An inscription on the base of the monument honors the "Boys of Manchester, Connecticut, who volunteered and served their country in the Spanish American War." The top of the monument contains an image of a sword crossed with an American flag. Below that is a block letter cross with "Puerto Rico, USA, Cuba, and Phillipine Islands" on the outside. In the center, it reads Spanish War Veterans 1898-1902. Below the cross is written: Ward Cheney Camp No. 13 USWV. Camp was a Manchester native who died in the war. I wasn't familiar with the acronym "USWV". I researched it and found it to mean the United Spanish War Veterans, an old organization of American veterans of the Spanish-American War, and military missions in the Philippines and China. I've seen a lot of Veterans Monuments over the last few months, and can't recall another one dedicated to the Vets of the Spanish American War. For that reason alone, I'll give it 5 stars.

They have a lot of Board Games to choose from as well. There's Media Room exclusive for a lot of movies they have on DVD and Blu-Ray. There's nice people working at the library as well. However... The library is not suitable for expansion but unfortunately the library is really overgrown and have barely any more space for most books to shelve. Bookshelves are cramped as well resulting in so many books withdrawn yearly (there is a basement for more storage of books but unfortunately not enough space for more books as well.). The good news is voters approved the deal that would move the library to a brand new building where Webster Bank currently is down the street (the Webster Bank will be relocated to another property and its building will be demolished for new library construction). The Cheney Library building will still be there once the library moves out of that building once the new library building is complete within the next few years or so.

Donated from different walks of life the library does well to ensure eveything is there for your fun time ahead. You can borrow the games up to 3 weeks and they even added in renewals which is a nice feature. The only thing is that the games have to be returned while the library is open and sadly here is the only place that carry an extensive selection but hope that others hop on. Do you part and support the local library and try a free new game before purchasing or having a great time. With so many games for so many different type of people and groups drop by and see what they have.

You will not be told of anything valuable that you may have overlooked, they will take it. The "inventory" of items to be sold, a barely readable hand written list. Kicking off the New Year with my first visit to the Immerse HydroSpa & Massage!…read more What a fun experience - you first start with a Water Fall Bucket (spoiler - its COLD) and then go into the sauna - having done the water bucket first, the sauna was easier to handle so I didn't overheat too much and loved the red light in it. Next was experience shower - i selected relax, it was mostly warm and very refreshing after that a 12 min dip into the hot tub. Following that was the ice fountain - you think putting ice on your body would be odd but coming out from the hot tub it felt amazing. We then headed to the steam room followed by a cold plunge (we only lasted a minute!!) and ended in the salt tepidarium. Staff was very helpful and at times would pop in with a wet cold towel (always at the perfect time) and while in the salt tepidarium surprised us with a healthy juice shot. Love an experience and this one was truly great! They provide a watch so you can keep track of your time and the stations! As well as sandals that can go into all the areas - even the pools! Can't wait to return for more!
