Super cheap and tasty wines in the boat! So amazing it is almost mythical... here is the story. One day I walked into Weavers, B-lined to the Wine Boat (as I always do). After 2 minutes picking out wines I noticed a wine that I knew all too well. One of my favorite white wines of all time. I know this wine because I lived in Rome for a year an actually purchased a case directly from the vineyard in Tuscany. I paid 100 euros for this case at the time about 145$ not too bad for a top notch wine. But here I am standing in Elkton MD looking at the exact same wine for less than 60$ for a case... HOW CAN THIS BE?! I was there, at the vineyard, I paid cash, they didn't ship it! Regardless I snagged myself another case took it home and sure enough, same wine, same vineyard, same year, everything! Only difference my wine was in Italian and Weavers was in English. It's a bit of a drive into the countryside in MD, but if you're driving by, it's definitely worth a pit stop here. There's a boat of discount wine!! Literally. There's a big old wooden boat inside the store that has bottles of various types of delicious wine for $3.99 - and even further discounted if you buy a case at a time. We got malbec, cab, merlot, sauv blanc, etc. and they taste as great as any more expensive brands in my opinion - it's just the overstock bottles that they're trying to push. Coming from Philadelphia, I found the rest of the store to be pretty good prices too! I'm looking forward to my next pit stop here in the near future. read more

Weaver's is a great local liquor store with a wide selection of beer/wine/spirits. They are located on Rt. 40 and are easily accessible. After comparing prices, they are very competitive with local liquor stores in the area and I will absolutely return in the near future. This place is hard to notice off the highway but if you venture inside you will see that they have a great selection, wines, beer, spirits.

If you think Total Wine is the place to go... your sadly mistaken...The price, selection, and service is why YOU SHOULD be visiting Weaver's. The staff is always friendly and happy to help. I'm not sure how accurate a first review would be from someone from NY but hey. People come from far and wide to go to Weavers. And not everyone carries Natty Boh the farther you get out of Baltimore. But that's ok, we don't go to big liquor houses for Boh anywhay, we grab that at the Ro-Fo. Now to the review. I've been a fan of Weavers whenever I'm driving the awe inspiring streatch of Rt. 40 between Perryville and Elkton. It never fails that whenever I find myslef on this strip of highway Americana I feel the need to get drunk as fast as I can. And, like a ray of hope, there is Weavers I'm not sure just how helpful the staff is because they either don't have people roaming the ailes asking if you are finding everything or they are busy help other people who just don't know what they want. But every time I'm there the staff at the checkout are cool and friendly. The place is pretty big with lotsa liquor and wine selections and lotsa cubes of cheap beer. They have a lot of bathtub liquors which keep help to keep budget down. I was there a few weeks ago looking for contraband to take to the beach. I don't want glass bottles, I don't want anything that's gonna stick out and show that I'm getting tanked in a state park...Ooh, how about some boxed wine. Nothing says pity party like boxed wine. I was looking for a small box of "Blue and Yellow" which I heard about on NPR's Cellar Notes. High class wine shipped in boxes to save money and resources. That's me! High class disguised a cheap ass. No luck on the Blue and Yellow but I did find single serving juice boxes of sangria and white zinfandel. Now it's a date. Nothing says "You my boo" like a hand held size box of white zinfandel. Single serving = 3 glasses. Awesome. I asked the counter guy how much they were and he gave it a look and said "$2.50". YES!! I told them that these would make great beach wines sicne I don't have to hide them or disquise them. They both gave me a look as if the collective light bulb just went off. Virtual fist bumps around. Hey, the place is nothing fancy, they do have cheap liquor and it's on your way if you in the middle of getting the hell out of Ceciltucky. What's not to love? read more

A friend told me about this place and even though it's a bit out of the way from my town in PA, I happened to be passing by and decided to check it out. I am SO glad that I did! The wine boat just can't be beat... Bottles for $3.99 or 3 x $11.39, and a decent variety of vineyards and types of wine to choose from. Of course the store is very well stocked with plenty of other wines beyond the boat selection, but I didn't check out much else because I was able to find everything I wanted in the discount section. I did wander into the liquor aisles and also managed to find my go-to vodka on the shelves for $11.99, whereas it sells for $17.99 in PA. Awesome! Long story short, check out Weaver's! The prices can't be beat and the staff is super friendly. Even though it's an hour's drive, I'm already considering making it a regular trip -- for me, the savings more than pay for the cost of gas to get there. Cashier was horribly rude and abrasive. I was in a great mood getting alcohol for a Halloween party and at check out I attempted to make casual small talk with the lady and was blatantly ignored. My change was quite literally tossed at me and I didn't even get a 'have a nice day' as I walked out the door. Not one word. My family and I will NEVER come here again. read more
