No big problem, things happen, I understand. Two days later they resume and complete taking the tree down. However, they didn't remove the two trunks until days later. Also, the lawn was unnecessarily damaged by his backhoe carrying branches unnecessarily over large stretches of my lawn instead of utilizing the driveway nearby. They also dropped many logs onto my lawn resulting in many holes or divets that needed to be repaired by me. However, the worst part was the stump removal, or I should say lack thereof. I've included photos of what Brian repeatedly said was a sufficient removal of the stump. You be the judge. I didn't see this initially because the whole area was covered in stump grindings and assumed the stump underneath was gone. Brian is a smooth talker who will promise everything and deliver very little.

The day comes, it's not the company I hired it's some independent landscaping contractor who gets there late and leaves early. I reached out to the company to say hey I don't think I should have to pay for this full time when they got here late, left early and the yard is still messy. They tell me that they arrived on time, that some time is reduced because the contractor has to pick up the equipment and that he was there the entire time. I work from home I can see and hear when the yard work is being done. I can say that the contractor did spend 20 min with a leaf blower in the corner of my driveway blowing air at literally nothing. The backyard was cut down with the clippings left to sit on top of what was cut, the front yard wasn't touched. If you can get the actual company they do five star work if they get you a contractor run. They won't believe you and they will charge you for half ass work.

I (stupidly) gave them a 50% deposit to start. They started 7 days after the scheduled start date, which would not have been a problem but they would text every day and say they would be here tomorrow. They were very sloppy, left tools, trash, food wrappers, boots, and shirts strewn about the property. I even had to loan them tools.(which were left outside in the rain). I could have dealt with all of that if the final product was decent. This is the worst concrete job I have ever seen! I am embarrassed for anyone to see it. They did not do what they were contracted to do. They were supposed to even out where the garage met the driveway by cutting a straight line with their concrete saw...when it was time to pour they said their saw was broken. They had issues with the concrete company and held us hostage when the last concrete truck came... they said the driver would not pour the concrete unless we paid him 1800.00. We felt we had to pay otherwise we would have a 10'x15' area without concrete. Once the final truck off loaded the concrete, Malaki (the owner) said they just had a little clean up to do and they would return the following day to clean up and cut the expansion lines. He wanted another payment of 6500.00 to pay his grandfather and uncle and his partner Gray. I gave him the 6500.00 since he said the wet concrete would level out and they would return the next day. I never saw him again. I texted and called him on numerous occasions... once again nothing but lies. They never returned. I had to pay someone to finish what they could not, which was removing the form boards, piles of concrete in the yard and around the driveway and the metal posts that held the boards in place and lots of trash. I gave them ample opportunities to make this right. They chose not to. The driveway is cracking, has large ridges, bumps all over, in lots of areas you can see stones, divots, and tool marks. Water puddles in many places. Worse job I have ever seen. At this point the entire driveway has to be torn up and redone based on an engineers report. If they made the effort to try and fix their mistakes by using a grinder to smooth out the many many perfections and cut the necessary expansion joints I would have thought at least they tried to remedy the situation. Tried again a little over a year later due to all of the on recommendations and good reviews and wanted to hire a local company, and figured I'd give the first time as a fluke or mistake. Both tries, I spoke with them on the phone the week of the agreed time and date for estimates for fairly large residential work, but being stood up twice is inexcusable.

I appreciate that they got the tree down w/o hitting the house. There were just too many issues. I removed the fence, minus the posts, due to being concreted in. They bent two posts and completely knocked one out. Damaged a fence cap next to the house. I asked them to leave 8' of the tree. I am a woodworker and the tree was in the perfect spot to carve the remaining trunk. Nope! I went in for lunch and came out to a huge wedge cut out at the base of the tree. The whole tree had to be cut down. The boss apologized. The whole tree had to be cut down. No offer to grind the stump for failure to follow instructions. I don't smoke and I despise picking up other people's cigarette butts. They were all over. The truck they had leaked oil all over the driveway. They kicked the rocks around to try to hide the oil. I asked to keep half of the mulch. Before I could tell them to stop the whole truck was dumped. They tossed a large amount of branches and pine needles on to the adjoining property. I am sure I will be hearing about it from the property owners. Be aware that you will have a hard time contacting them. Don't answer phone and you can't leave a message. The worst part... they still wanted me to pay the same amount. No offer of compensation. Got a little bit of attitude too.

Doug was always friendly and in great communication, and by the end, he advised me on several other trees around the property, at no extra charge.
