I love shopping here- the seafood dept is pretty much a go to for our house. I like monkfish tacos and they have the best price and the portions are perfect for a family of three. I also like that I can get fresh clams already in a container so I don't need to shuck them myself, which is very easy for the clams in white sauce. Staff at the fish section are always friendly and if I am not sure about a fish/shellfish, they point me in the right direction for what I need for whatever recipe I am making. Meat section is expensive, but I like the cuts and the freshness of the items, they have fresh rabbit which I am huge fan of eating in stew. Lamb is also very much a staple so they have plenty of options, bone in, bone out, chops and legs. Produce is everything I need especially hard to find items like lemon grass. I do like the pre cut fruits so they have watermelon and mango which is perfect for lunches and after dinner dessert. Deli section the guys are very nice and always slice what I need, sometimes I ask for the end pieces and they are ok with weighing and wrapping it, I have been to other markets and they give attitude or refuse to weigh and wrap it for me. If it is the case, it can be sold!! So, is Wegman's a little pricier than other markets, yes, but you really can't surpass the quality and variety of items. I shop here twice a month and on average spend between $250.-$400. depending on shopping needs for the weeks food items. I also have to add a comment on the restrooms, I can only comment of the ladies, once I made the mistake and went to the staff ladies lounge restroom.. but both the public and staff are clean and well stocked with the basics. read more

If you're looking for a high end grocery store that carries top quality everything, this is the stop for you. It's not just a grocery store but like a mini restaurant with multiple kiosks inside that has some speciality menu like bakery, sushi, etc. They do have an allocated meat section with the freshest cuts and high quality seafood in that department. The inventory of grocery goods might be not as diverse as some markets, but they got a decent section of everything; never had a problem with product selection. Facilities and dining areas are always kept well cleaned and maintained. In fact it's a great place to lounge around and relax to grab a quick bite while shopping. Staff have always been courteous & professional, making my overall shopping experience pleasant. Only down side is cost and parking. You are definitely paying a premium price for everything but with good reason. Parking has always been annoying as this place seems to always be packed. I usually end up parking pretty far away, but the walk isn't too bad. Overall, amazing place to shop at if you're looking to buy high quality groceries, especially your meats & seafoods! So not only is this also grocery store, they have an entire section of literally just cheese and they have a whole pharmacy. Popped in here on a whim while in the area for a sports event. My friends, and I all agreed that it seemed like a very traditional busy Wegmans. Unlike the one we are used to the seating area if you're eating on site is upstairs. They also don't have quite as large of a hot food selection as we are used to by ours, but by no means was this a terrible store. Typical groceries and fresh produce as you would expect. Everything looked fresh and on point. Since we mainly popped in for lunch, a couple of us got some subs, premade sandwiches, sushi, and some platters of fruit. Wegmans has certainly gone downhill since I've started coming here years ago. The selection of organic produce, meat etc is slim to say the least. The shelves are barely stocked and inconsistent. I NEVER find what I'm looking for which sends me looking elsewhere ALWAYS. Although it's conveniently located to my home I will be shopping elsewhere. This is overly crowded store. Even then it's well stocked and organized. You can always see staff stocking the shelves. They have wine & liqour section, pharmacy and everything else in between. I have always liked Wegmans, immaculate store with Fresh fruit, Fresh Vegetables, wonderful meat and fish departments.....all that comes at a price. I would estimate that Wegmans prices are anywhere from 10-20 percent higher than Shoprite. Wegmans has done the best job of any supermarket handling COVID19. All carts are disinfected constantly, hand sanitizer is visible. There are a ton of employees there to help with a smile. Wegmans has many items and brands that you will not find in a regular grocery store. My wife and I have been shopping there regularly since COVID19 because of the way they handle the issues. I love their cheese department, their seafood is fantastic, clams are clean and fresh while their fruit and vegetables are farm fresh. read more

First and foremost, I grew up in Central NY so I hold Wegmans very close to my heart. On the other hand, it also means that I know the level of professionalism and customer service I am suppose to receive. It really upsets me to say that I did not receive that at this particular location. Yesterday after a long day, I wanted to stop in and get a sub from Wegmans. For me, food from Wegmans is a little piece of home as I grew up shopping and dining there. I checked the hours online to see if it was still open and I make my trip there. I could have ordered online for pick up but I felt like I needed the pick me up that store gives so I decided to just order there. It is about 35 minutes from where I currently reside. No where on the website does it list exactly what time they close down the sub shop but from prior knowledge I knew it was around 8. So I make my way there and get there by 7:50PM. I walk in and I see that some of the items are now being transferred to a rolling rack. I stop and ponder the menu, even though I know exactly what I want. The worker then walks away without asking if I needed anything. I then call out, are you guys still open? She then with attitude answers, "no, we close at 8". That's when I looked down at my phone and see that it was 7:53. Annoyed from the whole interaction I just leave because clearly she was in no mood to bother with a customer. Normally I would have gotten the sub and shopped around a little. With that interaction I was no longer in the mood to shop at all I have on several occasions during my life came to Wegmans to get food late like this and was never turned away, especially if all the food was still on the rack...so it could have been easily made. This is not the experience that I have ever had at any other Wegmans locations and in my life I probably have been to over 15 locations from NY to NC. I have made it a mission to visit and support Wegmans everywhere I go that there is one but this one left a sour taste in my mouth, even though I didn't get to try their sub last night. I hope this is a rare occurrence but it is not likely I will come back to this particular location again. read more

Love Wegmans! They have fresh produce, meats, seafood, and baked goods! Not only are they fresh, but they have a good variety! Yesterday I dropped by to purchase some items for cheese fondue and was able to find everything I needed. The cheese selection is staggering and I did need some assistance but I found a staff member willing to help and very pleasant! I used the self checkout yesterday, and a staff member noticed I bought baked goods and offered me a large bakery bag. That was a nice gesture! Wegmans does a great job for valentine's day. There were so many options to make your loved one feel extra special, from beautiful bouquets, balloons, valentine inspired baked goods, chocolates, stuffed animals, and greeting cards. I haven't been to Wegmans in a while and my sentiments haven't changed. I really love the variety of natural and organic foods and it's really to navigate the aisles to find what you need. The only things are, it is super busy, and prices are slightly higher than Shoprite or Stop and Shop. The parking situation is madness because of the volume of people shopping here. Still, I'm willing to brave the crowds so I don't have to make multiple stops at other markets to get what I need. Once the gold standard of grocers, this celebrated chain seems to have fallen off a cliff. Wegmans made a decision years ago to leverage their enviable brand name and dramatically expand their private label offerings while limiting the number of national brands available. It was a brilliant move at the time and apparently very lucrative. Then came the pandemic and those same national brands who were producing Wegmans private label goods decided their own brands took precedence, severely curtailing supply to the store. Now, depending on the day, there are shortages on everything from cat litter to frozen spinach and beyond. I still like to shop here but with every visit I'm left wondering whether I am going to get stiffed on cereal, pasta sauce or some random item like canned olives. Wegmans used to be my go to destination for 99% of our grocery needs - currently, they're barely half as I have no other choice but to expand the roster of stores just to procure everyday items. Wegmans, once the ultimate no-brainer is now forcing me to think. That's not good for anyone. Two stars sounds harsh but when you once defined excellence in a category, you have much farther to fall. read more

The cashiers and workers are usually friendly and helpful at the Manalapan NJ Wegman's. i went thru the self checkout today and David asked if I needed help. I was in a motorized cart. I said yes, he chastised me because my first scanned item didnt scan. The screen had a glitch, I said no problem, I'll scan it once it clears. instead of saying okay scan it again, he said you need to be careful in the future that this doesn't happen again. While holding the item and pointing to it. Like I was a child. Instead of being testy to him I said well it's great that I have him there so it doesn't happen anymore. The level of customer service I have received over the past 6 months is very disappointing indeed. I do my ordering online and opt for curbside pickup. Each week, there are many items that are not available. And I'm not talking about specialty items, but things that should always be in stock. When I was told it was due to the fact that I was ordering for the weekend, I changed my schedule to weekdays. No, that didn't improve the situation. The order I picked up yesterday had 6 items that were refunded and 7 replacements. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. And Management gives you one lame excuse after the other. And what's worse is that Instacart does not properly train their people. Instead of asking what my other choice is, they just refund the item. Like they couldn't care less. DO NOT BUY WEGMANS CHICKEN BREASTS !!! I recently purchased two packages of Wegmans chicken breasts. They were on sale for $2.99 a pound, regular cost was $3.99. After taking them out of the package, every breast was filled with fat, and a third of each breast had to be trimmed off because it was paper thin. I found out that they stopped using Tyson as a supplier for the chicken breasts, which were the same price but much thicker, with hardly any fat. I shopped at Wegmans for deli items at 7:30 AM today. To my disappointment, the pre sliced cheeses were died out and curled up at the ends. I'm surprised at the super low ratings of this location. I've been here many times, and while it definitely doesn't have the lowest prices around... the perk of going here for me, is always the hot food section... it's like a mini smorgasborg with many different options to choose from.. hot, Japanese, bakery, pizza, fresh juices/smoothies, etc. Came here yesterday with the family for a quick bite to eat.. we were all happy with our selections.. I had a wonderfully tasty crunchy scallop roll that was super duper yummy. Added bonus, the calorie intake on the top of every container! We went upstairs to the dining area.. which was cool, as you were able to see over the shopping area downstairs. I like views. LOL. It definitely could've been cleaner at the tables, but you had many areas with plenty of every needed utensil which was really convenient. Definitely will return. read more

It breaks my heart to have to write this review, but I'm hoping the "big boys" I see marching around the store will take notice. First off, the employees are the best. Always willing to help, and always with a smile. I certainly hope they are adequately rewarded for this. PRE-PANDEMIC, this would have been my favorite, local supermarket. ( No too hard to beat Shop-Rite...absolutely hate that store.) But, of recent there have been too many changes that I am not happy with. First, the elimination of other competitive brand names. I like choices, and my choice selection on many items is dwindling. All I see is "Wegman's" brand. It's okay, on certain items, but it is starting to invade the store. There is only 1 brand of honey...you guessed it. I have a preference, and the store brand is not it. Many of the condiments, spices, pretzels...I could go on and on. Next disappointment is the bulking of fish and produce. I can't get my fish cut they way they used to. It's hit or miss, whether or not I will get what I want for dinner...and, "god-forbid", I get to the store after 3 PM, you can kiss a tuna steak good-bye. If there are any left, they are usually way to big for our needs. Since you don't "cut to order" anymore, I wind up leaving with nothing. Wegman's is totally non-competitive with soda...Coke cola or Pepsi cola for non-Wegman's brands and your prices are ridiculous! I absolutely will never buy store brand soda. So, it seems that my trips to Wegman's are getting further apart. That makes me very sad. I come, now, only when I want fish or fruit, and do my "product-choice" shopping elsewhere. It's an okay supermarket. I use to appreciate it better when it first opened up many, many years ago. However, as time went on and I realized I forgot to Yelp about this, this location has gone down in many ways. First being they carry less. Second is that the stock crew comes in later (9:00 am) and then take inventory. Afterwards, they start to put things out and that is about 10:00 am if you are lucky. The sweet time to go is at 10:30 am where everything is out but so are the people. So something that should have taken maybe 10 minutes for you to go in, select and purchase can now take triple the time. Not great if I am trying to grab some things for a staff meeting or whatnot. The third thing is the parking. Fear for your life. I find so many drivers there zooming by and I am the one who is scared out of my mind because I realized I had plenty of time to cross or walk in the lot to the store as those drivers think its the Indy 500 racetrack. It's just so unnerving. Weekends are by far the worst but when I work crazy hours and almost what feels like 24/6, I do the best I can. Now I understand why people have the groceries delived to their homes. If I lived closer to the Ocean Wegmans, I would prefer to go there. read more

Aside from it being so friggin packed I dont get it, well I do but still can't comprehend why this overpriced, dirty, pretentious hipster place still thrives...I do get why but I dont want to be so inclined to be blatantly rude. But sadly I will..you can agree to disagree, but this is only my opinion... From the prepackaged meals for the single lonely corporate person to the cooking impaired microwave users, to the organic is so much better to the I have tons of money to spend and dont care.. call me what you will..but I am unphased of this place. I am not a big fan of supermarket produce which I've made clear, prefer to keep local farmers in business. I am guilty of buying meat here once and only one time. I was disgusted by the price and quality.. no different than groceries stores except for the fact its "free range, no antibiotics blahs blahs" as for taste and quality ICK!! I happen to notice a customer buying a $30 bottle of vanilla extract..okay I would never spend that..maybe if it was an actual Madagascar vanilla bean but not the extract. I've been to a few locations and they're all the same. I understand completely paying for quality dont get me wrong if I had a 2 inch thick perfect marbled ribeye with a bone in for $20 a lb.. hell yeah I would buy it but not seeing the quality. Great place to eat. Love the pizzeria Soup bar and chafing dishes. Issue the aisles are very narrow so you have to wait for someone to exit with their carriage before you can enter the aisle. God forbid you need to look at a product on the bottom shelf you will anger your fellow customers. Lastly we appreciate the cashiers that bag your stuff and put it in your carriage for you. I avoid this supermarket at all costs. It is too packed most of the time and not roomy to move about . Top that off with New Jersey / New York type people and you have a cocktail of problems. I do like Wegmans, but hate this location because of the snooty people, I prefer the Ocean township location, people are nicer in that area. This location the staff is good and they get 4 to 5 stars , customers a 1. Quality of produce is excellent and nice variety of products. I would shop here if closer and people acted nicer. read more

The pizza made to order counter is terrible. We've been going there to order a pie every week. We tell them all time DO NOT BURN IT. Well they burned it. They said it was their oven. I was excited to try out Wegmans today, since I have not been to one in a really long time! I didn't really remember, how it was the last time I was there. So, I go again., because I've heard this place is considered the Disney World of food. So, I went in, and I was shocked. The grocery store did not sell anything special, and the selection was quite limited. I couldn't find a lot of items that I liked, or I felt that I needed. I found it very organized. I found the staff, at times with an edge, and they did not really know where anything was. Store is not very clean. Dirty and dusty gfloors everywhere. The Food is great, the employees are actually the nicest of any grocery store, but the people that shop at this Wegman's have zero grocery store etiquette. They let their carts run wild in the parking lot. they will cut you in line, and will angle their cart in an aisle so you cannot pass. Wegmans provides a nice family atmosphere. Unfortunately have observed many times that they do not listen to anything from customers. This may be the root of why they cant be trusted and so I cant shop there. In fact, I have observed they go beyond simply not listening to customers to ganging up on and let's say "bending" customer's words and facts into false allegations. One customer was attacked for complaining about Wegman's selling a product that had been recalled in the country where it was produced. The customer had 3rd party documentation stating these facts. The product was indeed subsequently recalled in the US. It did in fact contain poisonous chemicals. Very, very not nice. Other allegations were shoplifting: items their cashier missed on the conveyor belt(not hidden in any way), not immediately paying for 1/2 cup of coffee and stopping to get a salad before paying) Note that 1/2 a cup of coffee into the man's own mug costs Wegmans about 2 cents. So watch it, watch your receipts, and keep an eye on them. Last, if you try to be a regular customer Wegmans will drive you away by constantly relocating items in the store and sometimes to strange places so it is very unlikely you will find them. So you have to go to another supermarket. One example of many is moving their house brand of blue corn chips from the chips shelf to being stuffed under the fresh green beans in the produce section. I cite it because it's so weird you couldn't make it up. It happened. And, if you don't find your item, it dumbly forces you to go to another store, probably a competitor, but wastes your time. It's weird: it's dumb to drive you to a competitor and shows they simply do not care about you, the customer. You are to be used and abused whenever they wish. Nice attitude of total indifference. PS Add: I've also seen directly seen frozen chickens sold as Fresh. Unfortunately, as these examples show, this is a regular event for my list of fairly normal items. The quality is an illusion. So I can only conclude that beneath the "Family" image they project is an attitude that customers are to be exploited, driven by a shortsighted "hardnosed" but dumb business attitude.
