I was assisted by Jose E who helped me open an account. He was super cordial and explain everything that I needed know. I feel that this is going to be a good relationship over my last bank. On a side note: This branch is super busy and they have multiple new accounts representatives and loan officers that are able to assist and at least four to five tellers on the line. Comerica Failed to Honor Its 4.25% Promotional Rate…read more I opened a Comerica High Yield Money Market Investment account on July 21, 2026, based on a written offer advertising 4.25% APY until January 15, 2027. I met the stated requirements and transferred substantial funds into the account, My August statement reflected 4.25%, but my September statement showed the rate had suddenly been reduced to 0.55%. The promotional letter clearly states "4.25% APY until 1/15/27" and says qualifying rates are fixed until that date. When I questioned the manager, I was told the issue was related to Comerica becoming part of Fifth Third Bank. Despite the manager initially saying he would investigate, I was later told the bank could not restore the promotional rate.

Moreover, their website navigation is horrible; has no help feature/button/selection, even after trying different browsers and devices (Chrome, Safari, FireFox...laptop, desktop, mobile (android/iOS), etc, etc, etc) Although CCFCU's website was very basic, it was at least user-friendly! And the branch manager (man) is useless. When you call the customer service care line you get someone in a different country. Then when you ask to speak with a supervisor the supervisor you do get, laughs at you over the phone and has attitude? Really mechanics bank? What are we 12 years old again? Get a grip on reality. If you have control over someone's finances and you don't allow that person access to their own finances then when they call to ask to speak to a high authority the higher authority laughs over the phone?
