The maintenance company for my apartment building cut my lock to get into my apartment to fix a leak. I called another lock company and the guy did a poor job installing the lock. It was uneven and I had to lift the door a little to line everything up to lock the top but the bottom would not lock because the top lock was uneven. Today One Stop Locksmith came to fix this mess and install a new lock and Mr. Aviv did a great job. The top and bottom locks are aligned and they lock properly. Its rare that you are smiling after you lock yourself out of your place, but i was. I called around and most places were closed, and some had horrible rates. This rating is for being helpful and honest. Excellent quick service from a delightful professional. Backyard door was closed for a long time, lost key. Gil came, opened it, changed parts, gave us keys. All for an affordable price. We asked also asked him to inspect and make keys for the basement door, which was not in good shape. He explained why we should change the door frame instead of paying him to make keys. My front door lock broke when I was trying to get in after work at 2am. Gil charged a premium for getting out of bed and driving over to me at that hour but it was actually less than a few other locksmiths I called. He was polite, courteous, quick and efficient in replacing the lock. 3 months later, the same lock started to stick. Gil returned and fixed a manufacturing defect at no charge. Be very careful when choosing this locksmith. In July 2016, I moved to the Bronx and on the recommendation of a family member I used One Stop Locksmith (OSL). I paid $550.00 to have two cylinders changed on one door and two no-lock door knobs added to two different doors. I don't know about you, but when I pay that kind of money I expect the trades-person to stand by their work. OSL does not stand by their work. The door knobs onto which the cylinders were installed have come loose. I called OSL and was told the following, "It's like if I change a tire on your car then something goes wrong with the car that has nothing to do with me...it will be $85.00 to come out and look at it." I thanked OSL and hung-up. If I have to explain that when changing a tire you can damage the axial, strip the bolts, etc. then I am working too hard. A locksmith who changes a cylinder and charges top dollar to do that, then has the door knob directly above that cylinder become loose and does not repair that knob is...well, you fill in your adjective. I must share that when I lived in Manhattan I used Morales Hardware and Locksmith in East Harlem multiple times and never had an issue. I guess that's because they did excellent work at a fair price - and they stood by their work. Too bad Morales does not serve the Bronx. Given my experience, I don't understand how anyone could give this business a favorable rating. You have been warned. read more

When you lock yourself out of your apartment on a Friday night you basically just have to trust google to get you through it. I didn't even think to try yelp. I thought the price was very reasonable and being that I have never actually locked myself out EVER I don't know the going rates and was expecting it to cost a small fortune. After talking to other people who told me how much they paid during weekday hours I was VERY happy with this price. This man is a life saver. Came to my apartment on a Friday after 1030pm. He arrived about 30 mins after I called for someone. The super of my building was utter useless!! Stating it's not an emergency and he didn't know what to tell me!! The locksmith came tried a few different ways and finally succeeded with opening my door! He was pleasant and courteous.
