MIL's the one who discovered the recently opened Well Fed this season, and we're grateful for that. This quaint little deli/bakery serves up fresh, homemade, local fare from quintessentially Canadian butter tarts to chipotle cole slaw to homemade exotic veggie chips better than Terra's. We happily gobbled up many of Well Fed's take-away salads alongside our scone lunch sammiches or locally-sourced burger dinners. My favorite is the cauliflower and broccoli salad with dried cranberries and sunflower seeds. Yup, you've seen this old stand-by at every church potluck, book-club meeting and 4th of July picnic you've attended; but it's never been as good as Well Fed's. read more

Good food, but unfortunately no charm/friendliness that one hopes for and tries to support by going to small local establishments. Maybe they were all too busy, but sadly our local Panera chain is friendlier. We tried 3 different box lunches and enjoyed them all. The Reuben is good and so is the grilled tuna melt. Their salads are fresh and very nice. Four stars because the food is good. read more

My take out go-to for annual visits to Gravenhurst . . . . Everything has been great on each year visit over the past three years. Overall fav is the Mac and Cheese - super multi-cheesy and rich, easy reheat at Pinedale Motel suite oven, worth the reheat wait. The sandwich lunchbox is good choice for motel, beach or takeaway (as I did a couple years ago to a friend in Lindsay who was impressed with taste and quality). Good value - full size or half sandwich - with choices for type of meat, bread, salads or chips. Made while you wait . . . . This is all comfort food, some healthy, check out the fridge or freezer for takeaway meatloaf, pies and desserts, and fresh potentials in the front cold case too. I was not very happy with my experience at this spot. The staff was less than kind and I walked away with a small container of seemingly day old potato salad for $20. It tasted too much like dill pickle and the whole experience was a little off putting. I don't think I will be returning any time soon. read more

I want to get this place 4.5 stars. The reason it doesn't get five is because it's limited seating. And it's decor. The reason the seating is difficult to find is because the food is so good. This is a lunch and dinner location specifically catering to box lunches and/or catered type lunches. Food items include freshly made sandwiches and freshly made salads. If you haven't cooked dinner this night you can pick up frozen and fresh food items to take home and impress the family. Service was prompt and very friendly the owners and all staff really appear to care about good service and quality food. I went with a large group they serviced our group with a smile and not one person amongst this group had anything for good reviews. read more

Excellent box lunches. Sandwiches are large and hearty, generous with the meat. The sides are great too. I got the broccoli cauliflower salad and others got the lemon kale salad and the baked root veggie chips. The boxes come with a fresh fruit garnish and a dill pickle. We tried a couple of the baked dessert items and they were excellent. The "well fed cookie bar" was very tasty and made of quite a few whole grain and natural ingredients. Over all an excellent lunch choice. While we all 3 bought the whole sandwich option, there is an option for a half size box lunch also. read more

This is an excellent place to go for a quick lunch or snack while at the cottage. I usually go for the box lunches as they are filling and you get a sandwich/salad combo. Great sandwiches and salads! Be aware that there is pretty much no seating, but it is well worth it to sit on the sidewalk and enjoy.
