Worst place ever. So short staffed. You can put your light on and no one comes for 5 to 6 hours. They did not give the right meds. Some meds not at all then blamed it on the hospital that she was transfered from. I had to change her diaper they would leave her in it for the whole day soaked and dirty. It was dirty and smelled bad. The food was never, ever warm, not even the coffee. The staff was okay but not enough of them.

My 86 year old dad who has dementia was in here for rehab after falling and breaking his leg He was fitted with s boot at the hospital he came from and was to be worn whenever he was out of bed in the two week stay i would come to visit at different times and h he'd be in his wheelchair and half the time the boot was off i started my complaint the first time first full day of care with the nurse and a tech they told me it would be past on about the boot the second and third time i talked to the nurse again and one of the excuses was he took it off himself My dad with his dementia would not be able to figure out how to take the Velcro straps off the boot but even if he did do that they should have told him not too and he'd comply It happened again and that time i went to the director of nurses i was fortunate to get the Vice President of the area to talk to and i told him the story and he pretty much said the same thing about him taking it off sometimes but he would make sure that it would be put on The last complaint even to the VP was he was not getting showered he would wear the same clothes for several days in a row so two different time i had to ask for him to get showered My dad is not incontinant but they put s brief on for protection and i agreed to that but on a few occasions it was wet the day i picked him up they didn't put one on he couldn't find it even ask for the bathroom and his shorts were drenched when i found him he had s tiny piece of toilet paper trying to wipe it off He smelled awful I took him home and the first thing i did i took him straight to the shower and cleaned him up I believe they are the ones that turned me into the Adult Protective Services when in fact they were negligent to my dad during his stay read more

My stay at Wellbridge has been a nightmare of mistakes when it comes to dispensing my meds correctly. For two weeks, I have been missing meds, been given wrong doses, and had meds canceled. This, in turn, caused me severe pain issues that impacted my ability to participate in therapies needed for improvement in my injuries. COMMUNICATION IS A DISASTER IN THIS PLACE. read more

I was there for two weeks and what a mess. Day time nurses and aids were good but the night time were just terrrible. You would sit having to go to the bathroom for 5-6 or 7 hours with them not comming to the help button. They went through my personal stuff without asking and took things out of my bag.. PT/OT ladies were good but the men made up their own stories to cover what they didn't do. They guy who runs the place has more excuses that carter has pills to cover all there mess up. They had a new lady doing insurance and she didn't know how to do it so it didn't get done. Insurance turned me down so these fools sent me home before I could walk. I am updating my review for the 2019 stay at Wellbridge on Dorr Road in Brighton. The two stars are for the cleanliness and attractiveness of the facility. They lost my free robe in the wash and would not give me a new one. I never received the free massage. Beauty shop was only open once when I was there. Aides were slow to respond to the buzzer for pain pills and bathroom assistance. Some were rude. Food was full of carbs. They tried to overcharge for physical therapy. My insurance company made them reduce the fee for that. They tried to give and charge me for upper body therapy which I didn't need. They didn't discuss costs of physical therapy upon admission. They said my insurance would cover it when I knew it wouldn't because I wasn't on Medicare. I hate to think what it is like now with so many staff leaving the medical field due to Covid and required vaccinations. Although they take in many millions they harassed me constantly about making a monthly payment of $200 until I paid it off with too much correspondence and paperwork. Avoid putting your loved ones in these places especially when they can restrict visitors due to Covid. Neglect and abuse is a big danger in all nursing homes even if they are new and clean. read more

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS NITEMARE OF A FACILITY IF YOU WANT THEM TAKEN CARE OF! The staff (not all but most) are rude and do NOT know what they are doing! My Mom recently had open heart surgery. The second day she was there, a nurse helped her to the bathroom (after waiting 20 minutes after hitting the nurse call button) and left her on the toilet for over a half-hour. Mind you, she pulled the emergency cord 5 minutes after she was taken to the restroom. The nurse decided that it would be a good idea to give another patient a shower first and then get my Mom off the toilet. I guess it was okay to just leave her there? The next day they send her lunch. She let the staff know (and it was in her chart) that she could not eat beef. For lunch she got beef. When they came to get the tray, the nurse asked why she didn't eat the beef. Mom again explained that she could not eat beef. The nurse actually argued with her telling her that she was just confused and that she just didn't like beef. Mom explained that because of a previous surgery she could not digest beef. The nurse argued with her again saying that she had never heard such a thing. Mind you, my Mom hasn't eaten beef in 20 years due to this issue. Even after this discussion she was still served beef. Another issues we had was that it takes the nurses anywhere from 15 to 47 minutes (yes, I really said 47) to respond to a nurse call button. Thank God there wasn't an emergency or my Mother would be dead! When asking the nurse why it took so long to respond I got a very insincere "I'm sorry, it was my fault." Okay, but why did it take so long? She says "I thought that someone else got the call, but they didn't." I then stated that if the call had been taken care of the red light (the call light) would have been turned off. I then got an lovely eye roll and another "I'm sorry." THAT'S NOT ALL!!! The nurses do NOT know what they are doing! I got into an argument with one nurse because she was saying that nitroglycerin was in the same class as a narcotic. Nitro is used for patients who have angina attacks (heart attacks). It is not controlled and or abused in any way. A narcotic is a schedule 2 drug (Norco, Percocet, Adderall, Ritalin ect...) and is highly abused. They aren't anywhere near the same class of drugs. I actually laughed at her. The nurse told me that it needed to be locked up with her other meds. I told her that my Mom was to carry that on her in case of an angina attack and it was stated in her chart. She said that all she had to do was press her nurse call button. This is the point that I lost it! I told her that if she took my Mom's meds and she needed to push that button that she would be dead long before a nurse even thought about attending to the "Call Button"! Needless to say, Mom kept her meds on her. The next day I called the Manager, he said that all was taken care of....but it wasn't! Another instance was when another nurse tried giving Mom her oral diabetes meds. Her sugar was at 70 after eating dinner. That is quite low. She told the nurse she wasn't taking the med because it would lower her sugar further. The nurse told her that the normal range was from 60-100. First of all, 60 is very low. The normal is 90-120. If my Mom would have not flat out refused to take the med she would have been thrown into a low blood sugar and given the time it take a nurse to respond again, she could have died because of the negligence of an untrained nurse. Which brings me to the third incident with medications and the nurses that do what they want. Mom isn't supposed to take her blood pressure meds if her bp is below 110. This time it was at 90 and the nurse told her that she didn't care what it was, that she was taking her meds. I BEG YOUR PARDON? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE NURSES??? Instead of arguing with your patient about something that could potentially kill them, LOOK IN THE CHART AND FIGURE IT OUT!!! THE NURSES NEED PROPER TRAINING OR THEY ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE!!! read more

My review is for NOVI location. Beautiful spa atmosphere. Great Rehab therapy..., but they are taking in too many "guests" , overwhelming staff and than the patients arent getting as much attention when they are full. We had to wait a 1/2 hr. for someone to help my Parent to go to the bathroom. Please hire more staff. I have noticed although it is their property, they are taking wheelchair, chairs, walkers out of my relatives room and not returning it when they need it....So they need to work out a few glitches. Otherwise....nice place. On a side note, I feel the nurses know more than the Drs. They deal with the patients daily. read more

Well where to start-went there from U/M hospital in early afternoon and of course they lost the post'it the had my reservation on it(yes I said post'it) They finally found a room and things were OK.Things got very bad later. At midnight I was awaken from a sound sleep by a male tech and an alleged nurse and they proceeded to do a complete body inspection, and I mean complete in the worst way. Pictures were taken and loaded into a computer. I believe this is there way of CYOA! Then the nurse(?) proceeded to mixed up my insulin and loaded a syringe with the short acting in place of the long acting(once a day insulin) this was at midnight! Luckily I caught her, in my opinion, potentially fatal mistake. Called my wife and she talked to me on and off most of the night and we left the next morning making them pay for the transfer to Caretel of Brighton. In the morning all we got was wise-assed nasty deffensive comments from the director of nursing and her lackey. No apology from anyone at Welbridge!!!. Incompetent, pompous doctor and head nurse refused to cooperate with any other doctors. I don't know why UofM even recommended them. Completely undid all the good UofM emergency did for my dad who had been on the brink of death. Wellbridge, or Hellbridge as we call it now, ruined any chances of recovering from his infections, and their Incompetencies are too numerous to list. Steer clear of them - definitely not the A-team! Just like any other nursing home. Did not enjoy at all. All bells and whistles but not enough staff. Food was terrible. Sheets slide off plastic mattress if you move. I went for rehab for knee replacement. PT was painful and unprofessional. Only thing this place has going is wonderful massage therapist. Was out in 5 days. I am retired nurse. read more

This has got to be one of the worst rehabs I've ever seen. If I could give it zero stars I would. I guess the one star can go to physical therapy. The care here was awful. They are constantly short staffed. The nurses are over worked and miss things because they are trying to cover too many patients. House doctor would not return phone calls. Labs ordered by infection disease doctor and cardiologist ignored. Labs were mixed up and sent to the wrong doctors. We had to fight them for everything, even to do these necessary tests. We had to catch the fact that she was oxygen deprived and get her on oxygen. She was there a week after having a septic hip and it took them 60 hours to get her antibiotic started; that took MULTIPLE phone calls from us. Her cardiologist ordered some specific heart tests. He did not receive the results for 2 weeks. Wellbridge kept insisting they had been sent. When cardiologist did receive them they tried to call Wellbridge several times to have them send her immediately to ER. They did not answer the phone. The lab had also tried to contact them with the critical results and again they didn't answer. The next morning when the cardiologist got in touch with family, we rushed immediately to get her to ER and had to fight with them to get them to release her. They threatened her with going AMA and insurance not paying for things. The doctor tried to say they could handle this "in house" and finally got in touch with cardiologist who said she was absolutely to go to ER. We were told at ER that her potassium was critically low. There were a couple of nurses that did their very best to help our mom. The physical therapy department was very good. Unless you plan on staying with your loved one 24/7 and are prepared to fight for everything they need, I would avoid this place. What I have listed here are only the highlights. Oh my gosh!!! Do NOT go here. It looks so nice and the admission staff are very welcoming. They are great sales people. However, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Terrible medical facility and doctor. There is a disconcerting lack of communication within. Didn't have one medication for 3 days because they "ran out" and acted like it was no big deal. The doctor is rarely around to check progress of patients. In one instance over prescribed morphine and it continued for three more days after I told the nurse that my husband was hallucinating. He got bed sores on his feet which has never happened in previous long term bed confinement. Too many issues to even get into here. The food is awful. Believe me. My husband has chronic health issues. Have spent time in long term rehab in Ann Arbor several times. This place is awful. read more
