The staff here was very friendly no matter where I was. The place was very clean and I didn't see any trash lying around anywhere as I was walking through the airport. The layout is very easy to navigate and there are more than enough signs that are showing all the arrivals and departures and exactly where to go so you wont miss your flight. I really enjoyed that there was a handful of giftshops so I could grab a couple last minute things for friends and family back home. I also really liked how clean the bathrooms were at this airport!

More importantly, having now once gotten stuck overseas due to customs being closed in the US, knowing you'll complete customs here on the front end is a huge plus. Factor that in to your travel plans (don't worry, TSA pre-check and Global Entry are in full swing). I loved being able to just 'walk out' after arriving back in the states from Dublin.

Well... probably THE worst taxi company I've ever come accross…read more yes, it's 20% offf but unless your willing to put up with the rude, incompetant staff and drivers that they have there, your better off going for a different taxi company that is really only 2-3 euro more expensive. Not only was the man on the phone, the receptionist, rude and a generally vile person to deal with on the phone, he was probably as useful as a rice cracker! The driver turned up... but for about a minute drove off and then rang my number. What use is that ringing me and then driving off? I rang the company back and they said they could not send another driver or the same one as when he arrived there was someone staring out the window at him and made no effort to come out. This might be believable if there had been anyone else in the house at the time apart from myself.... but there wasnt. Just me and I certainly didnt stare out the window at him, no beep, no phone call to say he areived until after he left. Called a differwnt company and got a polite and friendly driver and an even more efficient man dealing with me on the phone. DON'T CALL ASAP unless your willing to put up with rude people and seemingly bad drivers.

This is it... the only taxi service you can rely on (short of flood, famine or 3am -in which case…read moreyou may need to wait an extra 10 minutes) for fast pick ups practically anywhere in Dublin. Having operated under a few different names over the years, the current Co Op Taxi service draws on a wide network of drivers who are usually within 5 /10 minutes of a pick up destination. Outside of regulated fare costs there are no additional fees for this service -although you may feel obliged to tack on a Thank You for the polite (even charming) manner of the drivers ferrying you about town. The phone-in booking system is a breeze, with hold times greatly reduced now that the service is fully up and running. Within two minutes callers should be able to book their car -frequent users can cut that back even more by registering their phone number with the company. Currently, the only drawback is the missing / broken website which will allow online bookings once all is repaired.

The train operator for the Republic of Ireland with its main hub in Dublin but spokes leading out to much of the Republic. I did not take any of the long distance trains, just commuter hops on the line between Connolly Station and Maynooth (Maigh Nuad in Gaelic). Most of the time, the trains were on time. Smooth running, clean, efficient, with wifi on board. Never completely crowded except the rush hour schedule which is understandable. I did once almost miss a train because it's nearly time to depart but the track is empty. I learned from one of the staff in Connolly Station that the app might indicate one track number (in this case, Track 4) but the displays in the station show a different track number (Track 7).
