Angry and disgusted isn't strong enough a word to use to describe "Aloha Big Island Weddings"…read more After weeks of non returned emails and phone calls, we've just realized that our the company we paid to provide our wedding photography and officiant services no longer has a live website or working phone number. After some determined research to track down who has ran off with our money, we've figured something out - "Aloha Big Island Weddings" is Kona Weddings. How do we know - "Call immediately to see if your date is still available! We book up to 24 months in advance! Do not hesitate...Call immediately, or your date will be taken ...you don't need to pay any money. There is NO charge and NO obligation." Same wording that got us to book on their website that is no longer there. Look at the reviews for Kona Weddings. They've apparently made a business out taking people's money and not giving people what they paid for. I guess the Yelp review started getting so bad, they decided to change the name instead of giving couples what they pay for. Thankfully we're only out $150, but judging by what we've read, we're not the only ones. Be warned "Aloha Big Island Weddings" is Kona weddings. Read the reviews and don't get scammed like we did.

Cheryl went out of her way to accommodate every detail and request we asked for, from having our ukulele player learn our song (They Love Each Other by The Grateful Dead) on a weeks notice, to exploring every single option available to try and find a same-sex cake topper on Hawaii at the very last minute. When my mother wanted to be a sleuth to try and figure out our hotels, etc so she could do something, I put her in touch with Cheryl thinking she'd help her arrange dinner or a spa day at our hotel. Little did I know that Cheryl was talking to my mother and my mother-in-law almost daily, accommodating their requests and in the end keeping the big secret that our mothers paid for the entire day, photographer and wedding dinner. But even more special, Cheryl worked closely with them to give them the opportunity to put their small touches on our ceremony. Cheryl revealed the surprise after the ceremony and I can't tell you how special that was for us. Cheryl made it possible for our mothers to be part of our elopement and I can't thank her enough.
