My husband and I lived here for about 6 months from August 2015 to February 2016. The park is located in a beautiful rural area of Nevada. The Walker River runs right through the park and almost every spot backs up to it. The spot we had was spacious enough to accommodate a 30+ft 5th Wheel, and two vehicles. The park has basic amenities. There is a small laundry room and bath house. There is a great little Mexican restaurant/basic general store just down the road called Rosie's. The bar across the street is also clean and serves decent food. Grover Hot Springs State Park is an 1 hr away and worth the drive. Lake Tahoe is also only 1 hour and a half away. If you like small town pace, wildlife, nature, peace and quiet, listening to the river at night and seeing a plethora of stars; then you will enjoy this area. read more

BEWARE: 8/4/2015 Don't make a reservation with this park, because if you have to change it you're Screwed! They will charge you even if you are not there, so wait until you know exactly what date you'll arrive and then reserve. NOW MIND YOU-THESE THINGS WERE NOT ADVERTISED HOWEVER THEY ARE USUAL AMENITIES AT RV PARKS.... Cons- Charged us for days we weren't there!!! Unexperienced management No amenities- no pool, no exercise room, no game room, etc Extra small laundry room- only 1 set of a washer and dryer for 32 spots- its dirty and claustrophobic No cell coverage for Verizon users No wifi- you have to pay $70?? (The $25 one wouldn't work for us) Gravel lots and driveways, most other places have grass and pavement Far from fuel, groceries and shopping (Minden and Gardernville is 25 mins away and Carson City is 55 mins away) Pros- Quiet Shade trees Most spaces are on the river Experience: We called in early June to reserve a space for a month starting July 1st. We sent a $100 check to reserve our space. My husband was informed that he had to work past July 1st on June 24th. So we called Les -the manager to let him know what had happened and asked him if we could change our reservation to July 4th. He was easy going about it all and told us no problem. Mine you, he NEVER informed us at that time that we would be charged for the days before we even arrived, July 1st- 3rd. My husband's job is unpredictable and sometimes we need to stay longer. And this happened, so I spoke to Les on July 31st and asked him if we could stay another day or two longer. He again was easygoing about it and said yes. And NEVER mentioning that we owed rent the next day! On August 3rd, Les came to my door asking me for the rent. He went on to say that I owed for the last 3 days and any more days I planned to stay. I explained that we called to change our date and he said he needed to charge us for days we weren't here to save the space. Mind you, there was other spaces that he could have given others and no one CAME! I was expecting to pay $60ish for an extra 2 days and ended up paying $190 for an entire week rather than just the 2 days I needed. Les required us to pay for the 3 days (Aug 1-3) that should have already been covered since we arrived on July 4th and the 2 extra days we needed. Les and Karen are the nicest people you'll ever meet however it's clear they've never been to other RV parks to see how the operate and what they offer! UPDATE: 08/20/15 Since we had to pay the $190 and were paid through for the week, we stayed so we didn't have to pay double rent AGAIN for August.( Like we did in July-we paid for our place in Utah for July 1-3 as well as here-THE DAYS WE WEREN'T HERE) We had some mail come to us and Les came to our door to deliver it and when I reached for the mail, He refused and said "We need to talk about the Yelp review, are you going to take it down?" Needless to say it wasn't a nice interaction with him, so we will NEVER return. Michelle the owner replied to this message saying: "If you give us fair notice and cancel your reservation, we don't charge. If you need to come later, we save the space for you but we do charge for it." THIS IS NOT TRUE- WE GAVE A WEEK NOTICE (June 24th vs July 1st) TO CHANGE OUR RESERVATION AND WE WERE CHARGED ANYWAY!!! NOT A HAPPY EXPERIENCE AT ALL! read more

I absolutely love this place!!!! We visited short term several years ago. We extended our two week visit into a 3 week visit because we just couldn't leave! Management does an amazing job! The restrooms are clean. The laundry room is functional and the grounds are immaculate! The full time residents are all very friendly!! This is NOT a place where you will find a work-out room, pool or clubhouse! Neither is that advertised!! It's a stunningly beautiful spot on the West Walker River in the small, farming community of Wellington. It is simply put PARADISE!!!! We now keep a full time trailer at the Wellington station resort. It is beautifully managed. It feels like home. I'm very jealous of those lucky people who live there year-round. read more

Wellington Station is a true gem! I have stayed here twice. Once for a month in my camping trailer while fishing in the area. Then, the following year when I needed a place to stay for an extended time while looking for a home/property in the area I leased a very large travel trailer from them for 6 months. Both times I couldn't have asked for more. It is a very lovely, quiet and friendly place with beautiful scenery and good people. The RV spots are all naturally landscaped, quite large and separated with fences and plants. You won't find the concrete and asphalt world here. I appreciated that the roads and vehicle spots are amply graveled so dust is not a problem. The RV'ers have access to a full set of gender-designated restroom and shower facilities, which was nice when I was in the camping trailer! They are kept immaculately clean and in functioning order, as is the laundry facility. Most of the spots are directly on the West Walker River. While there I have seen mink, beaver, trout, Mule Deer and many, many birds. And at night it is a quick walk from the lights in the park to see the night sky in all it's glory! Perhaps what I like about it most though, is that it is in a perfect location! While in the park it seems very remote and away from the noise, bustle, pollution and confusion of city-life, but it is really only minutes to everything you need. There are two restaurants within walking distance with good food and full bars. Almost within walking distance is one of the best Basque style restaurants in northern Nevada, the Heyday Inn! A full Mega-Mart is 30 minutes away and within 5-15 minutes there are at least 4 convenience-style stores (a couple very well stocked) as well as two gas stations, a medical clinic, the post office, the dentist office, a couple pizza joints, a casino, a top-end steakhouse, etc etc. Heck, there used to even be a brothel right down the road but, unfortunately, or not - your choice!, it has been closed for many years. lol Les and Karen, the managers, as well as Michele and Jimmy, the owners, couldn't be more friendly, professional or accommodating. In my second stay I wound up finding and buying a house two months before my lease was up. Michele offered, without prompting by me, to let me out of the rest of the lease! They kept my deposit of course but relieved me of my obligation for the last two months rent. That is doing business with your heart as well as your pocket book! I would recommend this place in a heart beat for anybody who wants a quiet, nature oriented getaway but still wants to be close to civilization and it's comforts. You won't regret your stay here! read more

I recently stayed at Wellington Station Resort RV Park (Oct.2015). Les, the manager is just great! Friendly, patient, informative, & funny. All my calls about the site options, amenities, etc. were offered. Our site had FULL hookup, wide space, table, and flat ground. Now for the facilities: shower/toilet was really clean & attended to, people in perm. Homes were all very nice. Best of all, the price was right. The park offers basic options, but if you're wanting a hoy poloy kinda place go to Palm Springs. This is not for you, but if you're looking for. Reasonable, friendly, clean, well kept RV Park, this is it. I'll be back, for sure! Bruce B. Vacaville, Ca. read more

This is our absolute favorite spot to come and relax! We drove by on vacation in 2011 and bought our "bug out" and rented our space right on the water:) The grounds are pristine thanks to Les and Karen who have manicured and hedged the property. This is a hidden jewel!! read more

History
Established in 1970.
Wellington Station Resort was built by Jim and Marion Compston in the 1970’s. It has changed hands over the years but since 2017 has been owned by a retired airline pilot and his family. They bought the park due to their love of the area. The small red schoolhouse located across from the park is now a private museum detailing Wellington's history and once stood on the property. The park features mature shade trees, graveled roads and an additional 10 acres across the river that serves as a private large dry camping area for large groups such as church, scouts, off-roaders and family reunions . We have many large group reservations throughout the year! There are restrooms with free, hot showers and a small laundry room. There is full onsite park management and we would love to host you.
Meet the Manager: Tom B.
Tom has worked for the owner for 10+ years in various roles and now park manager. In 2024 he came out to the park to live and takes great pride in keeping the park a beautiful place for everyone to come and enjoy. He serves as the head of maintenance and makes sure that our residents get prompt service to any issues. Stop by and say hi!
