in expecting the same amazing goodies that have been picked through and not replaced and rate the business bad. Thrift/consignment stores are a gamble, usually worth the risk to scope out in my eyes. I came on Yelp to see if I could shop online at WearOvers and someone's one star review popped up from 2 days prior to mine now talking about her experience with staff and wanted to express my MULTIPLE (9 at least) visits here. This place is massive with a very well organized (I'd say repurposed house probably) with a front entry room that's color coordinated jewelry, walking into a large open room that to your left are racks of clothes that depends on the weather but organized by color and size The displays above these clothes are pearl jewelry/diamonds then thin walkway (2 people could pass if paying attention to surroundings with no issues) that if you turn left racks of clothes organized by color/size and shelves with purses and jewelry and shoes ALL color coordinated. I could keep going section by section but my main point is. 1: I've NEVER seen a thrift place in all the states I travel for work and explore shops have an easier way to shop/thrift. If I'm only looking for one specific item that's a certain color, I can run in look in whatever color section and run out without having to waste forever digging. But if you want to just browse they make it so easy!! 2. I CANNOT believe how well priced these items are! Some items, I've had to question because I think they are priced wrong (too low) for the quality and condition) 3. Every time I have visited, there may not be someone just standing there at the counter doing nothing but greet the incoming customer but I can see why: I've only seen one person on staff there at a time that if they aren't checking out a customer, they are organizing or re-racking items, assisting customers in the shop or walking through multiple rooms and a second story with clothes to assist shopping customers. For the love of Jesus, they are one person with so many tasks and responsibilities!! If you need attention the whole time you are shopping, please hire a personal shopper at a high end store! Not once has any staff (it's always been a different staff member when i go in) been rude or demeaning! They have been nothing but nice helpful attentive... I could go on. 4: i tried before I made this post to just reply to the one star review person's review to save me from this SUPER long review I'm leaving and couldn't so I'll say this here: it sounded to me, (I wasn't there so I can't be 100% sure) that this person was in her own little world thinking she was the only person out shopping today, got butt hurt when she sat on a stool (first time in a thrift shop to think random stools are for customers to lounge on to shop??) and was asked by staff if she needed help. Then got butt hurt AGAIN when (from her own comment having her ear bud in with whatever audio playing) in her own world of shopping and not paying attention to her surroundings in a PUBLIC SHOPPING area squatting in a walkway was asked by staff to let another patron pass, said that was rude?? But then leave a ONE star review on a shop for hurt feelings and not the actual shop quality?? So I sat here for 39 minutes making this post about a shop that I've never received money or discount or perks from to say IGNORE the lady's (who looks approximately in her 50-60"s so you wouldn't think she wouldn't have the attitude of she's the s only one that's important or exists in this world that this is her only second review on Yelp at all) review is unfair. And PLEASE, if the one star review lady ever comes back and sees my comment and would like a sit down adult discussion over coffee or martini to just discuss worldly appropriate behavior to comment or review again and I'd be happy to discuss. read more

I have shopped here for several years and have found some great bargains, but yesterday I had a strange encounter with one of the employees. I happened to be listening to a podcast and had one earbud in. Sometimes when I walk in, there is a person behind the counter, and I might or might not greet them depending on whether or not the person is working on a sale, just busy with something behind the counter, or I am lost in thought. When I walked in, no one was behind the counter, and I made my way to the blouses. There happened to be a stool there, so I sat down to look at the blouses and shirts. The moment I sat down, a store employee came to me, looked me directly in the face and asked if I needed help, which was unusual for this store. Major stores do this but not small stores such as this one. I paused the podcast and responded, saying "No". She went on to say that she had said "Hello" or "Hi" (don't remember which) to me several times. I find this hard to believe as the distance from the counter to the blouses is mere steps. At this point, she could clearly see the earbud in my ear. Then she left. Was I "supposed" to greet her? Am I required to greet the store worker? Later on I was almost finished shopping and had planned to buy a small scarf. I was in an area which is VERY tight. It is hard for two people to pass each other. I was squatting down looking at something on one of the lower shelves and admittedly somewhat unaware of the people around me, when the "friendly" worker spoke to me asking if I could let someone pass behind me. Again, I could be wrong, but she acted as if I was being terribly rude. By the time she finished asking me, the person had already passed. Also, the person herself could easily have tapped me on the shoulder and asked to pass. Maybe I am reading more into it than is really there, but she seemed to have a beef with me. At that point, I dropped the scarf on the counter and walked out. I will not be returning to this store anytime in the near future. read more

Small consignment store that has options for all types of clothes, outerwear, bags, shoes and so on. You can find brand names of expensive clothing that shows little to no wear and is 1/4 the retail price you'd see if bought brand new. The staff is friendly. Parking is easy and right by the store entrance. read more

Surprisingly large consignment store (you don't realize how many rooms there are until you're inside). This store carries a great selection of clothing, jewelry, purses, and shoes. The prices are extremely good for the high quality of the items; I left with a skirt, unworn heels, and matching jewelry for $20. Terrible customer service. My wife asked me to pick up her check for items she had sold. She called ahead and asked that it be at the front desk and it was confirmed it would be. An hour later I arrived only to find that 1) it wasn't there and 2) the "manager" couldn't be found. The woman out front was nice and said she'd call her. I had mentioned that I had a meeting and literally had a minute to wait / 10minutes later the woman RE-appears, with no check and says that the manager thought that my wife was coming in to bring more items and discuss potential payment. I knew this was wrong as she said she was done going here due to the antiquated "systems" in place. Needless to say I was told that it would be great if I could wait another 5 minutes (great for who?) and I really couldn't. So I left. Long story short / it appears that if you shop here, it may be a nice store. But if you sell here, it's like pulling teeth to get anything out of them. Husbands - stay away! Trust me!!! read more

wearovers is an absolute gem all around! i was greeted the minute i walked through the door which is comforting for an extremely shy person. i was given a personal tour around the consignment by a lovely woman named Pam. she was engaging and positive, which makes me feel relaxed and more inclined to leave with a purchase. i appreciate that she offered assistance but gave me the space i needed to explore the store and see what stands out. i noticed that wearovers layout is beautifully organized and clean with enough spacing to browse comfortably. earlier in the day i donated my previous winter clothes and needed a warm jacket for the snowy new england days to come. i immediately came across this red madison expedition jacket in mint condition that was priced at $40! i prefer heavy jackets to be larger in size to fit additional sweaters, dresses, etc. underneath so i knew it was a sign to take this home. i circled back to the front and was checked out by Pam who offered the store's business card and gave me reassurance that i am welcomed back. today was a rainy day so their upstairs was closed but it gives me a reason to come again and do some more shopping. i left smiling to have found a jacket that checked off my needs and a consignment that i can trust has quality in their inventory at the right prices:) read more

This is a good place to buy / shop-- good selection and great prices. It also has really nice jewelry. It's tricky to ever get paid when you consign since everything is done by hand ( they need some software). It takes 2-3 tries to finally get a check as the bill person comes in once a week - (or something like that). I have been put on" the list" to get an accounting 3 times with no call. So I haven't been paid for 4 drop offs and about 50 items. Just be ready to be patient...eventually you will get paid or you can also use credit which is easier...The issue is you never know how much credit you have. The store in Littleton has it all on a computer so there are no questions. Impossible to run a business like this by jotting stuff down~! That being said, I still like shopping there... read more

There used to be reviews of this business that warned against using them for consignment because they reserve the right to give to charity anything that doesn't sell or "gets damaged." So because you never get your clothes back from them, there is nothing preventing them from lying to you about what they do and do not sell. I have to say, I will try somewhere else next time. I quit my job as a lawyer two years ago when I had a baby. All my clothes were Ann Taylor (sizes 8P, 6P, MP, SP, and S) and a few were French designers - plenty of cashmere sweaters, some shoes, skirts. I gave them a few bags totally full plus many hanging items and I only gave them the good stuff. I drove all the way downtown and left anything questionable at "Rosie's Place" where I knew it would go directly to women in need. Still more I tossed in the garbage. So this really amounted to my very best Ann Taylor items. I made my big drop in late-November and was told to call in January or February to see what had sold. Nobody picked up on several occasions. Finally I got a hold of them in March. They told me to call back two weeks later so they would "have the February books done." When I called back they told me that "a couple things had sold" and so they had $6.00 for me. ????? They told me to call back in "another 2 weeks" because maybe they'd "know more." Meanwhile I did notice when I dropped my stuff off that it was very disorganized and nobody was clearly labeling all of my bags or hanging items. It's possible that they're being honest with me and that out of ALL that stuff, only 2 items sold and they sold for a total of $14.00. But my point is that I'll never have any way of knowing. I would use a place that has a more professional system - not just in terms of checks against fraud but also in terms of organization and answering the phone. I will update this review if it turns out there was some mistake and a more believable amount of sales is reported to me. read more

When I bring in my things for consignment, I look at it that I am getting rid of items I no longer want, not necessarily for "making money". I didn't even know the store was there until I went to the Bedford Maxx Store looking for, and not finding, this year's "it" sweater! Tucked into a historic building, this shop is a treasure trove. The displays of jewlery and accessories, arranged by color, are just fun to look at. It's like being in a high-end boutique without the high prices. Brands like Nic and Zoe, Saks Fifth Avenue. Many items are new with tags still on them. I guess i went here for my first time at the best time! Black Friday sale going on!! First impression of the outside was questionable because it looks like a house. But when you walk in...i personally loved the way the store was set up. Extremely clean, i didn't get the woman's name that was at the front but she was extremely nice and even took me on a tour of the store, explained the layout, etc. now i thrift A LOT. So when i went in i wasn't expecting to really find anything i was more browsing but i found things i just couldn't leave without getting!!!!! They had a super cute $5 purse section and i had to grab the super compact shoulder bag i found. Grabbed a pair of earrings and a very cute top as well. Now i was SAD to hear they don't do the $5 room like previous yelp reviews stated but it's worth the visit ladies! They go up to sizes 2x if you're wondering. Jewelry selection was awesome too. I'll be uploading some pictures and videos of the store to beef up this review and my experience. I'm also upset to see the store has very few and not good reviews. This place is pretty great! Came on the recommendation of a friend and did not leave disappointed. Loved browsing all of the rooms and loved the variety of women's clothing and accessories. They do a good job of accepting nice brands and quality clothing that have a lot of wear left to them. And the prices are fair. Their hours are a little bit of a downer, especially if you're a working person. But they are open one later evening. I will be back!! read more

I am very disappointed as a consigner at this shop. You must pay $20 as a first-time consigner, and I left many very nice pieces there 10 months ago and was told not to check back before now--three seasons later. I went in to check on my account two weeks ago and was told to sign a list and that I would be called. I did not hear from them. I called them today, only to be told that I may or may not be called "this cycle," that the bookkeeper has been "traveling," etc. Here's the thing: many pieces in this very heavily stocked shop are clearly worn; my pieces were in some cases brand new or worn once, all high end brand names. I see other reviews here from disappointed consigners, so I know it is not only me who has had a negative experience. I will not consign with them again and can only hope I can recoup my $20. This is not how other consignment shops operate--I know of none that charge a fee on top of taking a percentage of the sales. read more

I would give zero if I could because this store was absolutely horrible to consign with. I'm sure it's fine to buy from, but I spend quite a bit on my clothing and to bring my stuff to consignment and have it sold without ever receiving even the slightest percentage of the sales...then that is not consignment. I basically dropped off my designer goods and had them taken from me for a profit? That's not business that's really very poor business and I am very disappointed in the women who run this store. I sell my clothes privately now and am much better off because I don't have to call rude older women and be told that they don't just cut checks and to call back in a few weeks. Very honest about mentioning any as is issue on the label. have frequent sales off the already low prices. the $5 room is cool. Store appears well-stocked and manager is very friendly. Review is based on limited pre-consignment experience. After two visits to store, one to attempt to make appt, one with huge load of items, to be turned away from my appointment. And after "curating" my items for a return attempt, learn on Yelp (not mentioned by store) that there is a $20 fee to consign - WHAT? At 40% IF an item sells (and based on reviews, no real way to tell how well they keep track) that would be five pairs of shoes, or eight scarves, or a couple of nice jackets...I also saw them turn away a consignor with some items to drop-off because they don't take items the last week of the month. So, I am cutting my losses and will simply donate my clothes. Would have been nice to get a little something for them but not worth the PIA factor, plus, who knows if I would actually ever get my money. their "tracking system" is scribbles on notebook paper by the register. read more

Great prices, fabulous quality, big selection, and nice dressing rooms (for a consignment store- usually they are pretty awful). The jewelry selection is also top notch. I think this is a great shop. I brought there some items and I also bought there a couple of clothes. I am coming back to both consign and shop. They take any season clothes any time! I had an experience with another shop where I had to make an appointment 6 months ahead. And the selection was far worse than here. I agree that the system is not perfect in terms of keeping track of what you sell, but you can not expect it with such a turnaround of clothes. My other option was just donating items, and getting a tax deduction which might be bigger than I would get selling them here. But here it is more fun. read more
