My husband planned a weekend for us at the Grand Geneva Resort to celebrate my birthday. While he took our son to the water park, I spent the afternoon at the WELL Spa. Although I did not have a negative experience, it just wasn't worth the time or money. Pros -Sauna, steam room, hot tub, and gym included with a treatment -Staff is friendly and polite -Plenty of water, towels, soap, hygiene products -Clean Cons -Pricing -Outdated facility -Small and loud -Cheap/uncomfortable sandals My massage therapist was lovely and I enjoyed the sauna and steam rooms. The actual service was in no way worth the cost. Everything about the resort is overpriced, but I was hopeful the treatment would be worth the expense. It wasn't. "spa" is a significant stretch. While it may have a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. the quality and cleanliness is severely lacking. The hot tub water was brown, and the wood on the outside of the sauna was withering away with mold present. The lockers were dated and damaged. The robes were in very rough shape. Every robe had pilling all over. The layout of this spa is very poor, it's very small and compact, making it very crowded. You can tell there have been no updates made to this facility. When we arrived we were taken for a "tour" only to be left in the locker room, it wasn't until 30 minutes in, after just standing around, we learned there was a lounge and relaxation room. There was no convenient way to access this room. We were taken to it through doors labeled "staff only" The massage itself was severely underwhelming. She basically rubbed lotion on me for 50 minutes, there was no skill or technique to the massage. Overall, it was just a very disappointing experience. I brought my wife here for our anniversary. I booked in advance and didn't have to pay until after the massages. They did hold my card info in case any charges were to happen, etc. My massage was fabulous! My wife's, not so much. I felt replenished after words and we even enjoyed the steam room and sauna. I regret not bringing my swimsuit because they do have a hot tub. Service was excellent, all of the staff was nice. They had snacks and drinks aside and you can even purchase your own bottle of wine. I thought the hotel grounds were beautiful. I would love to stay at the resort some time. Such a nice experience and we came in the fall so everything was decorated for harvest. When it came time to pay, they already tipped our masseuse for us. I enjoyed my massage, I wanted to tip my lady well, however they don't specify who to give the tip to. Two of us enjoyed the WELL Spa at the Grand Geneva Resort. We were warmly greeted by Justin who helped check us in and showed us the relaxation room in which we could wait. Ariana was our friendly, attendant who guided us to the locker room equipped with a whirlpool, steam room, sauna, and experience showers. She got us acquainted with the locks on the lockers and provided us with slippers and robes. Towels were abundant and soft. We arrived an hour before our facials and enjoyed each of the areas feeling our stress diminish. We arrived later on a Saturday afternoon, so the areas weren't so crowded. Our aestheticians were Gail and Samantha and I can't tell you how kind and knowledgeable they were. Gail has been there for over 20 years which says something about the culture of the spa. At most spas, a facial includes a period when the serums have to rest on the skin. At those times, most aestheticians leave the room but here we were treated to a shoulder massage and arm treatment (depending on the facial you book). The whole experience was worth every penny. Cons: * The facilities were incredibly outdated. * Felt more like a nasty medical clinic than a spa. * There was nothing at all luxurious about my treatment. * The bathroom door hooks were broken. * Some of the locker buttons did not work. * Robe and slippers look like they had seen better days. * No one caters to you upon check-in. You are offered water, tea, or coffee, Have to pay for champagne. (The upcharge when you are spending $280/hr. is absurd.) Check in was also very crowded without enough staff. * No decor other than some plastic candles. Recycle and trash bins everywhere. I am so disappointed. I really wanted to love my experience here. At the end of the day- a great spa experience really comes down to a great spa service provider. And I didn't get one during my recent visit to the spa. But some of my friends came out raving so I guess it was the "luck of the draw" and I lost. I guess I just didn't feel pampered . . . and isn't that what a spa is supposed to do? I walked in and check in was quick. A man showed me to the door of the locker room and told me to "look around" for the locker room attendant. What? I need to find someone? I need to "do" something other than relax? This can't be good. So I wander around the spa area and realize there is no one there to help me. So just as I am going back out the door to the front desk- the attendant comes in, arms full of towels and flustered. She showed me to my locker, but when I asked for larger sandals (the ones in the locker were seriously for a leprechaun) this took forever. So I was shoeless when they came and called me for my service. Another misstep. TWO people came to get me for my service so while we waited to get that cleared up- my sandals showed up. Again- not the restful spa experience that I wanted. So once that was cleared up- I was hurried along the hallway to the massage room as now they were "behind schedule". When I finally got on the massage table- it was clear to me that the woman giving my massage was a novice. I asked several times for her to stop talking (it was nervous talk on and on and on about nothing) and then the massage alternated between barely touching me or grinding into my muscles (so bad that I ached for several days afterward) And when I asked how long she had been doing her job- it was as I suspected . . . not long at all. I left as frazzled as I went in and as I was walking out- the front desk guy was waving a bill for our group that needed a signature (which had been taken care of by our meeting planner but obviously he didn't know that) In all fairness, several of my colleagues thought their massages were good and one woman raved about her facial so it does go back to the "luck of the draw". But as for me- when you actually have to "recover" from a massage . . . . .(it took two more massages to relax my muscle spasms) this is not how it is supposed to work. I go to spas all over the world. If I ever go again-this is one where I will ask for the level of experience of the service provider- and demand a tenured professional. read more

Had a couples massage for my birthday.... The good: staff was friendly and helpful. Massage therapists were good. I enjoyed my massage and particularly the use of the hot towels placed under the neck when lying on my back and the hot packs placed on my back when lying face down. The room was quiet and dimly lit with relaxing music playing. The massage therapists were not overly chatty (which is a good thing! I hate when someone talks to me the entire massage), but they did ask the appropriate questions regarding pressure and comfort. 5 stars to the therapists! The not so good: this spa is in need of a facelift. It definitely has a very 70's vibe to it with the dark wood everywhere and the dark decor. For the prices they charge, I expected a more upscale ambience. The relaxation suite where you sit to wait for your massage is furnished with what look like lawn chairs or outdoor chaise lounges. The locker room area was clean, but again, in definite need of a facelift. Looks very dated. The robe and slippers we were given also looked like they had seen better days. After our massages, my husband and I thought we might utilize the "spa facilities" together afterwards like we have done on other spa get aways. It was a bit disappointing to learn that the hot tubs and saunas were inside the men's and women's locker rooms, meaning we were unable to enjoy them together. We did go check out the indoor pool area, however it's more for lap swimming than lounging, and there is no hot tub, no lounge chairs. That put a bit of a damper on our plans of lounging there for a couple hours. I also didn't love the fact that this "spa" is actually more of a fitness facility than a true spa. I wish the fitness area was separated from the spa area. You are walking past people working out while you are in your spa robe. It was just a bit of an odd feel the way it was set up. I guess I was expecting a bit more since the price points are on par with other resorts we have visited such as Kohler Waters Spa and Sundara Spa. My friend and I came for the Relax Me Massage. My masseuse was Krystine L. and she gave me one of the top three massages of my life. She worked out all the knots and paid special attention to my problem areas. It gave a whole new meaning to elbow grease. The Well itself is overpriced, but you expect that from a resort. They seem to have really great packages if you order more services or stay the night. A basic 50 minute massage cost $115, so after a decent tip you are likely to spend $135. However, you can offset the cost by remaining in the locker room and taking advantage of the amazing three-jet showers, the sauna and hot tub. read more

My daughter and I recently spent a day at the spa. The facility itself is pretty worn, but the staff tries very hard to please. All our services - massage, body exfoliation, mani, pedi - were good. My main reason for not being eager to return was the noise level. It was hard to relax unless we were receiving a treatment. The 'relaxation' room was anything but. Several women were yucking it up, making it impossible to rest. Upon request a staff member showed my to a 2nd relaxation area, but it was right next to where the supplies were kept, so noisy as well. We had to eat our lunch we ordered in the locker room because the one table was occupied. Staff did comp us a mimosa - very nice! - and I received a discount on my last treatment as the technician's car broken down, causing her to run late. Also very nice - but I was left sitting around for longer than I would have liked. With no place to relax... I just prefer when a much-needed spa day goes smoothly from beginning to end. read more

The spa experience needs SIGNIFICANT attention. The locker room area is loud and extremely bright and NOT relaxing in the least. I did try to take into consideration that this area is also used by people as a "locker room" for the gym etc and not just for spa guests. There were apparently 3 bridal parties in the day I was in. The area was loud, out of literally everything (wet clothing bags, towels, granola, even water) and a total mess. Towels and robes piled everywhere, floors soaking wet, and bridal parties with phones out taking photos in the locker room as well (TOTALLY UNACCETABLE). The amenities in the showers were gone and the showers were filthy with hair on the walls and grime & dirt on the floors. When I told a spa attendant she responded with "we've been super busy today, we had 3 bridal parties". I wanted to respond with that's great but I have paid to be here too, but held my tongue. Massage therapists were fantastic but again after a massage environment not relaxing at all. The area needs to be remodeled desperately. The sauna and steam room both have door/entry molding that is deteriorating/molding and edges/ceilings/dry wall around doorways and entries is compromised. The sauna is missing a floor slat and has numerous loose floor slats that could cause serious injury to guests on the interior. The steam room interior is in better shape but has a funky smell. (could benefit from a eucalyptus or some other essential oil spray inside for guests to use) Disappointed in everything but the massage therapists actual service. The rest needs a serious overhaul with attention to form, function and guest privacy (phones should never be permitted in a locker room)/relaxation. Will be travelling to Kohler or Sundara for future spa appointments in Wisconsin. read more

Alex, the guy who escorted me to the locker rooms, took off his mask as soon as we got out of sight of the front desk. Walking by sign after sign that said MASK REQUIRED, he was flaunting the rules. This kind of behavior is antithesis to the idea of "wellness". If they don't care about mask rules, the only conclusion I can come to is they probably don't care about other rules too, like disinfecting etc. Massage was basically ruined because I was paranoid about covid. I am giving two stars because my therapist Jenny was great, friendly, and wore a mask the entire time. read more

The Grand Geneva property is very nice and I like how there is a large spa on site which is easily accessible by trolley. My spa experience was not that good. I walked in and there were a lot of customers waiting, they seemed very understaffed. The woman came to get me for my overpriced manicure and seemed to be in a hurry, you could tell she didn't want to be there. Making small talk was like pulling teeth so I just shut up and let her do my nails. I was done rather quickly, paid and left. When I got back to my room I noticed all my nails were completely bubbled. I have never had that happen before. A friend of mine told me that happens when they put on the drops too fast or if the nail polish is bad. Either way, my nails look horrible. I called the spa and they said I could come back for a polish change but the only time would be Sunday morning at 9am, they could not accomodate me any other time and would not refund my money. I couldn't make the 9am appt so I just had to repaint my nails myself. I will not go back there due to the hurried technician and the poor customer service. The prices are too high to not get a stellar manicure. read more

The Sport Center at Grand Geneva Resort will always have a special place in my heart Why, you ask? On a *very* cold and snowy weekend I tried my hand at wall climbing for the first time. Oh, yes, I feel that this is my new addiction. What harm can it do other than scraping my knees and give me aching shoulders? Plus it seems like a fabulous confidence booster - "I climbed THAT?!" I never was into sports when I was a child, and never understood how they can increase one's self confidence. I'm now in my 4th decade of life and I *finally* get it. Better late than never. Not to mention the full body workout it gives you. The climbing walls were tucked away behind the basketball courts and there was a staff member ready to belay us, which my experience is showing that is a rare feature at climbing walls. Harnesses and helmets (that's also another rare thing as well) were provided at no extra charge. The walls have varying degrees of difficulty, starting off with one suited for the n00b that I was. They also had an autobelay if one was feeling rather independent. That wasn't me, but maybe someday? It was $10 for 30 minutes of supervised climbing, plus I had a day's access to the facilities at the gym area of the spa - from classes, to the pool, to the workout facilities. Sweet deal. read more

Not worth the money for a 50 minute massage. There are many places you can go and get value for your money, but not here. Pros: The hot tub/sauna/steam room Amenities to do your hair/wash skin after service Staff are all very nice Clean & sanitary environment Cons: I've been to spas where I get a foot soak before my service. With the $$$ I spent, I expected some type of value added service. No foot soaks, aromatherapy, etc. Massage therapist didn't ask me about the pressure. That's a no no. Massage technique was terrible! Very fast, light - I didn't feel relaxed after my massage. The therapist just rubbed my skin (light & fast effluerage movements), didn't massage my muscles. The therapist massaged me so fast, the massage table was moving & squeaking. Uncomfortable! Poor draping. My therapist told me to flip over and didn't lift the sheets for me! This is STANDARD practice! I complained to the service desk, & the girl said, "I'll tell a manager". She offered to give me a discount, but I was already receiving a discount from a conference I was at during my stay at The Grand Geneva (nice resort BTW - very comfortable beds!) I paid $100+ for a terrible experience that I wouldn't have paid more than $30 for someone to quickly rub me down. My local massage therapist is a million times better! I walk out of her (my local massage therapist) treatment room feeling renewed, loosened, and completely relaxed. At The Well Spa in Grand Geneva - I walked out of there un-relaxed and upset at the level of service I didn't receive for the money I was paying. I felt ripped off, because I pay significantly less for massages from my local spas receiving a million times better service - without all the hot tub amenities. I felt my complaint got nowhere. The front desk staff "acted" like they cared about what I had to say, but I highly doubt they passed my feedback along & I'm pretty upset they didn't comp most of it. We recently stayed at Grand Geneva for an extended w/e and the spa was one of the highlights, as it usually is when coming here. As others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey on the surface and it does offend my financial sensibilities that you drop $115 (not including tip) for a mere 50 minute massage...esp when you see deals from Groupon to Living Social to Dealfind, which can get you an hour's massage for half that price. However, that said, the spa does offer many other things you can take advantage of during your length of stay at the resort (whether you get spa services or not). Now with *that* said, I should mention that Grand Geneva charges a $15/day fee for usage of their spa/fitness facility, again, whether you use the spa or not...so my take is, if you go to Grand Geneva, take advantage of the facilities bc you're paying for them anyway. Enuf of that, the Well Spa. It is very nice and run very well, as with the rest of the resort. Everyone was professional, courteous, etc and all the therapists I've had have been outstanding. They also have a highly addicting and intoxicating menthol eucalyptus steam room that is fairly awesome, as is the sauna, whirlpool and regular indoor pool. In addition to that, they have a full on gym with everything you'd expect from a high end sports club...also included is a full size basketball court and indoor rock climbing wall. End of, a half or full day spent here will sort out any headaches, worries and general trauma that the city of Chicago has caused me over the years. read more

I consider myself somewhat of a spa "connoisseur." After visiting a handful of times, here is the lowdown... Things I love: 1. It's only a hop, skip and a jump from Milwaukee or Chicago, but once on site, you feel like you're staying at a remote retreat. 2. I've never had a bad service here whether it be a massage, facial or mani/pedi. Staff is very professional. 3. Being a guest at the spa gives you access to a locker and the gym for the day including the classes. Awesome perk! 4. I had a somewhat bizarre experience here the last time, which I will not get into since it was really not the fault of the spa. All the same, the staff was very apologetic and the manager was quick to offer up free services on my next visit. Things I don't love: 1. Locker room feels a little cramped and gets pretty crowded. Not the tranquil respite I would hope for on a weekend. Think bachelorette parties, etc and there's no separate waiting room. 2. The facility in general feels a little dated. Could use some updates and sprucing up. All in all, I like coming here. My mom and I will meet up here for mom/daughter spa days as its a great meeting point for us and I've always enjoyed myself. read more

I visited the Well Spa with my mom, grandma, and aunts for a girls' day out. When we arrived, we were all rushed right away into our separate areas. I signed up for a facial, and was looking forward to a relaxing fifty minutes. As soon as the facial began, I was immediately relaxed. My spa technician, Melanie, was also a great masseuse and I was sad when my facial ended...I wanted another one! She used soothing products on my skin and was gentle as well. However, I do have a few complaints. Melanie kept trying to sell me the products she used, which put a damper on the environment. I know that's probably part of their job, but Melanie was pretty aggressive, even after I explained that the products were not within my budget. Speaking the budget, the facial was definitely not worth $115. Relaxing, yes, but not enough to totally break the bank. This kind of expense was a one-time thing for my family, but I think the facial should have lasted longer or have come with complimentary products for that kind of price. I also didn't receive a robe or sandals during my facial. I thought that robes and sandals may not be given to clients with facials, but my aunts received the same treatment and got a robe. I'm not sure why I didn't get one though! All in all, the facial did rejuvenate my skin and relaxed me as well, but I would probably never pay that price again. I enjoyed my time at the spa (shellac manicure and pedicure). We spent most of the day here - in addition to our services, we had lunch and wine, relaxed in the relaxation room, and chilled in the hot tub. Free mimosas, which was great. I like that gratuity is automatically added so there's no weirdness about how much tip to leave. The women who did my nails were nice. My only complaint about this spa is the price. I got a pretty standard manicure and pedicure and, with gratuities, paid more than $160!! I can get the same services at a nice place, closer to home, for much less. read more

I called to book a couples package and I spoke to a woman on the phone who asked us to be there 30 min early and we could use the hot tub and sauna room. When we got there, we found out that the hot tub and sauna were in each of the locker rooms and we couldn't do it together. Kind of a bummer. We waited in the "relaxation lounge" which was just a bunch out outdoor furniture. The facial and massages we got were amazing though. Staff was very friendly and professional. Mani and pedi were nice but the lady who did my manicure didn't have me sit and wait long enough and ruined my polish as soon as I got back to the locker room. We leave to check out and they run my card on file with the 20% gratuity charge which we agreed to. Got our receipt and the was $132 service fee which was never mentioned?! So for two people, a facial, massage, mani/pedi we spent over $900! Waaaaaay overpriced! read more

The Well Spa at the Grand Geneva is a very pricey spa and salon with a sports center attached to it. I think for $80 I expected a lot more for a pedicure. The esthetician almost did not apply a top coat until I asked her to do so. The waiting room was not that nice, and I was not impressed with the selection of products. The pedicure chair was very uncomfortable and the foot pool was metal with warm water and the metal made it very, very hot. I think the Well Spa could do a lot better, especially considering the prices that the guests are paying. Maybe for half as much I wouldn't complain. read more

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the resort for our anniversary and he treated me to some spa services for the occasion. I didn't come quite as prepared as I should have though. I left the tennis shoes and workout clothes behind and I wish I wouldn't have in order to partake in the lovely fitness center and climbing wall! Oh well... next time. First, you need a tour guide in here or you'll be lost instantly. Luckily someone walks you back to the locker room and gives you your robe and a small tour before the services. The locker room in itself is more relaxing retreat then "changing" room. Again, I wasn't prepared because I would definitely have spent some time in the whirlpool and sauna. Also, everything you could want is provided for you. Hair products, they have it. Skin care products, they have it. Lemon water, they have it. It was a lovely place to relax and unwind before the actual relaxing and unwinding I was about to partake in. My massage was excellent. I wish I remembered her name... sorry yelpers. She was attentive to my trouble areas while not neglecting the rest of my body and good about checking if the pressure was right. I was then led to the pedicure station for my other service. They don't have a ton of polish to select a color from, but I didn't have any trouble finding one that suited me. The chair wasn't the most comfortable but it also wasn't the worst. I opted for just the mini pedi and was perfectly satisfied with the service. They used nice products and my toes look beautiful. We'll see how long they last... The place is pretty pricey, but since it was a treat from the boyfriend, I enjoyed myself thoroughly. :) If you're really looking to treat yourself, they have a package of treatments that last four hours and they serve you lunch and I think it's a decent deal compared to the ala carte services. Maybe treat yourself to that if you've got the time. Oh, and the boyfriend got a haircut that looked pretty darn good! read more

My family and I use the spa whenever we come to Lake Geneva. The attendants are always friendly, the space is always clean and presentable, and the services are always worth the money. For this visit my mom and I both chose to try the Himalayan salt massage. A salt powder is infused into the oil to create an energizing and relaxing experience. James was my massage therapist and provided one of the most relaxing massages I have ever had. My mom had Holly as her massage therapist and she also did a terrific job. I will be asking for James next time I visit. I can't wait for my next visit to the Well Spa. read more

Our visit to the Spa was the best part of our stay at Timber Ridge Lodge, the water park hotel, next door. It was such a pleasant surprise to find that the Spa would be open on Xmas day. I took my teenage daughters for their first spa experience. The only issue is that kids under the age of 16 cannot be left unattended so I had my treatment first, and then my husband dropped off the kids. I had the signature massage with Carlos. I was so relaxed afterwards - I felt liked cooked spaghetti. The staff was very attentive. They checked in my kids, and brought them back - so no need for me to change out of my robe. I spent the rest of the time relaxing to new age music while my kids had their services. We couldn't linger too long because we also had brunch plans, but I wish I had time to enjoy the other amenities. The showers looked fabulous. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be making our Spa appointments in advance. read more

I had never been but my husband booked a couple massage recently. The massage and service were good, but nothing note worthy for the price you pay there. Massage can be more enjoyable if they can figure out how to control the noise from the hallway and the men locker room. You see, the massage room we were serviced in is directly next to the men locker room and it's hard not to hear the muffled conversations, foot traffic from customers, staffs and noises when staffs were moving carts around. It's very bothering to me when my goal for massage (as I filled out in the form for my massage therapist) was "relaxation". Although I felt more relaxed than coming into the spa, I could have enjoyed more if the noise level was controlled. I left rather disappointed for the massage (over $500) we both received. Last the lobby where you check-in and pay for bill is rather less spa-like ambiance. I think there's opportunity for the management to improve the experience there. 3 stars at best for me. read more

I got a massage which I loved. It was an aromatherapy massage and I upgraded to a Moroccan oil which I would not do again as I didn't notice much difference. The relaxation area was small bir decent. There's a hot tub, steam room, and sauna. All was good minus the receptionist who upon checkout asked if 20% was good for a tip and then charged us once we said "sure." My suggestion: let me add my own tip amount. It is very forward of anyone to ask you if you're ok with tipping a certain amount. Honestly, I would have tipped my therapist more if I wasn't questioned about it. read more

Had an amazing weekend at the Well spa, fitness facility and group classes were 2nd to none, very clean and up to date classes and equipment. Lindsey was AMAZING in the Salon loved my hair and she had some great recommendations for dining around town. Ceciley gave me a fantastic pedicure, all the staff was very friendly and attentive. Boyfriend & I pay our second visit to the Well Sa after a long weekend camping in Devils Lake. We were in for a Couples Massage that was priced at 230$. (not including tip) After our massages, we both agreed that they were mediocre at best. They seemed shot - maybe because the massage therapists didn't even take us back to the room until 10 minutes after our appointment was scheduled to begin! The massages were not relaxing - the therapists were coughing & sneezing & pumping the lotion bottle vigorously (which was very distracting). When it came time to put the head rest on the massage bed, the massage therapist had to shake around the bed and disturb my attempt at relaxation. While I'll still use the spa facilities when visiting the Grand Geneva, I will never spend money on a spa service at the Well Spa again. read more

This facility is huge. Full work out center complete with a 35 foot rock wall and basket ball court. A wide variety of work out classes are offered, and complimentary with a guests stay at the hotel or a service at the spa. The spa offers full salon as well as massages and skin care treatments. It looks nice to me but I am not sure yet, I am comparison shopping online and this is the only place that I can not get the online reservation tool to work. I think it is totally broken, tried different browsers, coming back different times of the day, still not working. Very frustrating. You enter the date and number of guests but it will not register when you try to select different room options or show any pricing. All the websites for resorts in the Dells work much better. I do not have time to call during normal business hours, wish they would fix this. read more

My overall experience was very nice. I feel as though the spa is outdated and could definitely use a facelift. However I had a fabulous massage by a woman named crystal as well as a wonderful facial. I highly recommend and would definitely return. read more

The Grand Geneva Resort is a huge huge compound of a place, overflowing with screaming kids (see my reviews of the Chophouse and the Grand Geneva Resort). The Well Spa somehow manages to accommodate all those people without ever feeling crowded. Bravo! The receptionist wasn't exactly friendly, and while she showed me into the ladies' locker room and explained protocol, she abandoned my fiance in the hallway to figure his own locker room out for himself. For the record, the lockers are tricky. Help is necessary. I was offered assistance several times by attendants in the locker room. It was nice to have them so available but if I'm half-naked and wobbling on one foot I probably don't need to be approached and asked if there's anything they can assist me with. Just being around and available would be enough. The whirlpool hot tub in the locker room was really great so do bring a swimsuit to take advantage of that if you visit. One thing to note: the robes and towels are awful! Very scratchy and rough and not at all luxurious. Very disappointing. The large, co-ed relaxation room was great but I would have preferred if people in street clothes weren't traipsing through with snow and mud while I sat there in my robe (and nothing else), pre-treatment. I received a facial from Gail. She did an incredible job of massaging my entire upper body into jelly as well as exfoliating my face. Arms, shoulders, neck, scalp - she massaged it all. I definitely recommend the facials here. This place is a solid 3 stars. I've seen better but it's A-Ok if you're staying at the resort. read more

Although part of the Grand Geneva Resort, the spa and fitness center deserves it's own listing, especially since it's accessible to non-resort guests. I did stay on the resort and couldn't resist some much needed pampering (after so many yelp reviews). I believe outside patrons can only book within two weeks, but call to see what they'll do for you. They offer a huge list of beauty and body treatments in an inviting atmosphere. The sport center is huge. Basketball, rock climbing with individual instruction, tennis, plus classes in yoga, pilates, and other workouts. The only thing better than a full-body massage is getting one the day after strenuous exercise and having the shit scared out of you. I have a paralyzing fear of heights but it seemed like a great day to try indoor rock climbing. Whether you are athletic or not, you must give this a try, and if you are scared of heights, well, read on... First off, I never knew rock climbing didn't require a muscular upper-body. As Scott instructed me, rely on the legs to push you up and hands for balance. Scaling a wall is a mental exercise in which I found myself considering my next move carefully, like solving a puzzle. I did a couple walls and got "stuck" more than once, where I thought I'd found the impossible combination of holds, but I always figured it out. Climbing to the top was cool but I wanted to climb back down again. Scott said "no way, baby, you're gonna have to LET GO of that wall now and come down using the ropes." Aaaiieee... But I made it! The second time was much easier. In the end I realized it was all about visualization and believing in the possibilities presented before me. Sounds very cheesy but nothing was truer that day. God, I'm a wimp. I was off to the pedicure - it was perfect. Next was a scalp treatment - nothing like twenty minutes of stress-melting head massage, and a deep conditioner for my pool hair. The full-body massage was fantastic. The therapist did the standard treatment, with some deep-tissue work on my shoulders and neck, tight from clenching my teeth while sleeping. I love massages, partly because I suspect I've got a little undiagnosed OCD, and I'm a sucker for logic and symmetry, especially with some artistic flair. So the whole time she applied the perfectly researsed deep strokes to my back, I thought how a woman's back is like a cello, as beautiful and pleasingly balanced. A woman's body is also quite well-suited for rock-climbing, since we rely on our dexterity and to a lesser degree, strength. Last on the list of services was a swiss shower, sort of a water massage, then I left the spa feeling relaxed and with a better sense of physical and mental harmony than usual. read more

The Well Spa is not unlike a YMCA.... Not in the filthy, half broken equipment sense of course. Or the creepy old ladies who seem to stare at your "junk" like it is about to jump out and point in their direction at any moment... Ok so Well Spa is actually far from a YMCA but it is a kick-ass spa/fitness center and a perfect compliment to your stay at the Grand Geneva. While it tends to get a bit pricey, as any spa does, the fitness center is top notch. Well maintaned equipment, pretty decent indoor rockwall, verrrry accomodating locker rooms. The staff there seemed to take unusually good care of the patrons. For instance my girlfriend and I were treated by an older chap named Paul to wonderful services including swiss showers, a sauna/hot tub regiment, and even dining reccomendations. Now thats what I call service!!! Maybe a bit over the top but you can't even find a Mother's Day card that thoughtful. This places gets 5-stars for a reason, well a handful of them but the biggest being it's nothing like a YMCA. read more

Last Christmas my mother, sister, and I throughly enjoyed the services at the Well Spa as gifts to one another. We all selected facials and massages which my sister and I were able to have together as my mother recieved her facial. The massage was fantastically relaxing and deeply soothing, and fun with my sister & I exchanging quips with each other throughout. The women giving us the massages were tolerant of our behaviour and very gifted with their hands. In between services we all met up in the relaxation room for water and raves about our experiences. The facial was also top notch, we all suffer from sensitive skin and the product line they used was gentle enough on our skin as well as cleansing. I'd also like to mention the reception and staff are very kind people who check on your progress often in a nonobtrusive way. As a person in the salon service industry I greatly appreciate that extra touch. The reason this review is a year late is because only yesterday we were talking about last years visit and decided to make reservations again this year. We may make this a tradition, once a year because of the expense, but nevertheless you pay for the quality. read more

I get massages often, once a month at least, so I had to check this place out when I stayed at the resort. I was impressed with the spa its self, the whirl pool, sauna, steam room, and showers. Very nice. Although with all the hair and skin products I wish that they had face wash. It would be really nice to wash the face after opening pours in the steam room. But maybe they think this would down sell their facials. But anyways, the massage was mediocer. My therapist seemed nervous and rushed. It was by no means a bad massage, but being the most expensive ive had I kind of expected it to be at least in the top five out of all the massages ive ever had? I dunno...maybe im asking to much. But ive had better for half the price. read more

Spent the day at the Well Spa today. Had a couples massage with my husband, facials and pedicures. All of our therapists were very friendly. Very relaxing massage and facial. The ladies that did our pedicures were very hospitable offering us beverages. We were even offered a complimentary Mimosa. The locker room attendant was very friendly and gave me a tour explaining all of the amenities. I would recommend a day at the Well Spa. I read other reviews about the condition of the locker room. I do agree the restroom area needs to be updated. The middle stall door won't lock. I read that in someone else's review as well. If you can look past those minor issues you will enjoy your services. read more
