Today, my spuds are unpleasantly crunchy raw, the pork sausage pale, not fried. It was unsettlingly stone cold i figured it was direct from the fridge, so not even microwaved. I ejected it from my mouth at speed. and the tomatoe was over cooked. Not even a whisper of butter on my sour dough toast. My partner also had the same. He said his spuds raw and cold. And same sausage problem. His toast was not only dry but rock hard. The eggs tasted....odd. Almost no flavour. You'll be hard pressed to find me spending another $60 here. I think a McMuffin would have been nicer. Rad, you've really let your self go. Super disappointed.

The cafe itself is not very large, but they still seem to be able to fit a lot of us in. Just don't expect to have loads of time to chill after eating, as you can feel bad for the people waiting! I like how they provide you water when you arrive, and I generally like the service that the staff provide us. They seem to all enjoy working there. The food is a bit funky, as in they are usually relatively common meals but with a bit of a twist, to keep you on your toes. I quite enjoy the pumpkin omelette with a side of potato gratin. They have both gluten free and vegetarian options available. An outside table works well for people who come along with their doggos - not nice during bad weather, but most of the time it's lovely to be outside and have the option of bringing your dog (i.e. good pit stop on a walk for example). It's not crazy expensive, as well. Not cheap, either, but I'd say it was about average breakfast prices. Will definitely be going back!

A big wooden tree that doubles as shelves spans one of the walls, the coffee comes with heart-shaped teaspoons and they've got terrariums with plastic dinosaurs on the tables. The vibe is upbeat and friendly. You get the feeling that it's a favourite amongst locals and given it's size, would be packed on the weekend. As for the food, they've got an extensive brunch & lunch menu handwritten on those cool paper rollers. Unfortunately I was running short on time so I opted for their bacon and vege stack to takeaway. It came heated with a generous pottle of homemade tomato chutney. Flavour-wise, it was nothing new but it was pretty damn tasty. She loved this place as its her local so we headed down around 11am, it was pretty busy for weekday which was good but surprising. We snagged a table inside next to the counter. The decor is cute, fresh and light. Service was really nice and were asked for our coffee orders right away. Looking over the menu was hard as there were so many options that looked amazing. I decided to go for the salmon eggs Benedict on homemade hash brown as that hash brown sounded so good. My friend grabbed the chorizo omelette. The food took its time to arrive, but we were ok to wait as we had nothing planned for the day, maybe just something note! The food was delicious, and huge servings. The hash browns were my favourite part of the dish because they were so crunchy - definitely recommend trying those! The omelette looks massive and also came with some ciabatta bread. Overall the cafe was really good, a little slow. I will definitely be back!

Having spent next to no time in the area, I was stoked to find C&G, and even more stoked when I walked in and saw they use Kokako beans. For brekkie, I ordered the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, which came out with dressed salad of rocket, onion and capers. I usually prefer such accompaniments on my bagel, undressed, but with the generous amount of salmon and C.C already on there I totally forgot about it. Also, they mix fresh herbs through their cream cheese - big tick in my book. Perhaps, what stood for me the most though, was the service. Just little things - like the barista chatting to me while she made my coffee, bringing over water as soon as I sat down or asking how my meal was part way through - sometimes it's just the little things that make all the difference. This is a great spot for a business meeting - quiet, great coffee and loads of seats. Just bear in mind that there is waaaaaay more outdoor seating than indoor so if it's wet and windy perhaps go elsewhere.
