First I had to admit to myself that I couldn't handle everything with my business, I needed do what I do well and let other pros do their thing. Well Planned got me up to speed so quickly with Quickbooks and a real plan. They provided me a good balance of hands on oversight and the ability to have control where I need it for quotes and invoicing. Their rates are in line with others, and I have already made back their fee through improvements to my billing, and freeing up my time to focus on my core work. read more

Finally Got My Business Finances Organized! I recently used Well Planned for bookkeeping/ business set up, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The team really understands what small business owners need--they took the back-office chaos that was consuming my time and turned it into an organized, manageable system. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and also their overall knowledge of starting and running a business. They got my quickbooks set up and guided me on which business entity made sense for my company. I appreciated the overall experience and guidance Elyse was able to offer. They didn't just handle the accounting side; they gave me real guidance and also referred me to some really great vendors for marketing, branding etc. The whole process was smooth and professional. The management from this company for our condo building was horrendous. Christine and Sara made it…read morea point to harass owners if you looked at them cross-eyed. This included personally threatening emails. On multiple occasions, they would not knock and entered my and my neighbors' units without notice -- they would claim they didn't need the mandatory 24-hour notice every single time because they would just lie about suspecting an "emergency" and bypass the notice -- one incident included walking in on my neighbor naked. Our HOA's financial situation was bad when they started managing our building, but only got worse over time. Not only did the physical state of the building not improve, but dues were hiked and multiple special assessments, which combined, were several thousand dollars levied over a just couple years. I once asked them why all the condo buildings they managed had the highest HOA dues in Long Beach (after some investigating), they said that it was from "previous mismanagement". Come on! How is it the previous management's fault when you've been the management company for our building for like 7 years?! Other shady behavior from them included not letting us use any of our own contractors. They said that had to approve the contractors before any work could be done within the units no matter how small. Surprise, surprise... they wouldn't approve any outside contractors. They had a list of pre-approved contractors that they had "special" relationships with and would steer myself and other condo owners towards their own contractors (plumber, electrician, handyman, etc.). So if you wanted any work done within your unit, it was going to be from one of their guys, otherwise it wasn't going to be approved and whatever repair or upgrade project you had going would be in limbo unless you threatened them with legal action.

This company represents themselves as a property management company. From the paperwork they…read morepresented to our association, they don't even secure a real-estate license, much less a brokers license as required to serve as a property management company. They ran our building almost into a state of bankruptcy. In the years they managed our building, no increases on association despite years of inflation. Inspections of building or future planning was never done. They did little if any work or planning to maintain our building. Be careful, always ask for a broker's license and make sure the company is reputable.
