She is very smart, but she does not listen her to her patients needs or requests. Hopefully this will change for her future patients.

After the first day, there were several staff members have given me a snarky/inappropriate attitude when i have been nothing but polite and courteous. I came in here with nothing but clothes on my back and a light suitcase, not even shoes. A family member sent me packages for clothes and necessities and the staff told me i couldn't receive this many packages, despite signing a clause listed in the intake paperwork that i have the right to receive mail. That's a federal law regardless. The schedule they outline and have posted throughout the facility is not accurate aside from meals and smoke breaks. There are no dedicated full-length groups, 1:1 counseling sessions, etc. I took initiative in my recovery efforts and sat in my room doing Narcotics Anonymous meetings on zoom and stepwork with my peers over the phone. I was told they have CBT/DBT in the curriculum and that is simply not true. The point of my journey here, 3 hours from home, was to work on healing and focus on my recovery. The inconsiderate behavior from their staff has made me uncomfortable and further exacerbated my trauma. Expecting some retaliatory action from their part due to this review.

After over an hour of being there I was left crying alone in my room, struggling with suicide ideations. The building was full of problems and major water damage with signs saying, "DANGER! MICROBIAL HAZARD!". On my first night (10/29/21), they did not stop construction until 1 in the morning. The construction work caused the power to go on and off throughout the night, causing the bright beaming lights above our heads to turn on and off throughout the night. When asking Dylan about the groups for the day and expressing my confusion about the consistency of the schedule, he said that I was "having a bitch fit" to my peers as soon as I walked away, who of course told me about it. Later in passing, I walked past Dylan without a word, and he said, "I don't know what your problem is," as he walked out onto the patio where he knew I wouldn't follow him due to the constant cigarette smoke. I was there voluntarily to learn skills from the variety of groups that they advertised but some of the patients tried to "shush," me when I realized it was past the posted group start time saying, "Don't remind them, you're new here, so you don't know that we usually just watch music videos at this time." Confirming that the posted schedule is never properly followed even though Dylan kept making excuses like, "Well, today is just an exception." The women's bathroom was a complete hazard, and the men's restroom was even worse. The showers had no hot water or water pressure, so we couldn't even clean ourselves properly. Many patients skip showering due to the horrific conditions even though on the daily schedule it says, "HYGEINE/SHOWERS ARE MANDATORY EVERY MORNING OR NIGHT" and it was stated we can only shower at either 8 in the morning or 8 in the evening. Yet, I saw one female patient shower in the middle of the day, even though that was against the stated policy, and no one batted an eye. The facility doesn't provide shower shoes for the patients, creating a perfect place for foot fungus and other types of viruses to thrive as these infections can easily spread from one person's feet to the floor of the shower then onto another's foot. The toilets wouldn't flush all the way, causing a backup of feces and menstrual blood lingering in the toilet bowls. Many of the female patients brought this up during our morning conversation, and one of the interns stated that she wouldn't even want to stay here under these hazardous conditions. One female described the putrid smell of the bathroom as, "it smells like something died in there." On the website under prohibited items it said, "razor blades OF ANY KIND." When I saw razors in the nurse's station and other patients with them, I asked the nurse about the rule, and they acted like they had no idea of any such rule. Many of the patients expressed to me that they can use razors and even taken them in the showers with them without any supervision. Jackson House is an absolute scam, and it is appalling to me that this place is allowed to exist, let alone advertise as a place for people to come and heal. This Residential Treatment Center is a complete joke, and I sincerely hope they get shut down before a resident is severely harmed or killed. I was there less than 24 hours, and this all happened over the span of ONE day. *SEE PHOTOS FOR FULL STORY*
