This really is one out of 2 of the worst stores I have ever been to anywhere! 95% of the time you have to check yourself out and GOD forbid the service desk people have to actually do something! The only reason I gave them a 1 is because of the older lady that checked me out when I first moved to the area and had $300 worth of groceries only to find out it was all self check out! Management actually got upset when the lady offered to ring me out. Service desk closed before 5pm all the time . Not clean. Seriously not a good store at all! read more

I really don't like this grocery store. I was tempted to give it only one star... The produce section has a pitiful selection, and half of what little is there is on its' last legs. If for some reason you have no other option, be sure to check the dates on your perishable items like milk, too. I went in last Thursday to get some milk... didn't even think to check the date. Today I opened it up and it's already bad... because the date on it was last Friday. Great, guys. : ( Some of the baked goods LOOK nice, but I can't say as I've tried them because the produce and dairy sections are so bad. The only reason I haven't just stopped going to Weis is that they have the generic brand Waist Watchers soda with Splenda instead of aspartame, which I like. Clean, busy for a Sunday night - saw the manager lady kick in her delegation skills, calling cashiers up via loud speaker. About 5 lanes open fast and got everyone in and out. Would recommend making cashiers turn their lights on - I had the young man, you could tell he was taken away from whatever he was doing to ring customers up. He was polite, but you could tell he was irritated. Store was clean and fresh produce finally looked fresh - stopped coming here because food was old looking or out dated - would always find out dated items and report. Who ever was ordering in the past had no clue what they was doing. However, who ever is in charge these days WOW huge improvement. I'll be back again read more

Call me crazy, but I like this Weis. It is a lower cost, less crowded alternative to the Union Deposit Giant which is across the I-83 overpass. While it doesn't have the bells and whistles of other grocery stores, I have found their produce to be well stocked and fresh and their aisles simple and neat. The customer service is much to be desired, but you can avoid the long lines at Giant here, even if there is only 2 cashiers available. Honestly, whenever I go there, it is never crowded and I wonder how they stay afloat. It's a good grocery store for simple, in and out shopping. read more

I like a store that's clean, and offers good products. This one offered neither. The meat and seafood are disgusting. The store smells of stale, spoiled food and the bakery makes cheap, crappy baked goods. I too bought milk there and it was bad within two days. read more

Went to union deposit Weis to do grocery shopping. Got all my stuff . Cashier was ringing me up. She could not get a coupon to work. She scanned it once and it did not take the correct amount off my item, she voided it and tried it again. This time she scared it 4 times and it kept taking off a dollar. She voided it again and called the manager over to help. Manager just voided everything and told cashier she needed to start over again. All my groceries were already bagged and only cart. We had to take all my groceries out if the cart and scan them again, meanwhile I have been at the register for 15 minutes by now. I am now slightly agitated. Not my fault coupon did not scan correctly. I did not receive a any extra discount, Gift Card or anything for the inconvenience I was caused by this idiot manager.my time is just as valuable as anyone else's that is my no more of my time or money will be spent at any Weis store. This a great new store added to Weis Markets. The bar is great and the whole store is very lively and open. Weis-to-go is great as well and works perfectly. It always have everything I need . Compared to other stores like Giant, etc, it is very good. I recommend this over any other store. read more

This is the worst store in Harrisburg. It has been going downhill for years and its now somewhat dangerous to even consider buying your food from. I have gotten food here repeatedly that was moldy, expired, etc. and had to return it and get refunds. I have spent 15 minutes in the vegetable section just trying to find one bag of lettuce that wasn't' disgusting. I refuse to ever go back there again and am wondering if they intentionally buy old and disgusting food to sell it to people because they can get away with it. And the cashiers are the worst I've ever seen at any grocery store. There managers obviously don't care, because I've been in lines wishing and hoping they would open a new cash register and watching various managers (one repeatedly...a Hispanic man) just sit there and do nothing while 15 people stood in line. I don't know if Weis has female security guards or not but a woman followed me around the store then stood at the "self checkout" while I scanned all my stuff. It made me feel very uncomfortable. She was either a cop or a nutty customer. The store is in Mechanicsburg. I was going to call there and ask them if they had any female security people but chickened out. Weis also sells rotten meat. They had some pork on sale and I poked a hole in the plastic and the smell of garbage oozed out. They are scamming people. I saw their financials for the last quarter and they made a profit of $661 million. Yup... disgusting. read more

Recently made a trip to the store for some deli ham and bread. And Khalil behind the deli counter was very nice, and attentive. The store has changed decor which it desperately needed after some long years. My checkout experience was nice and prompt, I sadly cannot remember the name of the woman who checked me out but she was very nice and even laughed at my silly jokes. Overall a great improvement to this store. read more
