I called to schedule a pickup and the individual who answered the phone didn't identify that I was actually calling the transportation company. I had to ask if I had called the right number. When, I indicated I needed a stretcher pickup, I was told that they don't do stretcher pickups. I pointed out that they listed it as one of the services they provided on their website. He said, yeah but we don't do it. I asked then why don't you remove it from your website, so you can stop wasting people's valuable time with having to place unnecessary phone calls? Silence. Basically, what I have been finding with most of these so-called Medical transportation companies in this area is basically, that they really are only equipped and want to just handle wheelchair pickups. Good luck finding a company who has the ability to execute a stretcher pickup and transport. Unfortunately, I definitely could not recommend AD Medical Transport based solely on two things. The first, is the misrepresentation of the services they provide. Second, is the lackadaisical and unprofessional manner in which my call to them was handled. That's the attitude that doesn't give me much confidence they could handle the job in a professional manner with paying attention to the detail by providing courteous-caring professional transportation of a loved one.

Unfortunately, the workers comp insurance company insists on using this company, so I can't change; otherwise, I would. While the drivers are friendly, very professional and thoughtful, management is anti-patient. You are nothing but a piece of cargo to them. The name of this company would be more fitting if it were PL Transport (Patients Last Transport) instead of PF Transport (Patients First). They cater to the insurance companies and willingly betray your trust by actively working with private investigators and insurance adjusters while pretending to give good customer service to the patient. That must be why the insurance company won't let me use a different company. And, yes, if you are injured at work and unable to return due to your injuring, your employer or the insurance company will most likely hire a private investigator to follow you around for a while, and PF Transport will gladly help them. Safety is an issue as well. Their vans are unsafe, high-mileage vehicles that sway from side to side in lanes of traffic. The steering in at least two of their vans has too much play for the driver to control the vehicle safely. One van has around 200,000 miles on it and another one has over 280,000 miles on the odometer. I believe that if the vans were maintained properly, this may not be an issue, but this company seems to try and get every last mile out of their vans before spending money on proper maintenance. I guess they believe that taking the vans out of service for maintenance will cost them too much business, so they delay the necessary service at the peril of the patients. Tip: Due to the constant swaying back and forth, plan on taking some motion-sickness medication prior to being transported. The straps that they use to secure my wheelchair often loosen up, allowing my wheelchair to tip over when the van makes a turn. This has happened many times, so the driver has to pull over and try to tighten them again, to no avail. I seldom feel safe in their vans and I doubt it is legal for them to use faulty equipment. The majority of employees are from the same church, one that does not celebrate "pagan" holidays, yet management will not allow you to be transported on holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, even though the drivers want to work. If you want to go to a family event on these days, you will have to find another company to take you. This company also discriminates against people with children. They will not transport your family with you, so your spouse and/or children will have to follow you in another vehicle, even if there is room in the van. Imagine having a taxi stop to give you a ride, but as soon as you and your family start to get in the driver says, "Sorry, no children allowed." Using this company will isolate you from your family while you are traveling, which is the last thing that a person with a traumatic injury needs. If you call the company and ask to speak with the owner or a supervisor, they always say that they are not in or not available. If you leave a message for them, they will not call you back. When my case manager called to speak with the owner about being transported to a family gathering on Christmas, the owner refused to speak with him and, instead, had an employee call back to say that he would not make their employees work on Christmas. Keep in mind that two of their drivers had already told me that they wanted to work on Christmas, because they needed the money and they did not celebrate Christmas anyway. We had to get a different company to transport me. When I apologized to the driver and his wife for making them work on Christmas, they said they were happy to do it because they were Jehovah's Witnesses and didn't celebrate Christmas anyway. The owners of PF Transport could learn a thing or two from this other company. Bottom line, until PF Transport starts living up to their name (Patients First), I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

I was impressed that one of them had a registered nurse's experience, and they are both veterans who seem to really take pride in their work.
