BEST MASSAGE IN NEW ORLEANS! I've been going to Tam at Well Body Studio for massages for 5 years now (Swedish, Therapeutic, and Prenatal), and I count my lucky stars every day that I found her. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I refer all my family and friends to her, and they continue to have nothing but glowing reviews. Here are some things I love about massages with Tam: 1.) Tam eases you into a massage. Instead of diving into the most painful knot or problem area first thing with full force, she reminds you to breathe and guides you toward a place of relaxation first so that your muscles are more primed to receive more focused pressure. I struggle with anxiety and cannot tell you how important it is that I feel relaxed and safe BEFORE i can enjoy or benefit from a massage. Tam knows how to do this. She is thorough, she is deliberate, and she takes her time so that you never feel that anything is being rushed. This allows you to actually relax and get the most out of the therapy. (She also gives very calm and clear guidance on what to do: when I need to roll over, or adjust my positioning, or what to do before the massage starts, or when it is over. This helps you relax further by limiting opportunities for confusion and awkwardness.) 2.) Tam is a magician with pressure. She is strong, but adapts her pressure based on the area of the body and the body's muscle response. She's always keenly attuned to me and how my body is responding, and i've never had to ask her to adjust her pressure. That said, she also verbally checks in with you to make sure that the pressure feels right and encourages you to speak up if anything needs to be changed or addressed. 3.) Tam doesn't talk through your massage. She lets you relax into your bliss and detach. That said, if you WANT to talk or have a question or concern, she is happy to engage in conversation. She lets you guide the talking piece. 4.) Tam is both confident and humble in her work. She is highly skilled, highly perceptive, does a thorough intake before the massage, and quickly makes you feel comfortable. And she ALSO listens to what you need and how your body/situation may be different. She adjusts based on your needs and is open to your thoughts. 5.) I feel SO rejuvenated after a massage with Tam. It's as if i've also been through a meditation, Reiki session, restorative yoga, deep stretch, and blissful sleep all at the same time. Don't waste your money at the fancy spas in town. Thank you, Tam!! I woke up around 10am today and couldn't move my head or get up w/o excruciating pain in my neck. Today is Sunday. I went on yelp to check out massage reviews and filtered it to what was open. Well Body Studio was 1 of 2 with good ratings to come up. I called both and left messages. Within 3 min, Tam called me back. The other never did. Amazingly, on a Sunday, she was able to get me in a few hours after I called and in time to get home for the Saints game. She did a great job. I needed super deep treatment and she really focused on the the 2 areas I told her were in pain. My issues aren't completely healed - I'm beyond an hour of work, but WOW... It's almost 12 hours later and I feel SO much better than I did this morning. I really didn't think I would find someone on a Sunday and I'm so lucky I did. THANK YOU!!!! I'll definitely be back. My only conclusion is that Tam is a wizard - as she worked some magic on my back. I wish I could see footage of what she's doing with her hands and arms back there because it felt DIVINE. I tapped out into some phase of relaxation I haven't experienced before. I've been experiencing some atypical back pain lately, so my girlfriend did some research and stumbled into Tam. She's an absolute professional and made for a VERY comfortable experience. Her space is quaint, private and cozy -- and you can trust that Tam will instantly put you at ease, while you internally ask yourself "do I take off my undees?" (OF COURSE you do) Never ONCE did I have to ask her to adjust her pressure, she just knows. She quickly dialed into the problem-spots and I have noticed a marked improvement since my visit yesterday. I had an hour massage with Tam that was absolutely divine. She was very slow and deliberate with her strokes- making sure to work each area fully. It did not feel hurried like some massages I've had. Seriously...her technique is awesome. She asked a few times about her pressure, ensuring it was not too soft / not too hard (it was PERFECT!) and she really focused on the specific areas I requested. She has a very small studio above a cafe, nothing fancy, but it was very peaceful and comfortable. She had a great selection of jazz playing, a nice change from regular "tweeting birds and dripping water" spa music ! Tam is very nice - I felt very appreciated, important, and at home right away. Tam does great work! The studio is easy to find and there is tons of parking right outside. The space is clean and intimate. It's a cozy room and the table is very comfortable. Tam is amazing at finding the exact pressure you need without you having to say a word. It's the perfect environment to just relax, meditate, and let your aches melt away. I started going to monthly massages with Tam when I was experiencing some back pain. I'd never had a massage and was a bit apprehensive. That dissolved quickly. The environment Tam creates is relaxing and comfortable, and she communicates perfectly to ensure your comfort. The massages themselves are incredible. For me, she combined deep massage and trigger point massage. It's hard for me to imagine how she can know so well exactly where the problem spots are and how to relax them, but she does. She is knowledgeable, intuitive, and very skilled. I have always floated out of her massage room directly following massages, and have felt relaxed for days. Her massage space is peaceful and she plays lovely jazz. I can't speak highly enough of Tam. I continued my monthly massages with Tam for two years, but now have moved from New Orleans to Ohio, and have had some massages here, but now make appointments with Tam when I visit. read more

This is a one-person studio so it was a very relaxed setting and a great experience, the best massage I've had in years. Had an amazing experience here, and will definitely go back. Tam is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, and was able to pinpoint all of my trouble spots after I gave her a basic outline of how I was feeling and what my major problem areas are. I was an athlete and have several previous injuries and surgeries and she was able to locate every trigger point and relieve a lot of the pain and tension without creating soreness/inflammation.
