The teachers here, for the most part werent your typical cardboard cutout, boring teachers.I actually enjoyed going to school when I went here.Alot more than I can say for my high school years.

I enjoyed most of my teachers, it was a safe environment, and I learned a lot. Something I didn't appreciate was if I got sick and I wanted to sleep in the nurse's office, my teachers would mark me as absent, and it wouldn't get excused when clearly I was just sick! So when my report card came home my mom was totally furious and thought I was skipping. Until after summer ended and she finally believed me -_- TRMS needs to work on that one. Anyway, I liked being active in school so it was pretty fun being in ASB and making new friends. The dances were always fun and safe. I remember back in the day when we used to sell glowsticks at dances, candy grams, etc. Haha, good times! Any school that's safe with a decent list of caring teachers is OK in my book.

I really had high hopes for this school, considering this is where I went when I was in grade…read moreschool. From the very first time I ever enrolled my son, office staff has always shown a little bit of nonchalant rudeness. At times that I would need to go pick up my son early, or drop off lunch money, they're usually coherent but I never see any kind of smiles or friendliness. It's like ok, if you don't like working for or with kids, then why are you here? But today really upset me. I walked up to the office and it was "Drill " time. Some larger set woman yelled at me from the benches, "we're having a drill, you can't go in there". I walked closer to the group of women who apparently was the staff of Pomeroy, and asked if I could drop off money for my son's lunch because I'm on my way to work (which I would have been able to do in the office if it was open). The larger women said, "It's a drill, we can't". So in all defense I said "Well what am i supposed to do, leave my son with no money and let him starve? He needs lunch money" That is when this chunky Caucasian, red head looking woman stepped in and said "BY LAW---- BY LAW!! You can't leave this territory when we're in a drill." I'm just thinking in my head, #1 You didn't even answer my question-- all you care about is "laws", not the kids well-being/hungerness #2 Did I ever agree to trying leaving the site if there was a drill?? I literally was just there trying to drop off my son money for lunch. One thing for sure I know is true, this staff (or most) does not care about a child's interest. They are there for themselves. So petty.

Ms. Elba's was, without exaggeration, the best daycare experience we've had -- and with three kids,…read morewe've been through four other daycares/preschools in the area, so we have real basis for comparison. My son was there from age 2 all the way until kindergarten, and from day one, the love was obvious. The teachers and staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely tuned in -- they understand each child as an individual. That kind of attunement is rare and it shows in how happy the kids are there. The environment is thoughtfully designed for learning and real fun: a cozy classroom for circle time and desk work, plus a gorgeous, shaded backyard with fruit trees, tons of outdoor toys, and even a sand pit. The curriculum is intentional and flexible enough to engage both the littler kids and the older ones. The food deserves its own paragraph. Homemade breakfast, lunch, and snacks -- and my son ate so well there. I didn't fully realize how well until after he left for kindergarten and started having constipation issues from suddenly not drinking water at school and eating enough veggies. That's how good the food and routines were -- I didn't know what we had until it was gone. Ms. Elba also does a wonderful job bringing families into the fold. There are regular parent events throughout the year -- Christmas, Mother's Day, and more -- where the kids perform little songs and dances they've been practicing. She also brings in outside educational kid performers now and then, and always makes it a whole-family affair, not just a kid activity. Those are some of our favorite memories from that time. While it's obviously wonderful for younger kids, I want to highlight that it's also a fantastic option for preschool and TK-age kids. Unlike public TK -- which is a short day, and a large classroom that isn't the right fit for every child -- Ms. Elba's offers a full day of genuinely high-quality care in a smaller, more nurturing setting. We only wish we'd discovered it sooner -- our older two girls would have loved it just as much. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

The Positives that kept me re enrolling for 6 years: Staff: I always loved the staff especially the person who always helped fit my daughter dance shoes. They were friendly and always responded to questions. Location: Close and easier to find drop off in a safe neighborhood. The Costumes: For the Most part the costumes are beautiful and it even got better this past year end performance. The staff puts a lot of thought into this. Dance Teachers: kids friendly not strict at all (could be good or bad) The Venue:Santa Clara convention center is a great venue. Many other dance studios can't afford this size venue. Negatives: Repetitive program. You will hear the same songs after 2 years. Simple moves: If you are not in the comp team, you won't learn much after 2 yrs. My daughter said 3 years ago, she learned 3 new moves, 2 years ago she learned 1 new move. Last year she didn't learn ANY new moves. Now as I search for other dance studios, she's already behind for her age group for non comp classes. It's hard to continue paying increasing fees without seeing progress. All I wait for is one fancy year end show with beautiful costumes.... I hope they hire new dance teachers that can dance like their star comp team girls.

The place is kept extremely clean and tidy and Nidhi is very organized. They have a daily schedule of activities (outside play, circle time for learning, craft, nap time...). The kids are kept busy and they are learning a lot. My 2 yo was coming back home enumerating seasons, or months of the year, talking about "under/over" and "small/big" and singing songs. The backyard for play is very big, lots of grass, and they have small slides, swings, small tricycles... They provide food and snacks, mostly kid-friendly Indian vegetarian dishes. The ladies helping Nidhi are doing a great job and they are loving. Daughter was always talking about Miss Surya. I remember looking at other home daycares in the area, and this one was on the cheaper side, meaning not the most expensive. Definitely would recommend. Daughter joined when she turned 1 only and I was apprehensive but she loved going to Nidhi's so much, that it really brought me peace of mind.
