I wanted to share some thoughts for consideration when enrolling with Wee Watch. Initially, we had a great experience with our care provider for almost a year. However, two weeks before my return to work, I received a text from the provider shortly after dropping off my son. She mentioned that he was having a tantrum and "screaming very loud, scaring all the children." I asked if I should pick him up or if he had calmed down. She responded that he had calmed down but added, "you need to speak to him, and if this continues, I will not be able to handle it." This was unsettling, especially since he had just turned three. As a parent, hearing that made us question our son's happiness and well-being in her care, so I picked him up. We ultimately decided to give our two weeks' notice as required by Wee Watch. However, I believe it is unfair to enforce a two-week notice period when the care provider is the one expressing she "can't handle it." While they offered to find another provider, with limited space and the suggestion that the current provider would receive additional support on how to communicate better with families, we still felt uncomfortable returning to someone who expressed difficulty in handling a typical three-year-old's behavior. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with 20 years of experience, I understand that tantrums are developmentally appropriate at this age. Wee Watch's philosophy of supporting all children through various developmental stages wasn't fully reflected in this situation. I want to emphasize that there was no conflict with the provider; we were always open to addressing any behavioral concerns. However, I believe it's important for providers to be adequately trained to handle the challenges that come with caring for young children, or they might want to reconsider the age group they care for. read more

I've been with my provider Angela M for the last 2 years and I will dread the day that I ever have to switch. The first day my daughter went to Angela (first and only daycare) she cried like all one year olds do when I had to leave, the second day my daughter was arms wide open and NO tears ! It made me sad but made my heart whole knowing that I picked the right provider to care for my daughter when I can't, I trust Angela and now Cassie(her daughter with wee watch) completely with my daughters health/well-being/education etc. My daughter loves daycare so much that I have to remind her to say bye to me when I drop her off these days, everyone in the wee watch office here in Barrie that I've felt with has been a pleasure, honestly if your looking for a provider for your children trust wee watch, you will be great full you did ! read more

My son has been attending Shanan's home daycare weekly and every other Saturday. He also attends Carries home daycare every other Saturday. These places are a little slice of home away from home. He's been going for just about a year and he's building life skills going to these daycares. He's understanding more and more every time he comes home and it's exciting to see him experience friendships! My son is a only child and I love dropping him off knowing his friends are there, the excitement in his face when he knows he's going to see his best friends always make it so worth it. These home daycares are really building up their confidence to tackle school and really be independent! read more

When we first signed up with wee watch they sent up a couple of appointment with home caregivers in our area which took a good part of the stress away. Our little one fell in love with Wendy right away, something we were so thankful for coming from a center to a home daycare. And we have had no regrets! The option for back up daycare especially ones willing to work with allergies was such a relief! Pam's reports when she stops by to visit Wendy and the kids is a nice touch. Gavin in the office is great for a email response when you forget the schedule or a policy detail. They say it takes a village and that couldn't be more true!! read more

I had my son in wee watch care before I started to work for them and he loved it!! So did I :) he received the best care, more than a parent could wish for their child and he had so much fun. I loved getting pictures of him during the day doing fun activities and I loved to hear about fun things he learned while in care. We recently worked with WeeWatch to find our daycare provider, and we couldn't be happier :) We were originally on the waiting list for several daycare centres, but due to covid none of them had opened their infant rooms yet, so we were in a bit of a bind.
