It was to the point that my daughter would look at the phone and not even want to answer. I guess I could be positive and say wow what an amazing doctor to call 4,000 times to check up on an infant he's saw once for a total of 4 minutes. I guess we'll see if he bills the insurance for all those calls? That's the feeling we got because there just didn't seem a reasonable answer as to why he would keep blowing up my daughters phone. His office staff all look and act miserable. His Medical Assistant was acting like she was an MD and that she knew everything about everything. He wasn't recommended by the hospital but he was the only doctor who had appointments open to see a newborn right after birth, so that's where we kinda had to go.

I said that was fine and that I would just pay for the day's visit in cash. The doctor, Dr Ricky Viator, came out to tell me that he could not see me even then because you can't pay for your visit if you have insurance. I am flabbergasted. I was so confused and amazed. I left. In my haste and disgust, I left the baby's insurance card. I sat in the parking lot calling other places for at least 10 minutes. Dr Smith, from the same practice, was willing to see me as a doctor should. I drove away at least 10 minutes before I realized I'd left the insurance card. He refused to prescribe my anti-depressants that I proved a history of taking for over 20 years (the same dose over 10 years) and wants me to take 225mg, instead of 300mg, my normal dose. A 75 mg decrease in anti-depressants can cause major symptoms including brain zaps. I am completely disgusted that my health is being risked for unknown reasons. Effexor is a non- controlled substance and with proven history decreasing my dose so abruptly will be determental. I do not recommend their care to anyone.
