He told them Medicare. If doctors actually cared the first question would be what kind of problem are you experiencing? But, no, it's "what insurance do you have"? Then they asked which doctor he wanted to see. He told them one of the men I forget which one. They then told him that, sorry, only one of our doctors is accepting Medicare. Oh, that's brilliant. Why doesn't it say that on the list of insurance that you accept? Next to Medicare it should say Dr. So and so only. The rest are more concerned about their money than actually helping you which is why they don't accept Medicare because that cuts into their paycheck. Well, Medicare is all he has. He's disabled and on disability. Like millions of other people who worked all their lives this is all he has now and this place won't give him the time of day. Then they asked which medication he's already taking. He told them. They placed him on hold and came back and told him that due to the fact that he's already taking controlled substances they can't accept him as a patient. What!?! These "controlled substances" he's already taking are prescriptions from another doctor and have nothing to do with this place. He was looking for a family doctor to help him with everything else, like when he's sick, not the medicine he is already getting elsewhere for other reasons. Any medicine prescribed by a doctor is a controlled substance. That's why you have to go to a doctor to get it. So if you're seeing a separate doctor for specialized reasons but still need a family doctor for basic reasons don't bother with these money-hungry jerks. This is absolutely outrageous. None of these charlatans should be allowed to call themselves doctors. All they care about is their money, not you. If you're poor, don't have good insurance or any insurance, disabled, on Medicare, already getting medicine from another doctor, etc, don't even bother calling this place. All they care about is their money. They don't care if you die.

Those laws? They require them to buy a roll of regulation paper to write prescriptions (I know, because I've taken it for two decades). I offered to take a test or whatever was needed to prove/make them comfortable with my diagnosis, which has been updated in the last 2 years, and they were still super sketchy about it. What kind of doctors office is not comfortable with maintaining basic adherence to drug laws and regulations enough to write a prescription for a very straightforward and diagnosed need? If they are not keeping up with basic laws and regulations in this area you can bet they are not modernizing in other ways as well. Stay away from these people. What an incredibly sketchy practice.

The tech was friendly, efficient and I was walking out 15 minutes later. I guess I recommend. But honestly, no body wants to have to see the folks here. Stay healthy my friends, and avoid the need to visit these folks.

I decided to go to UrgentCare of Louisiana one week after I became ill and 4 days of laringitus and just not feeling better. Dr. Anisha Turner is the BEST! She took tests and found I had Strep Throat. Not only did she give me a steroid shot, she prescribed me FIVE other meds that kicked in immediately and by that night I was 50% better and the next day I was 80% back to my healthy self. I took a chance coming here after a doctor at an urgent care only diagnosed 1/3 of my major issues then gave me the wrong medicine. At Healthcare Express I saw Dr. Bricker and he was so friendly and excited to do his job. He knew EXACTLY what I needed. After suffering from a throat, ear and sinus infection for four days he gave me two injections and penicillin. I was feeling 80% better within hours!! Very knowledgeable man with great morals and more than 25 years of experience. He puts the patients health first. I would recommend he and his staff to anyone who needs medical attention!

Expressed to the nurse they would benefit from updating patients about the wait, only to be told that's the front desk's job. X-ray tech asked if I'd been waiting long, and when I replied, "yes, very", she and her colleague just discussed that it had been a long day. Not one person apologized for the wait. I understand that things happen, but a little respect for patients' time and a simple apology would go a long way. There were three of us in the waiting room with the same complaints.
