This place needs to be shut down. They denied me medical care because I didn't yet have a physical insurance card.

Where do I begin?!! I've already written a review of their entire operation. I had an injury from work and the dr was inaccurate in what he wrote down. I didn't know that until 2 days later when I returned because they said I hadn't followed the orders I was given. I explained that I hadn't been given any orders. She dug through some papers and just about rubbed my face in some papers she just grabbed from the printer. I tried to explain that I had just been there 2 days before and had a message on my phone from their office saying to come back in with any questions or concerns. The receptionist and some other front office person. She told the other person I was just trying to get drugs. They both argued with me and were bully's. Then the 1st receptionist told me they'll see me but I had to "pay up front" I told her the 4th time that this was related to the injury from work. She said I hadn't followed to pay before I could be seen. I left and went to the ER where I got right in, was treated well and was told that he was so glad I came in because I had a blood clot and he set up other appointments With a specialist and an imaging appointment all taking place the very next day. I highly recommend never going here!! Go to the ER a 1/2 mile down the road. If I could give them a negative stars I would. read more

Terrible customer service - wrongly billed and cannot correct it - keep getting billed for the wrong amount despite a letter and messgaes (no one answers a phone). No complaints about the care - except it was pricey but service after that is appalling. read more

Went in for DOT physical that my work was paying for. Should've been in and out but was set up for a regular physical instead that I paid for not knowing that it shouldn't cost anything through my work. Coworker was in doing the same thing and his appointment was set up just fine. Office staff was confused and didn't know what to do. Systems apparently went down while I was waiting. Was sent a link on my phone to fill out paperwork when I wasn't told I would get one. Would've saved me 15 minutes. Took an hour to be seen. Blown away by the experience. Should've been easy 15 minutes but instead it turned out to waste an hour and a half of my day and tick me off pretty dang good. read more

I was the first one in the building and online it said I was the first one to set up an appointment for that day but instead I was met with a long wait time and other people skipping ahead of me even though they came well after me. I don't think I'll return to this urgent care anytime soon update, I was supposed to be 3rd in line and now 5 people have gone ahead of me. read more

They do not have Xray!!!!! The machine has been broke for months. They will see you then send you to another location for an xray. Plus the place is disgusting. read more

I've been to WellNow twice in one week. Once when my daughter had a chronic cough and then later when my elderly mom was in terrible shape with a bad infection. We got in fast and the staff was wonderful in both instances. I have to do a special call out to Dr. Matthew Garno who was so kind, ran tests quickly, checked on my mom (got her crackers, water), gave us great advice and got her a Rx quickly. Great people skills and the nursing staff there is amazing. I would never hesitate to go back. read more

In January their 12-year-old physicians assistant gave me a redundant x-ray (to pad the bill)to send to "specialists" I never heard from, misdiagnosed me, and essentially sent me home to die. I wound up in a REAL hospital for three weeks. Wellnow is the fast food of "healthcare." Go anywhere else. You'd get better medicine from a mob doctor. read more

Be careful when visting this location on Gull road. I went in for a Covid test (my third) in January 2023. Soemhow my visit got coded wrong and I was sent a bill for an office visit. I would give them the benefit of the doubt except they waited three months to bill this so I feel like they were trying to scam me and my insurance company. read more

I went in for the 2nd time in a week because I've been really ill. I had Kelsey H. as a doctor and she was PHENOMENAL I'd ask for her over my own doctor lol. I hope they read these and she knows how nice it is for a doctor to be kind and caring when helping you. She was very thoughtful in finding me the correct medication as well. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The receptionist is an absolute nightmare. Went in for a #drugscreen. Waited a half hour before asking politely when I would be seen. She said, "In just a few minutes." Okay, I decided to ignore the curtness in her voice when she said it. Like I'm asking so much to know what the hold up is. I wait another half hour and ask. "Just a few minutes." I told her that I had been holding it for a while and that I really needed to use the restroom. "Just a few minutes." The third time I asked she finally explained that she didn't have the necessary documents from my employer. At this point she should have gotten another staff member to collect the sample and worry about the paperwork after. Instead she got snippy with me for having the nerve to demand to use the bathroom. It took me TWO HOURS to do this drug screen. If she had told me she was having difficulties getting forms she should have let me know and I would have contacted my employer directly. No one should #Suffer the #pain and #HUMILIATION of holding their piss because an employee is rude and inept. I go back today for another #drugtest for a different company. She tells me I'll be seen in a few minutes after she gets my information in the computer. There is only one client in the waiting room with me. I wait. Ten minutes... I hear the receptionist (I think her name is Allie) chit chatting with a nurse. Twenty minutes. More chit chat. Thirty minutes... THEY ARE STILL TALKING. Thirty five. I've had enough. I asked her, "do you have everything you need to process my information?" She comes back with "yes, it'll be just a moment, there ARE people ahead of you." I only saw one person walk out from the back in the whole time I was #waiting. I was telling my story to a woman at SOS and she said her husband had a bad experience there too. Apparently they forgot about him. Left him in an exam room for an hour and a half and began closing the place down. Save yourself time and trouble. The #Employees at #hometownurgentcare in #kalamazoo are #unprofessional, #uncaring, #inept, #disorganized and #DISRESPECTFUL. #Shame. read more

Where do I begin! Let's start with giving my son who is 4 the dose for an adult in a prescription. Thankfully the pharmacy red flagged it and refused to fill it. Then when I complained it was "Oops" type of explanation. We also experienced lost strep tests which resulted in no antibiotics that were needed and had to seek other medical attention. Well we called ahead to see how long the wait time would be after reading other negative reviews and where informed 30 mins. So we decided to try here instead of having my daughter miss school tomorrow. We walked in on a Sunday at 2:00 my daughters ear was hurting her, the waiting room was empty, I thought great this will be quicker than they said! Nope! Filled out forms and was taken back within 15 minutes, during that time we saw one patient leave. After being weighed and taken to a room the nurse checked my daughters temp, and vitals. Rooms where clean a little rough around the edges but not bad. 40 minutes and still no doctor. Went out to ask nurse saw only two other rooms occupied. Finally doctor comes in and yup ear infection. He was nice but liked to talk a lot after an hour I just want to leave already. Decided antibiotic ear drops where the way to go with a steroid in them for the inflammation. He left the room and we had to wait again for the prescription, why cant we leave if you are just calling it in to our pharmacy? Next time we will just pull her from school. I've had faster wait times at Borgess ER. Update: Doctor said prescription was sent via email to my pharmacy called nope, Meijers said it could be a delay in the doctors email system and to try back in 15 mins. Tried back in 30, still no prescription. Call back to Hometown Care tell person who answered still no prescription she said she would personally call it in for us which thankfully she did and expedited the matter. read more

I decided to go to this urgent care because it was close to my work, even though I've been told to avoid this place. I figured I would decide for myself. When we walked in we stood in a line and the women that greeted us was very unfriendly, uncaring, and you could tell didn't want to be there. Then we waited about 25 minutes, which isn't bad at all, the nurse that took us back was just as happy to be there as the office coordinator:(. When you don't feel good I certainly don't need a mariachi band greeting but maybe a smile or some sort of sign these people actually want to be there would be nice since they're in the profession of caring for others ‍. All that aside I had pneumonia and I got antibiotics and something to help my cough. A few days later I received a text stating if I needed further help to give them a call. The antibiotics had me feeling better but my cough was still just as bad as when I went. So I called in hope for something more. The nurse I got to explain what was going on to was just as friendly as the rest of the staff. I explained my cough was still so bad I couldn't function. I was miserable because of this. she told me she could not help in my search for narcotics. As a person with an autoimmune deficiency I have pneumonia a lot. I just wanted an inhaler so I could breathe. Not narcotics. Maybe the employees there could treat the next person that walks in there horrid facility a little better. NO I didn't need narcotics so to the lady I was speaking to, not everyone is on a hunt for a high just some relief from an ongoing illness. Treat people kind especially if you work at a place where u deal with people who feel crappy. To everyone there I hope your holidays are filled with joy so maybe you can bring it to a few more people in your lives. read more

Seen for a finger injury. All Dr did was look at it. Never touched, treated, or x-rayed. I was in there for less than 10 min and they billed my insurance for $194!! On their website it states $99 for a visit like this, if billed directly to patient. When I called main office they said they would review due to no one notifying me of that option the day I was seen. 2 days later request for $99 charge was denied (big surprise). This is exactly why Insurance cost is astronomical. FRAUD is what it is. Skip this place if at all possible! read more

I arrived at Hometown Urgent Care at 11:00 on a Saturday morning. There were approximately five people ahead of me. A woman who had just been seen came into the waiting room and was saying the doctor talked a lot. That's why such a long wait!! On the bright side at least he was thorough!!!!!!! I knew I was going to need an X-ray and was nervous because the doctor was taking so long, that I decided to leave after waiting an hour and a half and go to the ER. I was in and out of the ER faster than I would have been seen at Hometown Urgent Care. My hand was broken and I have to see a specialist! read more

No issues and I was more than satisfied with this first visit. The wait was about 40 minutes including the usual paper work. The facility was steady with patients, (3-6 patients waiting at any given time). Staff were fine and friendly and the doctor was knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Went here to have my ear checked and staff didn't know how to process the paperwork for walk in and the place seemed generally disorganize. Left before see anyone as it did seem like a professional healthcare organization. read more

This place is the worst don't waste your time going here. The first time I went I had pink eye and I was given any drops to help what so ever even when I asked for them because I work at a daycare and needed to be able to go back to work as soon as possible. The second time I went I was trying to save time because I'm new to the area and don't have a doctor. I KNEW I had strep throat because half of my kids had it at school and I could barely swallow water or eat or sleep. I had body aches and a fever and a horrible headache. I told them all of this and they were aware of my occupation and yet told me to just take Motrin and drink tea and that I could return to work the next day..... I decided to go to the actual hospital after wasting my time and co-pay at Hometown Urgent Care. Within 5 minutes the doctor at the hospital confirmed I had strep throat and gave me a steroid for the pain and starting me on an antibiotic. The doctor at Hometown was rushing me out and wasn't listening to me, if I had returned to work more of my kids would've gotten sick. This place is a joke. read more
