I have used them for years. New York is old, and so are some keys to buildings. try taking one of those old keys to Home Depot or mom and pop locksmith and they can't copy it. The front door key for one of the buildings I manage couldn't be duplicated anywhere other than at Webster. They didn't have the key in stock but we're able to fabricate a key to be cut to match the one I need a copy of. read more

Don't waste your time here. Requested to get a lock replaced sometime in August 2021. I was given a quote and I was told it would take a month to get the lock, I asked Ryan to proceed. In November, I called Webster Lock to find out about my order, I spoke to Maria and she said the quote had changed, I asked for the order to be placed, even asked if I needed to make a deposit and I was told I didn't need to. Finally, I called today to check the status of my order and Maria told me my order was never approved and the order was never placed. Came to program my car key. They didn't program it and kept me waiting for an hour because they blocked my car with a different car that they were working on and the manager refused to clear the way. The manager was very rude, unprofessional and didnt seem to care at all. read more

I called this AM about a troublesome lock that wouldn't catch properly. By 10:30, JD was here. He reviewed the situation, showed me what the problems were and how he would resolve them. It's not quite noon, and he's done and gone, and the door closes and the lock locks better than I ever remember it locking. Total cost: $136. Very highly recommended. I would give no stars if I could. This place is unethical. I paid $200 for a new car key. I was told there was a warranty and should being the key back with the receipt if anything goes wrong with the key. Well, my remote stopped working. I too the key back and the (white) manager was rude and dismissive to me and refused to honor the warranty stating I could pay for a new battery If I want to, but they cannot do anything. Let me begin by saying I would give this place zero stars if I could. I took the time to read some of the other reviews and I'm glad to see that there are plenty others who share my sentiments. I recently went in the store to ask for a duplicate key for my apartment door. The problem is the key says it's not to be duplicated. The person who lived in my apartment prior to me brought a special lock that requires a card, showing you purchased it. In short, I requested to speak with a guy I assume was the owner (pete or peter.)I cannot express how: rude, short, smug disrespectful and down right nasty he was to me. He cut me off a number of times while shooting questions at me before I could even finish a sentence and his breath smelled. He treated me as if I was coming in to try and duplicate someone else's key. He had no respect for me as a customer and I witnessed him talk very hard to an employee. Let me be clear, it wasn't so much that he said he could not do it.. it was how he spoke to me. Yelling " what am I suppose to do cut and key for you not knowing who it belongs too." I IMPLORE ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE BRONX AND IN THE NEARBY COMMUNITY TO NEVER SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I'm so annoyed!! Paid damn near $500 in CASH for work and less than 8 hours after the installation got locked in my apartment!!! I had to take the lock off the door to get out!! When I called them to take a look at the lock I was told I had to wait until MONDAY!!! WTF! I am lost for words!! I don't like slamming anyone NOR do I get any joy in writing negative reviews; however this is so upsetting. Customer service deserves no stars. I don't understand why they advertise 24/7 service when it's apparent they don't!! UPDATE: After placing a call and sending an email, the company sent another locksmith the next morning to repair the faulty installation. I went in to the store to get the deadbolt lock in my home replaced. I made an appointment for them to come to my home the following day between 2-4PM. I received a call at 2:17PM saying the technician could not find my address. After getting my proper address, I was told that the technician would arrive shortly. I called back 90-minutes later to find out what was up because they did not show. I was told that the technician got caught up at his previous job but was on his way. I called back at 4PM to ask what was going on. I was told that they would reach out to the technician to find out what was the delay and call me back. I waited until 5PM and no one showed up or called to follow-up. I called the store but they were closed and they don't open on Sundays. I guess they must be super successful to afford to have such poor customer service. Needles to say I will be reaching out to another locksmith to get a new lock for my door. read more

Fortunately, I don't use locksmiths often, so I cannot compare service or price with other companies, however I have dealt with many different kinds of service providers in my life and can honestly say the service I received from Webster Lock was outstanding. Starting with my first phone call and conversation with Romeo, I knew I had made the right decision to follow my building's management company's advice to call Webster. Romeo patiently and pleasantly answered my several questions and addressed all of my concerns. He was similarly professional during follow-up calls. A suspected fire in the apartment above me caused the fire dept to break down my door so I needed a company that could install in prompt time in the same make and door-locks. Webster did it for me. The owner, David, was courteous and very quick in response with emails and his service. The tech they sent us, Rene, did an absolute fantastic job with my door. He tinkered, installed, re-installed when it didn't fit right, shaped, shifted and finally perfected it. My door and frame are as good as new. Not quite sure what all the hoopla's about with the negative reviews below and even if they did a poor job with it, seems like they're quick to try and resolve any issues. When the owners (Peter) are also unprofessional and rude and they allow their staff to be rude (Simon, Jeremy); as well as not honoring their word and lying (which in the home safety field is a big red flag) then you know you have to run, not walk, away from this company. PART II is they measured the window wrong in May, disappeared, re-appeared in August, lied about disappearing, made an installation of gate appointment (after a series of emails), then brought the gate which was FILTHY and the WRONG SIZE. Photo shows their guy *re-measuring the window after he damaged the window ledge by trying to shove in the too large gate. Said he would have to order a new gate with the right size. Then on the assigned date another guy shows up with only a drill in his hand. "Where is the new gate???" They never made a new gate. Then turned around and invented a lie to the landlord to hide their incompetency. Complete waste of time. Horrible people. Horrible customer service. Horrible experience. And now they are harassing us by sending us hate emails. OMG!! Please if you value your sanity and your safety STAY AWAY FROM THESE ABUSIVE and reckless people. My building said that they use this company... called thursday and never got a call back. Called friday, jeremy was friendly enough on the phone. Was advised that they only do service calls mon-fri 10-4... WTF? In this day and age..... since i had no choice (building is paying) i rearrange everything, leave my keys with the super, secure the cat in another room... to then have NO ONE SHOW UP! Had a broken intercom, so I called Webster Hardware, who installed the system in my apartment building originally. Spoke to Jeremy, who was very friendly (as was the young lady who initially answered the phone) and he had someone come out the same day. The repairman - I think his name is Morell? - was also very friendly and efficient. He did a great job, and all is working well now. Overall, very professional and a great experience. This was my second time using Webster at our condominium complex and the experience has been consistent. I spoke with Simon at 9:30 AM this morning and asked if he would be able to fit me in and he said he'll do his best. The locksmith Jeff showed up here at 12:20 PM, installed a push bar and cylinder and was done in 30 minutes. They come when they say they are and they do pro work. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The customer service and operational procedure here is a total joke. I placed an order at their store last Saturday for a high security lock and a door latch. Tuesday morning, the guy arrives without the items to do the install. Apparently I was supposed to be given them at the time of purchase, which is odd, but ok? He only had one lock in his van and left. No follow up from him or the office or management. I called the very next morning, which was this past Wednesday at exactly 10:02AM and confirmed with someone over the phone that they would come back that Saturday (today). Of course, no one arrives. I call and speak to their manager Allen, who tells me nothing was on the books for that day for me. I get upset naturally (as this is the 3rd screw up now) and he states: "tell me the person you spoke to and I'll send a guy right now with the locks". Really? Wonderful- so I have to prove I spoke to your staff in order to get what I paid for? He then goes onto heckle me throughout the conversation. To make matters worse, he didn't even know what I ordered as they don't keep any customer records. I gave him my name, address and nothing. I had to fish for my receipt and tell him what I ordered exactly, so he can reschedule my service date. What business in 2018 has no POS database to keep track of customer orders?? I contemplated cancelling the rest of the order, but unfortunately this particular lock was only $34 bucks so I might as well wait for the next install date. If it was the high security lock I paid $256 for I would have CANCELLED! Business lost. I'm so sorry I ever went here, and want to advise others not to go. It was suggested by my management company to go here, and I'll make it a point to let them know NOT to refer tenants here. Advice to ownership: hire new management with better people skills and invest in POS equipment so your staff can keep track of things. Terrible, terrible, terrible service. read more

Cancelled appointments for 2 weeks, and when they finally came they damaged the wall and did a shitty job. Measurements of my door was taken in July and a new door was supposed to be installed on Aug 31st, the guys come and started working only to realize the door wouldn't fit because the previous guy took the wrong measurements or someone ordered the wrong size door, the guys were nice and said call on Tuesday to speak with Erica (who's on vacation for the holiday) bc they couldn't do anything more to the door. I called on Tuesday, Sept 4th and left a message with Jackie for Erica. Jackie said she knew about situation and she had my info on a sticky and needed to speak with Erica. I waited all day no call back, no call back on Wednesday. Finally I called again on Thursday and left a message with a guy, still no call back on Thursday or Friday. Here it is Sunday and I now have to wait until Monday, Sept 10th to call again. It makes no sense why I couldn't get a simple call back saying I'm aware of the situation, I'm sorry the door couldn't be installed this is what we're going to do to fix the situation. I understand the correct size door needs to be reordered but at least call the customer. Instead no one calls. My management building made the arrangements and now I'm stuck with no door and no one to help. read more

This company is totally professional. My newly renovated building's front door was installed incorrectly by the builder. The challenge for Webster was to install a door closer where there was no room for one and to provide a latch handle on the inside to open the door.
