I moved from VA to FL recently and needed to find someone to continue my pain and spine treatment…read more I had Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) in VA and needed to find a doctor in FL to administer the RFA again as my neck really began to hurt again. I asked repeatedly for them to obtain my records from my previous doctor so they would know where to do the ablation again (not entirely their fault as my previous doctor's office was unresponsive for weeks). Prior to getting the records they gave me facet join injections as a diagnostic measure to see where they needed to do the RFA again. Mind you the doctor simply looked at me to make this determination and did no examination of me. Didn't even feel my neck or back. Anyway, the injections did nothing. I feel worse in fact. I have called repeatedly for weeks for a muscle relaxer to be called in until I can have the RFA again and no one will call me back. I don't understand why you would administer a diagnostic procedure before checking my records to see where I had the RFA done before (since that actually worked). Anyway I'm going to have to find a new spine and pain doctor in FL. Also, when I called to cancel my next appointment and told them I wasn't happy with their treatment up to this point the receptionist said okay, well we wish you luck. Didn't even ask why. Goes to show they are used to this kind of thing.

Dr. L.K. Valente was referred to me by Dr. Robert Getter, M.D., Spine Specialist. I have been in…read moreexcruciating pain and was unable to get an appointment right away but Dr. Getter got me in as soon as possible. He contacted Dr. Valente before he started his hours and said he needed to see me urgently for an injection procedure as soon as possible and sent me right over to him. Dr. Valente gave me his utmost attention and explained everything he was going to do. He also said the procedure might not work but it might also work but he couldn't promise it would. He also gave prescription medicine for nerve pain to help. This day was not a normal day for procedures so he had to gather staff to assist with the procedure. He is an excellent doctor in explaining everything and works well with Dr. Getter. I feel I really lucked out with two very good doctors and I hope more people will review both of these doctors in the future. Neither of these doctors was listed on Yelp and I felt the need to list them. Not all doctors or centers are perfect and I hope people will keep in mind when writing a review. It is not fair to make a bad judgment or remark because no person or company is perfect.

I have been a pain management patient for a few years and had a previous Doctor that I dreaded seeing every month. When I was blessed enough to be switched to Dr. Fernandez I was nervous, but he quickly put me at ease and now having to go to the doctor isn't so bad. The staff are always friendly and polite. There's always a bit of a wait, but it's not too bad and he's definitely worth it!

I'm not a young kid, and I don't take pills to try to get high. I have had major back pain since I broke my hip with a very bad twisted type of break. When one has had a major trauma to their body, other problems can easily begin... such as arthritis, etc. Arthritis has been terrible, along with other pain producing problems. What I think might be sciatica (sorry for the spelling), began a while back, and is the worst pain I've ever experienced. Whether it's sciatica or something else, this pain makes it impossible to stand or walk more than a few steps without HAVING to sit down for a minute or so before being able to once again stand or walk. It continues happening, so often it makes it impossible to go anywhere, or even do much around the house. I got an appt. at this office with only doctor there (whose last name starts with G ), and waited nearly 3 weeks for the appt. They require their patients to fill out 15 or 16 pages of personal information, which I did, being completely honest. They also require their patients to arrive 30 minutes prior to their actual appt. time. Finally, the day of my appointment arrived, and of course there was a long time in the waiting room. After finally being led back into one of their little rooms, and answering again all the questions on their papers, the guy told me the doctor would be in in just a minute. A while more of waiting, and then a girl came in to tell me that Dr. G. didn't think I was a good fit for what he did!!!!!!!!! She couldn't really tell me why, except to say that he liked to use physical therapy, etc. in his practice. Well, why in the heck wasn't I told that when I called for the appt. 3 weeks ago? If so, I could have found another doctor, and not have wasted 3 weeks waiting for absolutely nothing!!!! So here I am, having waited 3 weeks for the appt. with a pain doctor whose job, I thought, was to try to alleviate his patient's pain... But he didn't think 'we were a good match', so now I have to start all over again to find a doctor, get an appt., and wait to see that doctor. I was unable to drive to my appt., so I had to get a friend to leave work to take me across town for this "non-appointment." Not only did I waste my own time,,, but I wasted the time of a good friend who should have been at work rather than sitting in a doctor's office for no reason! My friend heard a gentleman come out from his appt., talking about how unhappy he was with Doctor G. and his appt.... that he would never be back, and that he was going to find another doctor. My mother who lives in Venice, FL. (82 years old) is staying with me in New Jersey. Within the…read morepast year and a half she has had a stroke, broke her rotary cuff, had back surgery, has had corona, has Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD and was diagnosed with Pneumonia Two times. To say this has been a trying year is an understatement. She was recently released from the hospital for pneumonia and we brought her to stay with us in New Jersey to hopefully get her moved back up here (stubborn). While she has been up here she started coughing up brown flem. So we called her Doctor to see if they could prescribe something to help ease the cough. When we called we spoke to the receptionist who told us it was after hours (even though it was 4:30 and they close at 5:00) and that they would have to call the after hours doctor and see if he could prescribe medicine. About a half an hour later Dr. Phifer calls he did not say who he was on the phone (phone was on speaker). And when my mom asked him a couple of times he was very very rude (he said yeah what do you want, (among other non-professional words) and said you called me. I got on the phone and told him he was on speaker and that she is very sickly and that was no way to speak to her. From my little experience i had with him he was rude, could care a less about her and just wanted to get off the phone. I think we were interrupting his 4th of July weekend. Never in my 53 years have i heard a doctor be so rude to a patient. If i didn't hear it for myself i would not have believed it. If he spoke that way to my very sick mother how does he treat other patients who do not have the strength or understanding of how to even write a comment.
