One week later I was back in the shop out of freon...and he claimed the "truck was old", implying it could not be fixed. Went to another mechanic who actually found the leak under a protective hose, repaired it and now all is well. No vehicle is too old to be worked on. Even today we see old Model A's and T's on the road with original motors that are repaired and kept going. These guys are not the guys to go to if you have a problem that needs more than a cursory glance.

They had a lot of other work going on, but they had my tire patched in about 20 minutes. $18 to patch a tire is a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
