Our initial meeting took place online through email where I booked and sorted out details with Caroline. She was fantastic with communicating, answering all of my many questions and getting back to me promptly. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Caroline. She was very warm and welcoming. She lead us to our room and gave us the details we needed for our stay. Our room was nice and very cozy, there was a little welcome gift which was very sweet. We stayed in the family room. There was just the right amount of space. It had one double bed and one single bed. The room was nicely decorated, fresh and inviting. The bathroom was nicely updated. There was plenty of lighting a ceiling chandelier and two lamps. The room had two windows and one on the ceiling in the bathroom. Our room was stocked with soft robes, heating pads, bottled water, all natural bathroom products, tea, coffee, and delicious sugar cubes. It was very easy to make ourselves at home. Caroline provided a heater for us and a little mini refrigerator. She also allowed us to use the microwave in the kitchen and the refrigerator since we were staying for some time. We greatly appreciated that and it truly helped us to be able to "eat in" rather than always eating out and also provide our toddler with fresh meals all throughout the the day. The B&B was never cold and the temperate was always just right and very comfortable. The B&B is located in the perfect spot near everything in Trim. It took about a 2-3 minutes to get everywhere. It was such a cute little town and had everything we needed. Very grateful for the Super Value. Breakfast was served 8:30am-10am everyday. We didn't make it down too often since we were still adjusting to the 8 hour time difference but the times we did make it to breakfast, it was excellent. Absolutely delicious. I believe Caroline cooked breakfast and if she did, she's a fantastic cook! This is a Family run business. Caroline's Mother was extremely sweet, warm and kind. She was so nice to us and made us feel right at home whenever we encountered her. Caroline's Brother was warm and welcoming as well. This is the kind of business where you will likely always be treated nicely and receive excellent service. Anything we needed, we just asked and they were happy to help. The cost of our stay was very reasonable. Our over all experience was wonderful and and we would highly recommend staying at the Caravogue House B&B.

The good things were that the staff were all very friendly, the food at the restaurant was not too expensive and quite tasty with big portions, and the showers were nice. They also supplied basic toiletries, a kettle with coffee, tea and biscuits, and the wifi was pretty good. The negatives were that the hotel is quite old so I found the rooms to be quite cold and the carpet was a bit dirty. The cleaning staff also don't seem to hover when they clean your room, only between guests. Also, there's no mini fridge but at least there is a hair dryer and TV. The breakfast was pretty nice albeit basic. It's not a buffet so you have to order exactly what you want, but they have the usual things like eggs (poached, fried, scrambled, boiled etc. ), full Irish, cereals, fruit yoghurt etc. The coffee was also pretty good. They have a hot carvery and deli bar at lunch, and the restaurant is open for dinner until around 9pm. The hotel is quite convenient in that it's really near the shopping area and Trim castle as well as Apple green petrol station. If you drive, you can use the gym and leisure facilities at the Knightsbrook hotel for free which has a pool, gym, golf court and sauna. Otherwise, Aura leisure centre is only a 6 minute walk away and costs only 5 euro to use the gym. Overall, basic but maintains quality and standard. Rooms are around 145 euro/ night with breakfast.

It certainly isn't over-the-top and tacky, rather it is a perfect balance of functional and refined. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They attended to our every need with the courtesy and graciousness you should expect. The conservatory, where breakfast and the initial reception was held, was very warm and comfortable. Separated from the bar for privacy, but close enough to where you had access. Upstairs, the ballroom facility was fantastic. It definitely was not like similar hotels which featured "conference rooms" and passed them off as reception areas. No, this was different - a proper ballroom with a bar, wooden floors, and beautiful lighting. A private balcony for smokers and a private WC was also available. The food was tasty and filling. It was not your typical catered food, but rather was of quality and flavour. I was filled and satisfied. The rooms themselves were very nice. Comfortable bedding, nice facilities, and reasonably priced. The full Irish breakfast that came with the room was gorgeous, especially the black pudding. I can't reiterate enough how attentive the managers and serving staff were. Always polite, discreet, and eager to please. Price-wise this could not be beat. Seriously. They definitely want your business and have a proper attitude as to who the customer is. While many contemporary hotels seem to act as if they are doing you a favour and are eager to squeeze every last Euro out of you - the Castle Arch has a much more fair and respectable approach. Their prices were significantly less expensive then their contemporaries and the quality of the facilities and service were certainly higher. The savings on price will not require a sacrifice in outcome or result. I'm seriously impressed. With elegance and class they treat you, the customer, like a king. I couldn't recommend them enough for negotiating a wedding, 21st, anniversary party, or Christmas party.

The rooms were very nice and warm, I was lucky in that I got one of the bigger rooms but some of my friends had gotten small rooms. The beds were comfy, and room came equipped with a kettle, tea/coffee, shower gel, soup, shower caps, hairdryer and an ironing board. The only thing that I really bugged me about most hotels in Ireland is the lack of a mini fridge, which is the one thing that I really look for in hotels, and a hotel without one is just disappointing. The breakfast was not great compared to the other hotels I've stayed in in that they hardly have anything. On the self serve table, there's only fruit, bread, cereal and fruit yoghurt. You could order a hot breakfast for an extra charge though, so the very poor selection= one star deduction. There is no gym or fitness center and no elevator/ wheelchair access, so this place just gets a 3 star rating for the nice warm rooms, free but unstable Wifi and friendly staff. Otherwise they would have gotten 2 stars for facilities and food alone. Overall: A basic hotel that is cheap and sufficient for a short stay (not as long as I did!) We had a difficult time coming up with adequate words to describe Broadmeadow Country House. I…read morethink our 22 year old said it best on her Facebook page, "I've found Heaven and it's in Ireland at Broadmeadow Country House". From the moment we stepped inside and were greeted by owner, Sandra Duff, we knew our hope of finding our perfect Irish getaway for years to come had been found. We immediately felt at home and settled into our beautifully appointed room, complete with meadow view of grazing horses from the 40+ horse farm housed on the property. The beds were wonderful and the closet and dressers were beautiful antiques. The in-house spa treatments were some of the best we've experienced and were so reasonable, we almost felt the pricing must be wrong. Both Paul and Sandra were over the top gracious hosts, knowing just how to be accommodating, but also giving us our space to the point we felt it was truly our home for a week. Breakfasts were authentic, plentiful and always on time and we never felt rushed as we sat in the bright dining room overlooking the expansive grounds. On our last day, we had to depart the home at 5am, and were so pleased to find a fresh pot of coffee and warm toast and bagels ready to go, what a thoughtful gesture! Not wanting to see Ireland as a tourist, we had some unusual requests for our hosts, i.e. finding a fox hunt for us to experience. Without any hesitation, they found a local Irish family, not more than 10 minutes away that welcomed us into their home and treated us like family and allowed us to join in all the festivities of their pre-hunt as we saw the hunters, horses, and hounds off! Because we brought along a GPS with Ireland maps, we were able to enter all of the location coordinates, which made our many adventures by car easy, including taking us right there.

I also stayed in a twin room on the first floor which is much smaller but still good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the decor is crisp and clean, and there's free wifi! Bad points: The cleaning staff don't really clean the room very well. They forgot to replace used cups and spoons a few times as well as the soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Also, there's only one desk chair in the rooms, even the twin rooms so me and my friend both couldn't use the desk at the same time. The room was spacious and bed size was great but the bed is one mattress on a board and was not the most comfortable but adequate. The room had modern furniture which didn't appear very clean but the bathroom and rest of the room was clean except the carpet floor. It had been vacuumed well but didn't look clean. The room was VERY hot, no air conditioner. There was a nice fan and the window barely opened to allow cooler outside air in. No outlet near the window to plug the fan in to draw cool are in so it had to be plugged in across the room. The worse problem was NO WiFi. Checked in about 4:00pm. no WiFi. Called the front desk and they said they would reboot the service and retry in 20 minutes. Went to dinner, came back still no WiFi. Called the desk about five times but they wouldn't answer the phone or return the phone call. About 6:00 I went down to the desk. She apologized and said she'd send someone up. I called back down after no one came to the room. About 9:00pm an IT guy came and said we were right, there was no internet connection and he'd go reboot the system. Bedtime and still no WiFi. The next morning and still no WiFi. Called the desk, asked for a manager and was told he doesn't come in until 9:00am but he'd relay the message. NOT ONCE DURING THE WHOLE TIME DID ANYONE CALL OR COME TO THE ROOM TO MAKE SURE WIFI WAS UP AND RUNNING. Poorest service I've had in Ireland. I'd never stay here again.
