I'm in Fayetteville, Arkansas and became involved with this firm a few months ago, answering their Facebook ad regarding PPI'S and their association with kidney failure. Since I'm in stage 3 renal failure, I figured I didn't have anything to lose. I was a paralegal for many years and know lawyers are horrible about returning calls and emails but this firm is one of the worst I've ever experienced! I had questions about their time sensitive questionnaire so I sent an email but also phoned. Other than the receptionist who answered the phone and quickly transferred me to others, I never once spoke to a human. I would sometimes leave 2-3 voice mails to Rachel Guerreo a day, on both the office number and her cell number. Not once did she bother returning my calls and either did the numerous other people I had been transferred to. And they never bothered answering my emails either. This is no way to run a law firm, hardly inspires client confidence, and has me wondering about their professionalism and the handling of my lawsuit! And this is only a few months into it - how much worse is it going to get?! read more

My father was contacted earlier this year from this law firm regarding a law suit for Mesothelioma saying the company he worked for had asbestos. The letter stated the company was filing bankruptcy and my dad was entitled to a settlement. I called to get more information. I left mine and his name and number. Never got a return call. Then he received another letter that he would probably get less than what was stated earlier but still it was a significant amount. In September my dad received another letter. I called again and the receptionist transferred me to an attorney's voice mail. Never got a return call. My dad submitted the information requested, notarized and fed ex. Today he gets a check for $34.00 YES, $34 DOLLARS OUT OF A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT STATED EARLIER. The letter attached claims they have tried in several occasions to contact him. Not sure I believe that! I called Weitz & Luxenberg last Friday. I gave the young girl my information and the details of a potential Medical Malpractice suite. I ask the young girl if someone can get back to me to let me know if they would move forward with my case. She said she would send the info to the Para Legal Department and someone will get back to me. I called back late Monday and was told it would take longer than two to review my information. I waited till the Thursday of the following week and call again. Once again a young girl and told me she sent a message to Para Legal. Stating someone from Para Legal will get back to me or she herself would. Late Friday I called again. This time getting a young man. I told him what has happened and asked what type of review does he think I should leave. He quickly told me to hold on and transferred the call to where a young lady picked up. I explained what had happened. She quickly transferred me to someone's voice mail. This is how Weitz and Luxenberg treats potential clients. What a disgrace. Not a firm I want to represent me. It has been a long four years. I finally got some of my money however it was less than a third of the original $89000. I received $13000 in my first check and then another $7000 in my second check. They took almost $50000 for legal fees . They also held back the rest for some kind of health insurance pay back. What a shame!! I would never use them anything ever again. read more

Do not hire these trash lawyers. My case that I was waiting to settle for 4 years was tossed aside by a veteran hating judge and this firm also dropped me without fighting for me. They didnt Try to contact my emergency contact to get ahold of me and if they did I wouldn't have missed the bullshit deadline to fill out a questionnair. So now i don't get anything out 3m because my phone was shut off and this bs firm didn't do anything but send emails to try and reach me. Plus they were going to take more than 33% which was originally agreed upon. My lawyer never once tried to reach me for anything. Only his secretary. I have been in contact with weitz/Luxenberg on a monthy basis regarding my husbands wrongful death with Roundup... Each time they would tell me within weeks you will receive your settlement. Well Friday I finally spoke with the paralegal handing the case and come to find out they lost the settlement check!! they sent to an attorney who I never dealt with and insisted there will be a replacement check with no wait time....... I would have been much better off if I had settled with Striker over my hip implant recall myself. They held my settlement money and sent it in payments after they got the money. Wow where do I start!? Well after years (est 5 years) of fighting this lawsuit with GM I'm still waiting for my settlement. Weitz & Luxenberg are horrible with communication and overall I just would never recommend them to anyone. In addition now I was told I had to go through a settlement administrator that will determine how much I will get and will receive a payment from them in the next few months which does't make sense isn't that the reason I hired lawyers I shouldn't have to do any work but in order to receive this supposed settlement after years I had to go to a site and file a claim. With that being said I really hope I get the money I deserve after spending thousands of $$ on this vehicle and all the trouble I had to deal with. However I will to update my review if I receive my settlement but if I don't I will have to file a complaint to the bar and/or BBB because after reading all these reviews it will be obvious I was part of a scam they have been getting away with for far too long. read more

Lack of communication is this firm's greatest weakness. I hear nothing from them for months. When I finally call I find out that there is a whole new group handling my husband's case. I signed a release seven months ago for a trust settlement. I had heard nothing so I called and to my amazement find that they kept the entire check for expenses! No one at any time said anything about keeping checks from the trusts for the balance of the expenses. read more

All the good reviews must be garbage. After being told I had a case in May of 2019, they never put it in motion! After checking in with them after 6 months they said everything was going fine (they were somewhat vauge) but ok, I took them at their word, after all I'm not the expert they're supposed to be. Unfortunately Weitz & Luxenburg are either to big, or to disorganized. Why? Because finally asking more probing questions they did nothing with this case, 1st they used COVID as an excuse on why nothing had moved forward- I was like COVID? You had my case for 10 months before COVID even existed. Now they haven't return 2 phone calls or 2 emails and it's February 2021! My case was referred to them. They immediately took my case and locked me in with a contract. I was never signed to an attorney. A new paralegal was assigned to my case. I filled out a packet, signed my hippa docs to give them access to my medical records. 8 months later they didnt even order my records, no attorney signed to, matter a fact I didnt even talk to an attorney. After I started to send emails to help add value to my case was dropped by them. They never even looked at it. The paralegal asked the same questions every other month when I checked in. It was a huge waste of time. To add insult to injury, they sent me 3 of the same letters dropping my case. My question why take it in the first case?? read more

They have been handling my father in law's mesothelioma case for a few years. My husband was told some grand number and potential for his mother to retire comfortably after his father was diagnosed. At first they were great with my mother in law and father in law before his passing. Now...we never hear from them. Two months ago my husband asked for a list of payouts, dates and companies as well as what else we were waiting on. We have YET to hear back. We have called, left voicemail and spoken to front desk employees. Still 8 weeks later no return call. Yes they may be the largest, yes they may get some payout for you...but please don't assume they will maintain communication if/when money starts to slow down. We are at the point of hiring our own attorney to look into this duplicity. It shouldn't take two months to get a return call. So follow up. This is how I got their attention. Want to know the irony. I called them as a potential new client and I got calls back...lots of them. But if I called as an existing client we got the run around. You can see the response underneath...we did get a list of payouts, we did get some funds that magically appeared after my questions. Then silence again. Attorney finally called my husband after 7 months on 6/16/20. I'm still in contact with my own attorney and due to Covid some things have settled down. BBB and some other government contacts as well. This firm I think is the worse absolute company I have ever been associated with. I got roped into giving them my social. They have no record. Multiple veterans also have the same experience. Watch out! watch out. I have letters from them stating they were holding my families money waiting for the court to release it. I am the executor of my father's estate. I would sign for a check from them and never get it. My family became concerned. I asked them about the missing money. I got another letter stating there was a unresolved issue and they will let me know when it is resolve. In the meantime they kept sending busy work. When I finally called them on it they dumped us as clients and now say $4000.00 was eaten up in fees. ALL THAT IS LEFT IS $231.00. Weitz and Luxenburg has had my Roundup case for almost three years now. The "paralegals that initially started communication with me, no longer works there. I have to be the one doing all the reaching out about my cancer case with them. They have poor client relationships. I have been told on numerous occasions of dates in which I would be receiving my settlement. The last one I received was stating I would receive my settlement in January 2022. I just reached out to them again as usual, and they are claiming the hold up was that I had signed with another law firm for representation. Which is a total lie and wrongful information. I am now currently awaiting on a return phone call back. They are using some type of point system to estimate how much each client shall receive, which is way less, and not even a third of the average clients with roundup cases are receiving. They have received their winning in the case and been accumulating profit since June of 2021. Can anyone imagine the interest they have gotten off of $400 million dollars sitting in their account? I am not greatly happy or pleased with the way my case has been handled and treated. I have reached out to the higher representative lady that one the case for Weitz and Luxenburg, and she starts off nice and then non-responsive. All I want is this to all be over and my settlement, which is way less than what was promised in the beginning and is nowhere near the price of my life. My Dad git Abestosis from being a plumberand pipe fitter for for a NY Union, who had contracted with these lawyers, I don't know how I see large settlements, for others, but I have not even seen much, maybe $25,000 total over the years, my dad suffered dearly, my mother got it from washing my dads work clothes, she suffered dearly both on oxygen, I took care of them, their life cut short by years, money cannot buy health, but don't take 6 months to send a settlement, there are grave upkeeps, etc, I hooe I didn't get it cause I washed my dad's work clothes on many occasions, you call the Paralegal, always some excuse, they take at least 1/3 of each settlement, even charge for mailing, how about paying us interest from the time you receive the money, and wait to pay it out! we are paying you good money, that you are robbing from the dead! I put in for the 3M ear plugs law suit. This Lawyer was suppose to handle it. I received in my email shortly after contacting them, something to fill out for all my personal info. and past military info. They sent it to me so they could get my records from the VA. i filled it out and emailed it back 3 different times. Then, they wanted me to fill it out a 4th time. I wouldn't do it so after them sending me email after email to re fill it out, they then call me to get it filled out. Sorry, If you all can't be responsible enough to handle my personal info 3 times, I don't think you are responsible enough to win a law suit. A few bucks isn't worth the headache. read more

All they care about is money. You will NEVER talk to to the attorney handling your case but that's okay since they don't do any of the work on your case. Not sure what the attorneys do since it's not talking to clients. They should appreciate the paralegals since they do all the work. My brother passed away in 2014 from Mesothelioma/Lung cancer. He had started a case with this firm before he passed, and he made me his personal representative to oversee his estate. His only child at the time was under 10 years old and he wanted him taken care of by this lawsuit with Weitz and Luxemberg as his legal team, in his absence. They have won many cases revolving around his "cases" and he has many because he had worked in so many fields with and/or around asbestos. I haven't crunched the numbers, but I would say he has only received 1/3rd or less of what they have won. This has been going on for 8 years now and in this time frame, I have called them 4-5 times. Always getting the receptionist, who says they will have a paralegal call me back, which never happens! I even had them send me an email stating that they needed some information from me, so I gave them that information and then asked them if I could get them to give me some info, which they never reciprocated. I have spoke to Weitz and Luxenberg about my case with taking the drug accutane.. At the time my case was taken they told me everything i wanted to hear. Including i was there second best case that they had. Since i spent half my life in hospital due to this drug. To sum things up I would expect at least one call in 20 years. I get a occasional letter from firm saying they are working on it. The last letter was about 3 years ago. I decided to call the lawyer which I have no clue who is working on it at this point. Now it is time for me to get loud and start with Bar New York Bar Association than think about more actions to see why I am being avoided.I called them over a week ago and they said the lawyer would contact me when he got in the office.
