I love that they have a "great room" in the center of the facility and that the classrooms lead out to their outside yard where there are alot of space and play options. My daughter adjusted super quickly, it was her first time in care and she was only going 3 days a week, but she would have loved to be there every day if she could. I highly recommend Writestart and their team, leaving your child with someone is not an easy choice but I am super happy with my choice.

I would definitely recommend this school to anyone seeking preschool care. I have previous…read moreexperiences with Kindercare and Wee Tech preschool. During my many visits to other schools I have noticed a distinct lack of attention and care that my kids need! When you first enter WriteStart you are either greeted by Caroline or Laura, they are both great people. My daughter really loves Caroline (it could be all the band aids and love - but who's counting), Denice is often in the kitchen and makes these delicious burritos every Wednesday (and although I encourage her to open her own restaurant, she is very happy at work!)... I take my daughter, Angie, into her class, her teachers (Sylvia and Holly) are there to greet her and make her feel at home.. The first time I dropped Ang off, she was crying and so was I. By the end of the week, Angie didn't want to go home at night! My other child Cecilia, really excelled during after school hours there. We weren't able to get her into the after school program, so I needed to have a school that was available during my hours! This place has been great! I've been trying to find more websites to tell people about this school!

This place is nothing short of AMAZING…read more Being a first-time foster parent and even first time parent... I was overwhelmed. I was not expecting to get a 3.5yo. I work from home most days, and it's kind of hard to work with a 3.5yo running around. In a panic, I quickly searched for some pre-schools in the area. I called a few and wasn't overly impressed... Head Start seemed like a GovCo kinda place that wasn't excessively welcoming... When I called Joan Richards Learning Village, I had a great feeling just talking to them on the phone. I went in to get the paperwork rolling and felt the warmest welcome into the family there. They were kind, sympathetic, knowledgeable, compassionate, and I could go on and on. I was able to get the ball rolling and get the registration completed. I was getting the kid excited for school and all to make the transition easier. About a week before the start date, there was a family visit, and the mother was a no-show. The poor kid was DEVASTATED. I figured I'd take him to his school that he was excited to see just to take a peek inside to distract him a bit. They welcomed him in and took him on a tour to see everything! He was so excited, and quickly, his mood changed from ruined to ecstatic! He was back to being a happy kid. Every staff member there is absolutely fantastic! You can feel that they all WANT to be there, not just show up to collect a check. They are all passionate about their job, and their love for the kids shows every day. They are all kind, compassionate, and patient with the little ones. I've yet to see anyone working there that was not a fantastic person. Every staff member takes personal responsibility to ensure every kid is cared for. I'm not an overly emotional person... but the love and care that the staff has for these kids gets me a little misty-eyed at times. I know I can leave my foster son there, and he will be safe and well cared for. Words cannot explain how amazing the staff makes this place. Nothing short of amazing.

My kids been going here for a while...they present themselves as good but overtime you really see…read moresome staff are very rude, indeed super! Especially the supervisors and the office staffs in the office. My child had just brought a teeny tiny candy (a small bit) on her hand from the car and didn't throw it away. One of the side staff of the office that was in the room just freaked out as if she was bringing in measles or something, it was hilarious! For over 2 years, we have ALWAYS complied to their rules but just this one time, they freaked out saying..."no no no we can't allow candies on and anywhere on school ground, it's absolutely not allowed, many kids have food allergies, no no out out right now, right now, get her OUT OUT! Go go go all the way OUT!!!" I took my kid out to toss it away, washed her hand and went back. That same lady with her face still blown and serious as if my kid is bringing in an epidemic disease or something...looked me in the eye and start fussing again LOL as if her world was going to explode!!! then she start out saying again as if I was death the first time! She even went to my other kid in the other room to investigate her and took her candy still in its package. Wow, just so desperately in pain, something is getting her all hyped up! She scolded at me again, "no we absolutely cannot allow any candy at school grounds, do not ever bring it again. We have food allergies and can pose health risks. Do you understand? Absolutely not on anywhere on ground here. Does ....(other child) also have it too?" Well you're holding it!!!! You went and investigate the other child too and why are you asking me? I said, I understand. Kids sometimes will be kids and she had just slipped from car and didn't finish. It's just the first time for over 2 years being here." She kept rolling her eyes and trying to get her last word...saying no no no you can't have it...it's absolutely not allowed. Her and their approach are very cruel and rude. I think from coming here a long time and we knowing each other, she and the other teacher in their should have shown some respect and just remind us because children do make mistakes when some days don't go right. Just a small piece of bit of candy shouldn't make this much of a dispute and problem between us. It's been said that people shouldn't make such small things a big mountain or hurdle between friends and people in general, causes a lot of mistrust and disappointment. I honestly lost my trust in the office staffs. Not necessarily at the teachers but at the staff, that specific lady that was always wandering the rooms, because of her rudeness towards parents whose child is a super good child. I am proud of my child in that room especially because I know she is a wonderful child as I've nursed her and come to know she listens. She was saddened and feel threatened by them when She was forced not to step in and get out at the moment, clueless and frustrated. So after I explained to her she went in still feeling shame guilt and feeling horrible by the look on her face. This facility usually by my experience make kids feel guilty by screaming and scolding at the kids (some of the teachers and staff). This time really made me angry and I lost trust in their friendship and guidance to a successful and honorable leadership. I think they could have just said it nicely instead of scolding and freezing the whole class from looking and making my child seem like she was in trouble especially coming from an outsider of the day to day base classroom instruction. I had already understood it the first sentence, just overly yelling makes it seem all too serious as if it's court or something doesn't prove them moral or virtuous. If she wants us to really get punished and feel bad, how can we ever return back to this environment? I mean my kids do make a big difference in being the foundation of the school environment right? Moreover, if all things under gone scientific investigations and proved my kid's small piece of candy to cause all the kids to get sick. Heck, I'll even pay for all their medical bills!!!! But why all the nasty cough and infections that have spread to the whole school and my child being sick for over 6 months no recovered from the cough did I NOT say one word of complaint to them of their lack of care in washing their hands or telling other parents to not take their sick kids to school. I mean the cough my kids caught here along with the lice and hand and foot mouth disease really was getting everyone sick in OCt, Nov and Dec 2018. They got this all wrong and messed up. Their perception was too blindfolded and too narrow on this small matter. My kid had suffered more compared to this piece of candy that If made anyone sick, I'll pay for it on top of having them pay for my child's pain and suffering for over 6 months.

She came from a traditional play-based preschool, and I was initially unsure about Montessori, but it has been one of the best decisions we've made. The thematic units are thoughtfully planned, and she comes home excited to teach us about continents, animals, science, and so much more. The individualized approach allows each child to learn at their own pace, and she has been able to work well above grade level in math and language. The teachers are wonderful--not only do they provide an excellent academic foundation, but they've also done an incredible job helping my daughter develop emotional regulation and confidence. She genuinely loves going to school every day. They strike a great balance between a rigorous curriculum and fun, engaging activities, and the facility is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend this school!

She comes home sharing all the things she has learned, singing songs and looking for books or toys she can share that goes with their monthly unit. He comes home singing songs, pointing to colors and counting. He talks a lot about his friends and teachers. We love seeing the pictures of the kids working and doing fun activities each month. It is so nice to know that they are safe and taken well care of. It is even nicer that the director and staff go above and beyond for the kids. They truly care about their happiness and growth!
