However, I had a…read morevery bad experience from the beginning to the end when my duplex purchase came crashing down, mainly due to these guys: This should have been an easy one for them as I was way overqualified for this loan. The two main guys Tom S. and Tom K. don't seem to communicate much. I was given a closing cost estimate that came in nearly twice what it should have been ($6k more). When I pointed out that some of the Pitt taxes were supposed to be SPLIT between Buyer and Seller, it was difficult to get them to explain/fix it...they just said something to the effect of...You just need to sign it. We know it's wrong, but the bank we chose for you is making us do it that way. We'll fix it later. Things came crashing down for me when the bank they chose hired a completely incompetent appraiser. Even though I was one of multiple offers on this house at or near my offer price, the appraisal came in at less than HALF of market value. Again, Ace Mortgage said there was nothing they could do, because the bank (who they chose) hired the Appraiser. Ace was very unresponsive in trying to get this fixed (hire a competent appraiser)....very poor care for a client.
