I'm from out of town, visiting relatives. Called them with an issue, and just had to leave a positive review. SO very nice, warm and welcoming. Friendly, caring, and takes time to talk with you. If we were in Florida full time, without question this would be our pediatrician here. The place is low average. Kids seen by mid levels only. They charged us $320 for a routine vaccine administration by an RN which literally took about 5 min of her time. When we called to complain that the vaccines are free, they told us they can charge us any amount for the vaccine administration, that is for the 5 min of RN time. We had insurance but they did not check if the insurance would cover that particular shot. read more

We have been coming here for 1 year and love the staff and Dr. Weiss. Very attentive to details and responsive to our calls. Feel so safe here during this pandemic! We were looking for a place that would be invested in helping our kids thrive, and also a place that is taking covid precautions seriously. This is that place! They are well-rounded with services. They even have breastfeeding support and child sleep care. The staff is not just super friendly--everyone I have spoken with has gone above and beyond to communicate and follow up. When we got there for an appt a few weeks ago, they had us do every part of the check-in we could from the car, there were masks available at the front desk, they had air purifiers in every room we were in, we and others that arrived were taken back to a private room quickly, the patient room we were in was stocked with hand sanitizer and other supplies, and everyone--staff and patients--were wearing masks. Weiss doesn't just have covid policies that read well, they are thoroughly protecting patients, families, and staff through action while maintaining a friendly, calm environment. We're so glad we found a practice that is invested in keeping their patients safe during COVID-19 pandemic. We're new patients, and we're really happy with Weiss so far. read more

Two visits was more than enough for me here, and I'm regretting every recommendation I have given them. After being told that if I refused the chickenpox vaccine that my 12 month son would no longer be accepted as a patient here, the "newbie" nurse who apparently doesn't get double checked when administering vaccines, gave my son a double dose of the vaccine, and the called us "because they had to". This office has always made me feel like a less than parent, and told me he's developmentally behind because he's not walking by 12 months. Not to mention that they are always behind schedule by about an hour and take no concern into your timeline at all. My advice, DONT GO HERE. They give you a false sense of security with they're friendly front office but the nurse practitioner and nurses don't have time to answer questions or double check their work before administering live vaccines into your child. I never leave reviews but if this saves one parent from experiencing what I have today it's well worth it. read more

Our family had a very poor experience at Weiss Pediatrics. We have been a part of the practice for about 3 years after moving to Sarasota and just recently had nurse Stacie cause us to want to leave the practice entirely. The staff puts the needs of their patients LAST, and their patients are kids. After voicing my concerns neither Dr. Weiss nor the office manager called to follow up with me. Wow! We were SO pleasantly surprised! During our visit in Sarasota, my child got sick, after calling a few pediatricians in the area and hearing a respond that the wait to see a doctor for a new patient is over a week or 2 especially if you are not a FL resident. Weiss pediatrics did everything possible to accommodate us and see my 10 months old that was severely ill. We were welcomed by the entire staff with smiles and warmth. EVERYONE was SO kind, caring, pleasant and professional during our entire visit there! The doctor and nurses were very knowledgeable and really took their time to answer my questions about my daughter's condition and took time to make me feel more comfortable. I absolutely love our West coast pediatrician, but I almost had a change of hearts:) Having two kids, we have been to a few offices in the past and everywhere we went, I always feel like everyone is in a hurry and I never ask questions that I'd like to ask for my own piece of mind, Im sure Weiss staff was very busy that day but they did not cut any corners and took time to make us feel special and taken care off. Being a new resident of Sarasota County, Florida I found Weiss Pediatric in which they had great reviews and convenient to travel to. For the past few months my husband and I had entrusted Weiss with the Care of our children. Unfortunately, today the trust and relationship has been broken. Heres why: due to the change in jobs and getting new insurance there was a gap in coverage for my youngest whom already received care during that period. Which a balance accumalated. I was notified at the end of May about the issue by Ashley and on June 1st I personally set up a payment plan and paid a decent amount as our first payment which began in June. A week after submitting that payment I received a call from Diane Weiss demanding and arguing to me about not having and needing a credit card information and paying on the debt. I was lost for words and couldn't believe that I'm already being contacted by Weiss Pediatric (Diane) about a next payment thats due in July on June 8th after having already submitted a payment on June 1st. Due to me having emergency surgery on the morning of the 8th and at homer trying to recover, I had no strength to discuss anything further with Diane and ended the call. I take it that it wasn't to Diane Weiss satisfaction and that's when I began to receive letters from Weiss Pediatric (attached below) requesting payments. Within the month of June I recieved a total of FIVE letters but the worse one was the letter that stated there has been "several attempts" (WHICH was a LIE) to collect on the debt and that until that balance is met in full the CARE for my son will decline (exact word use "diminishes") How from June 1st payment to mid June - several attempts has been made and now the welfare of my child is at risk? Payment plans are set up to be paid once a month. Diane Weiss is INCONSIDERATE and UNPROFESSIONAL and clearly only cares about the MONEY due to her husbands practice VS the CARE of patients. Why not check with your staff who are in charge of these matters prior to picking the phone up and mailing an outrageous amount of letters in regards to a debt? It was later communicated to me by Ashley that it was a big miscommunication on their behalf and that Diane was not aware that my debt was being paid. Ashley apologized for it. After all was said and done.I went to pick up my childrens medical records personally and Diane showed how unprofessional she is once more. As a "professional" after making a patient feel more or less welcomed and not even apologize about the "miscommunication on your behalf" and the unnecessary​ amount of mail and couple of calls made further made me conclude to find a better practice to entrust with the care of our children. We all work hard and try to pay our debt as it comes and sometimes we run into situations where our debt cannot be paid in full and payment plan is the only option to bring a debt into good standing. But is such treatment from any business, medical office,etc. necessary to endure? It is sad to leave such a wonderful staff as Ali, Skylie and Ashley. I strongly URGE you if you're a current patient to keep all records of payments made onto them and may GOD be with you if you have any type of debt with them because you will fall victim to Diane Weiss ways of taking care of things. IF you're in search of a Pediatric office I wouldn't recommend Weiss. read more

I don't leave reviews often, but when I do, it must be a big deal. Weiss Pediatric Care IS a big deal. I went into labor without knowing or having reviewed any pediatricians prior to going to the hospital. I had to make a quick decision once the baby was hours from being born. And my god, I am so thankful that I chose Dr. Weiss. The kindest, most patient and understanding man there ever was. And don't even get me started on his practice. You will never ever find a greater practice and set of nurses. They are god sent! Personal attention to each patient, happy and smiling faces, kind and gentle people. I just love this office!!! I have been going here over a year and just had a horrible experience, FYI you will get scolded if you go to an urgent care facility instead of calling them after hours because they get penalized and money is taken away from the doctor if you don't call them first. Never knew this but was scolded for almost a half hour and threatened to be dropped as a patient if I go to an urgent care again. Lots of time wasted scolding instead of addressing my child. Very rude bedside manor. Could of been approached differently about the situation I was unaware of. Doctor came in the room already mad and insulted. Never addressed my concern. I needed a referral to a specialist so he made us come in for nothing but scold us. Mind you every time I came in I have never met with him except this time when he wanted to lecture me. He mentioned this info was in the paperwork on our first visit. I highly doubt anyone juggling a toddler and trying to fill out paperwork partly on the office iPad reads all the way through the small print or even remembers over a year ago what was on that paperwork. I never knew this was an issue and it could of been handled in a very different way. Remember don't do anything that may takes money away from the doctor. I asked our new pediatrician about this and they apologized that I had to endure that treatment and reassured me they do not follow that same practice and by all means if we need to go to urgent care when the office is closed feel free. I did some research on this and it can be googled to explain why some doctors get "dinged" if their clients go to urgent care. read more
