They won't take you to your doctors appointments, dentist appointments, job interviews, nothing. You're forced to find your own transportation. My house manager was great, but inexperienced. Unprofessional at times. As a client, I did not receive the help I needed, or PAID FOR, and once they saw my insurance wasn't paying, they kicked me to the curb quick. They only care about the money. If you're looking to get clean, stay clean, and to better your life, you might want to look elsewhere.

They even did my HRT assessment (which is useless and a money grab). Look at the reviews. I know I should've before interacting with them. Scandal after scandal, and I was unfortunately a part of it. Fast forward to 2021. I'm a newly out Trans person. Seeking community, mental health services, and a safe place to be myself. The LGBTQ Center isn't a safe space, and I will go into detail. May 2021 I was contacted by James Oliver Prewitt also known as "Jay Prewitt". Seemed ok enough to speak with him. Since he is a Board Director at the center. Oh how wrong I was, and I should have never let this man have my phone number. Initially James was supposed to link me, to the Queer of Color 2021 event. So I can watch people like me discuss issues that pertain to us! Instead he solicited me, for sex numerous times, wouldn't shut up about my Grindr profile(which wasn't relevant), and sent me a plethora of nudes. Understandably, I was upset, confused, and felt extremely violated. So I reported said behavior to the LGBTQ Center OC. Since, that's using community events to solicit sex, and morally just terrible. Did the center do anything about this? No they didn't, and attempted numerous times to silence me. James and The LGBTQ Center OC went as far as taking me to court over it. Then after James Oliver Prewitt put me on a "No contact order" he still continuously contacted me, sent me nudes on a variety of social media platforms, and then reported me to PD. I now sit with a misdemeanor charge because I wouldn't allow some man to violate my body and community. The LGBTQ CENTER is not a safe space for Black Trans folks let alone women. They protect the people who fetishize our existences, and then punish us for wanting to exist. Update. Now they are reporting my Yelp review for telling the truth! Sweeties you can't silence me with the courts or PD. I will not be silenced here. Stay mad. Take me back to court. I can say what I want via social media. The court even ordered that. They also told the police department that I have weapons. I have never owned any guns and the police found ZERO upon search. Yes the LGBTQ Center OC is out here trying to kill Black Trans folks.

Vibes - immaculate, food - 8/10, therapy - fun and intriguing, the setting was swanky, the psychiatrist was the only downfall bc they were nonexistent LOL that was the hardest part of my stay bc the first night you are detoxing from ALL meds, yes even prescription ones. The lovely staff who are just doing their jobs have to deal with the fallout of those of us who are used to being able to take our prescription meds without fail bc we know how to maintain our stability. Though that culture shock is very jarring. It actually helps greatly to learn what are the root causes of your pain so you can actually work towards addressing that, instead of masking it with medication, which is a true crisis in our nation currently. Anyhoo, had a great time. Truly reflected on myself and why forgiveness towards myself is such a hard thing for me to accept as well as learning to lower the standards that I set upon myself. Bc truthfully, the longest relationship any of us will ever have, is with ourself. Idk about you but I'd much rather be stuck with my best friend and not my most evil foe.

The whole entire staff are friendly and loving and most of all they care about their clients. I have been discharged with so much education and relapse prevention skills.
