My teen is being treated here. As far as the dental work, all seems good. However in terms of the practice, it is not an easy place to work with. Our initial experience wasn't great, getting the first visit scheduled took forever. That should have been my clue. Every appointment since has been very difficult to schedule. When my child is due to be seen, they have one appointment to offer. If that doesn't work, they will suggest something two weeks later. Well that adds two weeks to the treatment time - nobody wants that! Their appointments are only available between 8:20 and 3:20 (and I don't believe they are open on Fridays), so your child will always miss school for this (and you will miss work). Maybe this is a small sacrifice to make, but I wish I had known before we started here or I would likely have gone elsewhere. read more

Dr. Wells just plain ROCKS. He is an orthodontic master! I had a not so good outcome with a general dentist and Invisalign. Dr. Wells was open minded, listened to my story, took me in and was interactive in my treatment which is something I could not find anywhere else. He is thorough and meticulous in care, and has dynamite chair side manner skills! I trust in his care completely. You learn early on that he loves what he does and he often whistles when he works. Dr. Wells is a fantastic orthodontist. My wife and I both started coming to Dr. Wells after she had a horrendous Invisalign experience at her old dentist. Understandably shaken, my wife immediately found Dr. Well's calm and patient demeanor refreshing, and his thoroughness got her out of a dark orthdontic place and into a bright, healthy, well-aligned smile. Dr. Wells is just the most fabulous orthodontist in all the land... well worthy of 6 stars if I could give them! He's genuine, thorough, and truly goes the extra mile to take care of his patients. I had braces for 3.5 years when I was in high school, and my previous orthodontist didn't take near the care that Dr. Wells provides, and his staff are equally as perfect as he is! Their office is conveniently located off Six Forks near 440 and is open Mon-Thurs 8-5 (though Dr. Wells is on-call all the time for emergencies). The office is new, modern, and very clean- they provide Keurig coffee & fruit infused water in the waiting area. They have a 3D panoramic x-ray in office so you don't have to get that done elsewhere. My favorite part about the office is the amazingly beautiful saltwater tank in the middle of the treatment area! I started receiving treatment in October 2014, and the workup was more thorough than I could have ever imagined! Dr. Wells focuses on aligning your jaw to fix your teeth, not just fixing gaps in your teeth. It's made such a difference in my bite, which I didn't even realize I had an issue with. Though I still have braces, I get them off in a few months.. and I must admit I'm really looking forward to the song they all sing when their patients get their braces off :) All in all, I couldn't say enough positive things about Dr. Wells and his staff... when it comes to patient care, they go above and beyond. I was referred to this place by a friend of mine. My first introduction? Free tickets and popcorn to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 at the IMAX. This was before I knew what we were going to do about orthodontics. The staff, including Dr. Wells, was so nice. They did not pander. They were just warm and friendly. And they have been that way ever since. Alice is like a friend; well, she is a friend. And when I'm in there, she and the staff are like that with everyone that comes in. They always talk to the kids as the ones that are being treated, instead of talking over and around them and only to the parents. But they do talk to their parents about the treatment, and the detail is excellent and to point. I had been to several orthodontists and I found Wells to be slightly higher but make sure to compare what you get for the price because I found I got a lot more. But more than that, the user experience is more than just 'you are the customer'. They are beyond that, it is very family-friendly, as in "you are family'. I'm actually a recent transplant from CA. I had JUST begun my orthodontic work when I was presented with an amazing job opportunity that I just couldn't pass up! My orthodontist back home recommended Dr. Wells and I'm really glad they did! They are really taking care of me "well" - pun intended! :) I wouldn't have been so worried about a new orthodontist if it wasn't for the appliance screwed in to the roof of my mouth which is the main reason WHY I got braces! But I'm really happy and satisfied with the service I've received from everyone in the office, not just my encounter with the women who work in the front, but also with all the assistants and Dr. Wells himself. I especially like it here because it reminds me of my old orthodontist's office and it makes me feel like I'm back in CA again. I am taking the time to write a review of Dr. Andrew Wells and everyone at his office. I was the patient, not the typical young person but my dentist said my teeth were moving due to age so I needed braces. Invisalign wouldn't work for my case and I needed standard metal braces. So he sent me to the best Orthodontist in Raleigh. At least I feel that way because how could a practice be better? Dr. Wells is so patient, especially me being the dental phobic person I am. Everyone in his office from Reception to the assistants that help Dr. Wells are amazing. I wore my braces for a little over 2 1/2 years and every visit you are greeted by Reception with a smile and the beautiful office doesn't hurt. Looks like a spa. I can't thank them all enough because I was freaked out about getting them removed thinking it was going to hurt. Dr. Wells knows me really well by this point and was so gentle. I was amazed that I was able to get it done without sedation from my Dentist. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone there. If you find you or your children need braces there is only one choice in my opinion, Dr. Wells is the place to go. I wish I could give 10 stars. And for me to say all of this because my Dentist years ago used to have to sedate me to clean my teeth. So I have come a long way. Dr. Wells practice has been amazing for me and I can't say thank you enough. I will see them again in 2 weeks to get my retainers. Orthodontics are not fun for the child (upkeep, aesthetics, etc.) nor the parent (cost). However, Dr. Wells and his staff do a great job of making the experience as palatable as it can be. Wells Orthodontics is very professional, yet personable with parents and their kids. Their pricing is fair, and they provide payment plans or discounts for upfront payment. Pricing is also convenient; subsequent visits are included in the initial cost so there are no hidden fees or a need to budget for future visits. Dr. Wells and his staff are very kind, caring, and proactive. The icing on the orthodontic cake is the facility. Well's Orthodontics is state-of-the-art, from the orthodontics area to the waiting room (coffee, flat screens, couches, a fireplace, and sometimes even cookies). There may be other orthodontics facilities as good in Raleigh, but you'd be hard-pressed to find one better than Wells. read more
