In addition to tellers and bankers who recognize me and say hello every single time I go in for business, this bank offers a really great interest-bearing checking account--a rarity for brick & mortar banks. (This account is so great, in fact, that a competing bank recommended I check out FAB!) Fausto Sarmiento works at El Banco and is wonderful at explaining your account features. (He's also really involved with the local community, as are many FAB employees.) Full disclosure: I am now friends with Fausto, but I got to know him as a customer of FAB, so I feel like this review is fair. I highly, highly recommend that you look at your big, national bank's perks and services and see if FAB/Banco de la Oportunidad can give you a better deal.

Closed it. Cannot even open up to get the 1 cent and 11 cents to bounce back to certify an account. Tried to open another and the same thing. Great giant scarlet X on my name because I was a victim and not the criminal or wealthy. But if you are a regular person and are scammed/hacked, then look out because thy will ruin you. You will be exposed to every hacker on the web. Wide open. Hacked.

The agents have told me everyone complains about it. Any company that would use that on their phone system HATES THEIR CUSTOMERS. Synovus bought out my old bank that I've used for 40 yrs and now I have to switch because half the time there's some type of problem w the ATM.

However, they were extremely incompetent. They couldn't even get our address right after about three completely different attempts. Their website didn't work well, so they had us submit the application and everything in paper form, but their multiple errors required them to completely re-write the loan, so we again filled out dozens of forms. It took them three months to finally back out of the loan. They gave no reason, except a reluctant admission that they didn't know about some of the government regulations on our type of FHA.
