She was able to quickly identify and diagnose the problem (that ~10 previous psychologists and psychiatrists had previously missed). Jeanne quickly found the right combination of medications based on my condition and genetic makeup and had me back on my feet quickly. She then worked with me to tune my medications so that they worked correctly (and without side-effects). We engaged in psychotherapy and ultimately psychoanalysis that has transformed my life in ways too numerous to recount here. I personally saw Cynthia, and Mo on my initial visit. They are thorough and patient. They don't make you feel different. They aren't pushy, they aren't judgmental. Then the first appointment I HAD to have was an intake with one of their therapist even tho I have my own. Then it took EIGHT weeks to see a psychiatrist Jessica Reiss who then also needed her own intake appointment which took an hour and a half. She not only clearly didn't believe me but also was condescending in her tone when asking about diet. I have lost 110 pounds and told her prior to asking about diet that I am a CPT and nutrition coach- she then asks "but do you follow it"... excuse me? DO YOU MAAM? Not only does she not take my therapist diagnosis but she makes me jump through hoops and turns me in to side show Bob requesting a questionnaire from my mother and a FRIEND be filled out THEN TWO WEEKS LATER an in office visit for her to take my blood pressure.... To "confirm diagnosis". Why is it that I need to jump through hoops when I've established a relationship with my own therapist. Why can't you do your job and make an assessment like all the other psychiatrist do? Nope.... This place is a joke and they make you coke back for as many visits as possible. Do not come here. Literally would rather never seek therapy again and won't. I'm done with shrinks. Y'all are the same. GATEKEEPING access to necessary medication is disgusting. I have NEVER sought out medication until this diagnosis before.... I've always turned down meds. ALWAYS! Imagine... finally wanting to get help and being met with roadblocks by YT women. Big shocker. As part of the Athlete Edge track, I experienced athlete-specific groups four times a week. These were some of my favorite groups! Within these groups and in my private sessions with my treatment team, I felt cared for as a person--not just a "patient." While treatment team communication is something I know EDCare is striving to continually improve, there was a constant and heartfelt message from all my providers that I matter. I came to EDCare wanting the info and the strict rules. I LOVE rules, and self-empowerment seemed like a pretty stupid idea to me. Turns out, the unique approach at EDCare allowed me to get outside of the paradigm of endless rules in favor of living and trusting myself. Thanks to those who have stood alongside me at EDCare (Brittany, Clair, Emily, Allie, Dr. Laurent, Brandon, Dr. Pryor, Dr. Becker, Kristen, Linda, Jessica, Kyle, Haley, and so many others), I have the tools I need to keep pursuing recovery, and so does my support system. NP Paulina has been very generous to me. I have never met Dr. Arrigo in all that time, even though the clinic carries her name. When I became pregnant, I had to switch providers for insurance reasons. NP Paulina, under Dr. Arrigo's approval, referred me to several ultrasounds in Intermountain. When they found out I would no longer be a patient, they immediately canceled all my Intermountain ultrasounds, even though I told them not to, since I wasn't sure if I would get new ones in time. They canceled them behind my back. And I had already paid for my OB appointment so the referral should have still be in place even if I'm no longer a patient. I begged them to not cancel and let me transfer them to my new provider. Dr. Arrigo also wanted to charge me over $30 just to write a letter confirming my pregnancy so I could apply for public benefits. This person is not a good human being. She doesn't care if you're going through challenges, she makes things harder once you're no longer a "customer." Doctors need to understand that we don't choose to go to the hospital, it's a need. Yes, money matters, but there should also be care and compassion. Be human and kind. Be a doctor first, then a businessperson.
