We have been going to wellness pediatrics for 4 years now. I did my research and determined this would be our pediatric practice. The front desk is kind and courteous. The pediatricians are all great very helpful. We have met with every one of them over the years. We love Dr. Chris, he is kind, attentive and you can tell he loves his job and all the kids he sees. Been going since my son was 5 and the office and Dr. Chris are fantastic! My son has many health problems and Dr. Chris was very compassionate. My son is now 19 and he recently went by himself and he was so comfortable doing that. read more

Terrible office. The staff is extremely rude. Dr. Chris is unethical. They are refusing our children to be seen in the office due to a disagreement we had with the staff. We running late, made a call to advise them of the lateness for the appointment, informed us that was alright. When we arrived they tried to refuse my 8 month old son. I disagreed with them and they were very rude to me, which I proceeded to tell them they were being rude. Then Dr. Chris decided to refuse are children a 5 year old and 8 month. While the doctors seem to medically competent, I would avoid this practice. The doctors and staff (Dr. Maria EXCLUDED) seem to have an incredible level of arrogance, a holier-than- thow attitude, refuse to take responsibility or ownership of issues/errors, and have little sense of "customer service". I suspect that "I'm sorry" has been removed from their employee handbook, and beside manner seriously lacking. They seem to know they're the "only game in town" in Sparta, and are indifferent to maintaining patient relationships. After 4 years, we've taken our 4 kids elsewhere, and won't look back. If Dr. Maria left, we'd happily bring our children to her. read more

Dr. Christian is very warm and energetic with the kids but beware. He will turn into a total bully if you question at all the vaccination schedule. Even just raising slight concerns will get you a full on full throated lecture which willbe sure to ruin your week. While he might lay your delay or spreadout saw the vaccinations, if you choose not to or question the status quo he has no tolerance. Totally self righteous.The other doctors are nothing special. Dry. The staff etc there is completely generic, they don't take seriously any holistic or natural-based medicine. If you do anything outside of the complete mainstream they look at you like you're crazy. If you have concerns about the ingredients and potential adverse reactions to vaccines don't go here. Moved to Sussex County (from Bergen County) more than 3 years ago. One of my biggest worry was finding gooddoctors for my 2 sons (under 5 years old) who not only were knowledgable but will be good to my sons/listen to our concerns/not rush us out the door. I was under the impression that there was more of a selection and "quality" at Bergen County vs. Sussex County. The first pediatrician I had in Sussex County, although knowledgable, had the most horrendous waiting time. And the doctor also really wasn't the friendliest. When it came close to 2 hours waiting time, I knew I had to switch doctors. After searching for good reviews of doctors in the area, I finally settled on Wellness Pediatrics. The Good 1. The office accepted my sons as new patients (after slight begging) even though they initially said the were no longer accepting patients from my current insurance company. (I couldn't go through looking for recommended pediatricians here in Sussex County. Its somewhat hard to find!) 2. The three doctors were all very knowledgable, nice, polite and friendly. a. My sons have been seen by all doctors: Dr. Chris, Dr. Raj and Dr. Maria at different times. I definitely agree that Dr. Chris was the MOST wonderful, friendly and interactive doctor with my sons. But all three doctors in my mind are wonderful because aside from being knowledgeable did not make you feel like you're being rushed and listened to any questions/concerns you have. 3. So far all the nurses that I've encountered or based on my memory were very nice and friendly. I don't remember any negative events. I even remember one of the other nurses being nice/playful/friendly/reassuring to my sons when it was vaccination time. 4. The office always does their best to accommodate you when you need to make a same day appointment. 5. You only wait at the most 10 minutes for your appointment but they're usually very good/not much waiting time. The Bad 1. None that I can think of. The only thing I can think of (which is SUCH A MINOR THING) is I wish the office was a little bigger/waiting area was bigger and maybe more kids toys. It's a little cramped. I'm only saying this because my previous Bergen County pediatrics office was huge. There was a separate area for sick children and another big waiting area for kids with lots of toys and even riding toys/horse. However this is such MINOR MINOR MINOR inconvenience as there really is no waiting time. Overall Thoughts: I can't really say I've had any bad experiences with them so far. Actually one of the reasons I finally decided to write a review was because I called them today and asked to make an appointment today also for my sons' skin issue. The lady I talked to on the phone was very polite, friendly and respectful. And, she was able to put me in for today! Overall I'm pretty happy with Wellness Peds (see above GOOD thoughts) I really think that Sussex County doesn't have as much selection in regards to doctors so I'm just happy that I discovered Wellness Pediatrics for my sons as I'll most likely be living in Sussex County for years to come. read more

There are no words the describe how thankful I am for this office! Not only are all the staff and doctors very nice but Dr. Chris is a true Godsend! His knowledge and demeanor are outstanding. He is wonderful with all 3 of my children...they also love and trust him implicitly. We are all extraordinarily grateful that we found this office! read more

Tried to reestablish my son as a Pt. I made three different phones calls, finally after a week they called. Front office staff is very rude!!! Maria told me that they could not take him back as a Pt. Funny thing is they just took my neighbors kids. I have never had an outstanding bill with this office. Never missed appointments. I had to change Dr's due to my work. I have always recommend Wellness Pediatrics to everyone who ever asks me. Last week they took a new Pt who was a friend of mine. Even though my friend drove past three other peds offices to get to Sparta I told her that Dr Chris and Dr Raj were worth the drive. Wondering if the Drs know what the staff is really doing? Seriously very disappointed with now. I would hope that the Drs do not know what Maria did but if they do shame on them. Beware of the front office staff!!!! read more

I LOVE all of the Dr.'s Here! I call the Nurses line all of the time. They always call me right back and give me the advice I need. Dr. Raj is my favorite. A lot may think he doesn't have the best bedside manner, but he knows his stuff. He's short and to the point. That's what I like in a Dr.! The receptionist desk might not be the warmest bunch of girls, but they're good. I ALWAYS get the appointments when I need them. They ALWAYS call back if I page them after hours. My kids love them. (7 months and 2 years old) That's my most important concern. read more

Dreadful front staff. Literally the worst I have ever dealt with. We have 3 kids and my husband is military, so we have been patients in many doctors' offices. This front staff can not get their act together. It's always something. They forget to fill out referrals. They delete messages and don't bother to follow up. They don't understand insurance. They don't call back. Forms are filled out incorrectly. And never, not once, has one offered an apology. What you get instead is an arrogant, defensive reply. read more

It's true that the front office isn't warm, but they do always manage to get same-day appointments for a sick child - a real hassle at many offices. And Dr. Raj can be haughty though perfectly adequate for general childhood illnesses. But my review is really about Dr. Chris. I can't say enough about this man - kind, conscientious, smart as hell. He always has time to listen carefully, think hard and doesn't cut corners. My children both have learning disabilities, and Dr. Chris is very knowledgeable and doesn't just jump to meds. I suppose I shouldn't be shouting this from the rooftops, lest I can't get appointments with him anymore. But he deserves the accolades, he's the best pediatrician we've ever had. read more

We have been with Dr. Maria and Wellness Pediatrics since my girls were born... Dr. Gatoulis was always there for us - right on with her diagnosis and care every time we walked in their doors. Our little one was born with hip dysplasia - and learning about her first child also having the same made us feel like she understood us better. In the end, all worked out and is perfect now, but we will always remember and appreciate her comforting words of reassurance and recommendations!! read more
