This is not my banking institution but I had used it in the past to loan my best friend some money by depositing it into her account. The first time, I took cash, had her account number; smooth transition including receiving the money the same day. On 9/11/2018, I tried to repeat the exact same transaction. I was told as of May, they no longer accept cash! HUH? I needed to write a personal check ( which would take how many days to clear?) or a money order. I can't tell you the last time I've had to write a check nor do I know where my check book is. I have a bank card; NO, not acceptable. Okay, since I'm here, I thought it would be simple to get a Wells Fargo money order; NOPE! I don't have an account there. This is the single most assisine banking policy I've ever heard of. No CASH accepted at a bank for non member transactions? They have the ability to check my bills to make sure they aren't counterfeit; whether I have an account or not, I should be able to purchase a money order even for a small fee, but NO! Not Wells Fargo! Now, my friend is thinking of changing financial institutions and I really hope she does. This whole experience was an eye opener for both of us and I feel, very unnecessary! Thank God for credit unions! read more
