My two sons attended the insect investigators summer camp at Riverbend nature center June 15th…read morethrough 19th 2026 before enrolling I specifically inform the camp that one of my sons is autistic and and discuss his needs with staff I was assured that he would be accommodated and supported. During camp my 9-year-old autistic son reported that a male camp counselor roughly handled him and squeezed his shoulder causing him pain my son reported yelling out ow you're hurting me. My 11-year-old son witnessed the interaction first hand. Earlier that same day my 9-year-old son had a painful blister on his foot according to my son the counselor repeatedly and harshly demanded he put his shoe back on throughout the day my son reported that each time he explained that the shoe was hurting his foot no basic first aid assistance or a Band-Aid was ever offered and I was never contacted despite living 7 minutes away. By the end of the day my 9-year-old son told me he had a bad headache that the counselor had been exceptionally hard on him and that he did not want to return to camp and see that staff member again. My 11 year old son also reported being distressed by repeated angry outburst from the same camp counselor and did not want to return to camp the following day I immediately reported my concerns to camp administration and requested that my son's being moved to another group they can't fail to fully reassure me that my children would be safe and protected going forward as a parent I ultimately felt I had no choice but to withdraw both of my sons from the camp to keep them safe. I requested the camps written policies regarding physical contact between camp counselors and campers on four separate occasions and have still not received them. As a parent of a child with autism and as someone who has professional training and safe not forceful guiding techniques for children I am sharing my experience to bring awareness to the situation and to advocate for my son's and other children attending camp here.

The restaurant and Bar provide amazing options so you don't need to leave the hotel to find dinner! I love their hamburger! Delicious! This last week was my 3rd stay here! The best perk for Elite Status travelers: the Delta Pantry! They made fresh chocolate chip cookies on Wednesday night. I was also surprised to see vanilla ice cream cups in the pantry... 15 seconds in the microwave and that cookie melted like it made for holding that ice cream! The combination was a sweet treat! Other provisions: snacks, bottled water, bottled sparkling water, juice, canned Pepsi products. For breakfast, they provide various muffins, bagels, an pastries. They have cream cheese packets and a variety of creamers or almond milk for your freshly brewed coffee! I am usually here for 3+ days at a time, the staff make this place feel like home. The housekeeping staff are the absolute best! So friendly! So fun to talk to! I wish I would have asked your name! This will always be my crash pad when I'm in Wichita Falls! You truly go above and beyond!

**donations accepted**…read more A modest venue on the campus of Midwestern state university, this museum was a really wonderful detour in our day. Staff encouraged social distancing as well as provided hand sanitizer at the front door. The Vernon Fisher exhibit was marvelous, only complaint no prints available, and no merchandise with the exhibits showing to take home. After browsing the internet I see almost none available of this artist so it may not be the museums choice. Had a lovely conversation with the director, the other young lady we talked to in the facility was very friendly and helpful, clean and open environment. I did however grab a fun metal piece for my mom and a coloring book for myself.

I've been going to the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University from time to time…read moreover the years and finally got around to writing a proper review. I should note that I go there for both events hosted with several organizations and to enjoy some art exhibits. The layout of the museum portion is quite impressive, leaving quite a bit more floor space for larger exhibits that don't hang on walls. There are, of course, walls for the hanging arts, including additional exhibit halls. The staff there is also very helpful and friendly too.
