I have had the pleasure of having PT at the Wellness Institute for a few months now due to a shoulder issue. I feel extremely satisfied to be treated there and believe the facility is run amazingly well. From the minute I check in or have any questions, Melinda at the Front Desk is all over it. She runs a tight ship, does it with a great attitude and is extremely pleasant. My PT Richard has been spot on from Day 1. He listens really well, is constantly thinking out of the box and I feel that he is never just prescribing a rote set of exercises like so many PT's do. He set me up with exercises for home and continually adds to that and supplements with new ones in person. He researches, follows up, definitely top notch! Can't speak for the other therapists, but I do see all patients being treated with respect and smiles! read more

He very nearly crippled me! YES, HE VERY NEARLY CRIPPLED ME!! After spending at least five minutes explaining how fragile my lumbar spine condition and that I wanted to be sure he would not do anything to hurt me, he proceeded to do a "high velocity thrust" procedure. I yelled out to "stop you're hurting me" as he did it a second time to the other side of my lower back. I started with at the Wellness Institute as a patient for PT after hip surgery. In May 2022 and then Dec 2022, I had my left hip done and 6 months later the right respectively. I had Jordan as my therapist for my hip rehab and I couldn't have asked for a better person. She was very patient and extremely knowledgable about what needed to be done as I worked through my rehab. I always Ieft my sessions feeling 100% better. I recently needed PT on my right shoulder after rotator cuff repair. I was fortunate enough to have Jordon once again as my therapist and couldn't be more happier. The Wellness Institute if very fortunate to have her as part of their staff! read more

I started at the Wellness Institute due to a back issue that started in November of 2022. Lauren Lee was, and still is, the therapist assigned to me. I cannot express enough how great she has been. Exceedingly knowledgeable and explains things in a manner that is easy to understand. She has been by my side both pre surgery and post. Not only is she knowledgeable but she is very compassionate. She-has stood by my side thru several "meltdowns" and has been able to manage thru my anxiety. So far I feel that the therapy I am receiving has been a big help and it is thanks to Lauren. I had injured both my Achilles tendons somehow back in April. I noticed it the first week of April but was hoping they would heal themselves. By the time I decided to get P/T, it was mid-May. They were very stiff to where I could barely walk in the mornings, a definite 8 to 9 on the 10-pain scale. I had 8 treatments which had helped tremendously, but I was probably still at about a 2 in morning stiffness. I took a few weeks off and did home stretching and exercises, but really was feeling no further improvement; so I went back for six more treatments. Lauren Lee was my physical therapist both times, and Taylor had seen me for several of those treatments as well. Both Lauren and Taylor were excellent! They knew exactly what to do. And they were both very supportive when I was feeling they may not get better than the level 2 stiffness. They explained that the Achilles tendons do take a long time to heal and very well explained the anatomy and healing process. I did finally have that "quantum leap" to where I am pretty much pain free. Even the mornings are about 98 percent back to normal. They gave me several tips on what to do to keep them stretched out, and I do feel that they will eventually get back to pre-injury condition. Thank you, Lauren and Taylor! read more

Let me preface this review by stating that I have had unfortunate health issues throughout my entire life. Due to various reasons, surgeries, etc., and I have been to many rehab clinics throughout the Southeast. Two shoulder surgeries, both hips replaced at aged 40, back issues due to a summer college job at age 19, Etc. Even though I am over all extremely healthy, I still have some back and neck issues that I have been dealing with for over eight months. This is by far the most caring and healing place I have ever walked into in my entire life. Everyone truly seems to care about their job, and most importantly, the healing process for their clients. Quite frankly, I am truly amazed since here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina that is a complete anomaly. Regardless of the business type it is amazing that I found this place here. Keith, Jennifer, Bonnie, and all of the other therapists and assistants I have worked with are quite amazing. Most places I have been in the past work with you when you first arrive, and then proceed to tell you to go stand in a corner and do something for 10 or 15 minutes by yourself. This place is the exception. When I first called and asked if they were a hands on therapist type center, and would they spend their time directly working for me, the answer was yes. The Wellness Institute was truthful in their answer. I am almost finished with my therapy after 2 1/2 months due to their caring resolve, and their knowledge of the human body. Many of my reviews on yelp are quite negative and that is unfortunate. However I am very honest about exactly what happened in a particular situation and I'm telling you if you need physical therapy please consider this place. I have gotten to know these people extremely well during my experience and, that does not happen very often. I hope and pray that this is a successful business for many many years to come. I never considered my "flat" feet to be a problem. When I had trouble with balance in yoga and pain in my arches, I started pt at the wellness center. So happy to find this wonderful facility. I went to the Wellness Center on the recommendation of my doctor friend and I was amazed at the care, knowledge and help they gave me. In September 2018 I went to the Wellness Center for rehab for my left knee replacement and now November 2019 I went for rehab on my right knee replacement. Both times the therapy they gave me had me mobile quickly. I went on limping and in a very short time I came out dancing, they are amazing. The entire staff under the direction of Craig are outstanding professionals. No matter what problem I had they corrected it, explaining to me why and what they were doing, also what I needed to do. I can not thank them enough for all they have done for me. There are so many talented, caring people at the center but I have mention 2 of them are Jenn and Elizabeth took great care of me.
