Attended a wedding here and everything was GORGEOUS inside and out. We had great weather so we were able to spend some time on the patio to take in the view of the golf course. I was in a wedding at the Wellshire and all around the night was incredible. The event space was clean, welcoming and everything went smoothly. My favorite part of the service was one of the barteneders named Mark. He made great drinks and had the best energy around. He made all of us feel welcomed, was cracking jokes, and gave us the burst of energy we needed to get back on to the dance floor! And I just wanted to say what an unbelievably great experience I have two daughters, one sixteen and one twenty who were.So taken by our server mark, who was so friendly and the best personality imaginable and also so attentive. Although the staff was accommodating, this venue provided what our entire table agreed was the WORST banquet meal that we've ever had. There is no excuse. Those of us who ordered the beef were served completely inedible food. None of us could eat the very tough, well done piece of shoe leather that covered the plate along side undercooked (almost raw) vegetables and better prepared mashed potatoes. The salad was an embarrassment. With wilted lettuce, poor quality "store bought" croutons and no other ingredients except the dressing, it provided a mediocre beginning to a mediocre meal. read more

Attended a wedding here. Beautiful decor for the outdoor tent. Chandeliers from the ceiling and chairs placed in rows on each side of the aisle. A few cushions were stained which didn't look good. The set up was nice and there was an event coordinator who went round to check on things. After the ceremony, we retired to the bar area and also could move outside where another bar was set up. Wait staff circulated with hors-d'oeuvres - poached pear with honey, spinach dip and something else. They were ok. Not evenly completed with some having more toppings on the crostini than others. Dinner was served further into the building. Salmon or steak were the choices. The food was average. The veggies on our plate was raw - not sure if by design or not enough time to cook them. The salmon was not seasoned enough and the steak was not tasty. My son wasn't pleased as the ceremony and wait was a bit. There was enough space to set up the DJ and the photo section in the various rooms. Parking can be challenging as it's not a large private lot. Overall a fantastic evening of celebration but not my first choice for food. read more

The Wellshire Event Center is simply the dream wedding venue. It has a beautiful and unique aesthetic, unmatched customer service, and a level of experience and professionalism that is rare to find. Walking out of the tour and detailed consultation with Chris, the Wellshire owner, my then-fiance and I instantly knew we had found THE place. We were honestly shocked that it was even in our price range; it was both a higher quality and lower price than any of our other options. Chris is also super transparent about pricing and does a great, BS-free orientation into everything you need to know for making the important venue decision. From there, we were given an in-house wedding planner, Sarah, included with the package. Sarah embodies everything that makes the Wellshire such a well-oiled machine. She is the consummate professional who has an answer for every question and, critically, the foresight to help us anticipate and plan for every variable. The wedding planning process with Sarah was structured, efficient, and stress-free. When we got to the big day, there wasn't even a fork out of place. Every last detail was accounted for and coordinated without any involvement of the Bride and Groom. This is so important to allow you to focus on the happiness of the day. We've also gotten more compliments than we can count on both the food and bar service. When we think about the best day of our lives, we'll always think of the Wellshire. What a great event venue! I can't say enough about the food and the staff. I was there for a Bar Mitzvah and we had our choice of dinner entree. I had a salmon dish and it was cooked perfectly, great presentation, and the sides that came with it were also delicious. The steaks that other people at my table ordered were also cooked to a perfect medium. There was a loaded tots and nachos bar along with sliders set up for the kids and my son had 2 platefuls! The venue was beautiful from the exposed beams on the ceiling and the golf course surrounding the event center. The bathrooms were very clean, as were the hallways. I may add more her as I think of it, but my husband and I had an AMAZING wedding experience here! Sarah the wedding coordinator is a delight to interact with and very professional - she was on top of everything throughout our entire process, in both planning and execution. The grounds of the event center are beautifully maintained and landscaped - it looks like a fairytale cottage when you first approach the venue. The photo opportunities would never have you thinking that a major roadway is only 20 feet away (the small bridges leading towards the golf course were particularly charming). The character of the building and the antiques showcased in many parts of the interior gave us a lot of room to cut costs on decor, so even on a slightly more modest budget, you can have a truly visually beautiful wedding here. They also offer a more modern tent add-on if you prefer that type of set up for your ceremony. Any staff around when Sarah or the owner were not were super helpful and friendly. The layout is very walkable and for the most part, very accessible (the only complaint I have is that there is no elevator that leads to the bride's dressing suite, but he stairs up to it are only about a half a flight). The bridal suite for getting ready is spacious and absolutely gorgeous, and includes a bathroom, closet with safes, and lots of vanities and natural lighting to do makeup/hair in. The groom's room is much more modest, but includes a TV, and there are complimentary drinks and other refreshments for both rooms while the wedding party gets ready. Outside alcohol is not permitted, as with many venues, but they were courteous enough to fill an outside container for us (a flask that has made it to many other weddings as a family tradition). For dining, no need to deal with a caterer - plated dinner is included with your contract (no large cake service, but they offer tasty dessert bar options). Our tasting experience was seamless and streamlined. The food was incredible, and with the appropriate amount of notice, the kitchen is very amenable to making accommodations for allergies and other dietary restrictions. The venue also offers a wide range of colored linens to customize your tables, so if you are able to find something that works for your theme, there's no need to deal with an outside vendor for those. The only complaint I would have is that some of desserts we selected to be served were a little frozen still (one was a cheesecake and one was a raspberry mousse), but we also ordered a cake from elsewhere, and had other options from the venues that didn't have this issue. The Wellshire Events Center is a beautiful setting for a wedding but we had severe complications with this venue and are unable to give them high ratings. If you are considering using this venue: *Please understand no matter what you hear there will be other events held simultaneously, large banners and signs will be posted in the parking lot with directions to the other events, and there maybe wedding crashers from these events. *Understand that there will likely be disappointments with this venue or promises not delivered (for us it was no Tv monitors for the slideshow that had been provided by the bride and groom) and in discussing it with Chris you will experience a lack of concern or you will be blamed. *Do check the health inspection reports from the city and county of Denver and do know you will be a accused of fabrication and of making a"serious accusation" if you confront this venue about upsetting sightings of rodents. *Do not take alcohol into the bride's or groom's room or it will be taken and not returned. Be sure well intended groomsmen and bridesmaids are aware of this policy as it is not posted anywhere. You, as the bride and groom, will be the only ones aware of this policy. *This is not an inexpensive venue. Wow! We just got married here yesterday and we were so pleased with everything from beginning to end! So many venues expect you to set up and clean up, bring in EVERYTHING you need and were absurdly expensive. The Wellshire is a one stop shop. They provided everything except our DJ and photographer! Our wedding planner (that comes with the venue!!) Sarah R. was so easy to work with and so responsive and so gracious and kind. The staff was so friendly and it's just a beautiful and historical building. And the food was good too! Wedding food is usually pretty forgettable but everything was really good! The Wellshire is a gorgeous, conveniently located venue here in Denver, and we would highly recommend having your wedding there! The space is lovely- it has lots of historic charm, but it has also been very well updated and maintained. We looked at 8 different venues in the Denver area before booking, and this one was by far our favorite. We met with Chris, the owner, and he did a great job explaining everything, answering all of our questions, and talking up the food. Throughout the wedding planning process (including postponing a year due to COVID uncertainties), Kacey was a huge help. As our day-of coordinator, she made sure the planning and our day ran very smoothly. The Wellshire's recommended vendor list was also a huge help. You can use whoever you would like for your vendors, but we chose all of our's from their list (although we did research a lot of other vendors too), and we were so pleased with every single one! The food did not disappoint either- we loved it, and it got lots of compliments from our guests. The Wellshire was the only venue that we looked at that makes their food on-site, and it really showed! We could not have asked for a better venue or wedding! read more

My beautiful daughter's wedding was held here on 8/4/2023. The venue is beautiful and bride and groom were very happy. I, however, can tell you that there were some very unfortunate disappointments. The proprietor promised us delicious food and excellent service. We received neither. We were told that appetizers would be abundant and delicious. They were not. We were also told that every guest would receive a plated meal within minutes of service. They didn't. The food was really good at our tasting. It was not good during the actual event. It took over 40 minutes for all guests to be served and many received cold, overcooked plates. The appetizers were scarce and most of the wedding party didn't even get any. Our wedding planner, Sarah, was great to work with right up to the day of the event. At which point she became complacent and irritable. It was very disorganized! We has guests with no names listed at their table. Leaving them disoriented. Sarah acted as though this was a real inconvenience for her. The staff was rude, most notably the bartender. As an employer, it would have been his last day if he worked for me. In summary, the venue, while beautiful, falls drastically short of all the promises they make early in the process. I organised our work holiday party at the Wellshire. We had it in January which was a great time to have it because we were the only party being held that night. Todd was an absolute pleasure to work with in organising the event, very responsive to emails and easy going. On the night everything went off without a hitch. The venue was set up beautifully, staff were all very friendly & accommodating. And the food was DELICIOUS!! Everyone had a great time and complimented the food. We had the Mt Elbert package - I tried the prime rib and salmon, both to die for. And the eggnog cheesecake bars were very more-ish. My work held a brunch banquet at Wellshire Inn, so this review reflects the banquet portion rather than the restaurant. It was a beautiful venue overlooking the golf course. They set up a white tent for us, allowing us to be at the green outdoors while not getting burned red all over. The poles were decorated with yellow string lights, which kinda reminded me more of high school prom than Christmas. The food buffet was neat in presentation, but mediocre in taste. They did have an omelet station, which was fun, 'cuz I got to put together a large omelet with ham and chorizo and sausage and squash and onions and garlic and cheese and etc. and watch the chef attempt to flip that large thing (kudos to him!). When a server came by with mimosas, she asked everyone at my banquet table for an I.D. I usually don't mind getting carded, but this was in the middle of my boss' speech! If you are looking for an event center for any ceremony this is not the place. The staff is extremely rude and difficult to work with. I went for a wedding here and despite the beautiful scenery the lack of respect from the staff was disappointing. When serving food, the staff lacked any form of customer service. In addition, the food was not good. It lacked salt and season. We continuously needed to alert and ask for things within the hall and often it would never come. The family that booked this event center had a difficult time working with this event center. Being a friend of the bride I witnessed the bride cry for two hours because the owner was threatening to shut it down over miscommunication from them. If you want an event center that truly cares for your event, your family, your happiness this is not the event center. I absolutely love the old world feel of this place. I can't help but wonder if there are a bunch of secret rooms and hidden corridors, it feels so very "Sherlock." The first event I attended here was a wedding. It was some time ago, but I remember they set up the Windsor Room into a chapel-like space, and it was so beautiful. Then there was a cocktail hour in this beautiful receiving room with a fireplace. For the reception, we moved to the adjoining tent. "Tent" sounds chintzy, but it isn't. This nice, white, permanent tent is a great place for an airy summer wedding. And boy, did we have a party ;) More recently, I went to a Saturday morning event for my sorority alumnae group here. We started, again, in the receiving room with passed mimosas that kept coming and coming (they knew their audience well ;). We moved into the Cambridge Room for our event and brunch. The food was delicious. I thought the portions were a little small, and they were a little skimpy on the pastries, but that might've been because of my organization's agreement with the event center. We had quiche, a fruit salad, and an assortment of pastries (the almond croissant was to die for). Overall, it was a lovely brunch. read more

I was a guest at this event and witness something I never witness before. The employees were extremely rude to guest and the family of the bride and groom. Despite the beauty of the place, this place is not worth using due to the lack of respect the workers had. The food at the location was also very terrible. No body at my table was able to eat the food that was made. During the serving time, the employees lacked respected when serving the food to the guest. We continuously were asking for water and drinks and they did not listen or care to ensure the guests were alright. Our wedding was at the Wellshire and was great! Kendra Bowe, our coordinator was outstanding. We worked with her from start to finish and we are very happy with how everything turned out. Kendra was so helpful and her communication was was prompt and professional. There were a few hiccups (as I would assume every wedding would have). One example, there was second person who I assume was Kendra's counterpart during the event. She was not as helpful as Kendra and we experienced a few issues with that individual. We notified the Wellshire of the details. Another small hiccup was when the cake cutting happened, the wait staff did not provide us with the cutting utensils or knew where to place the scored sheet cake. We stood there for a while until on of our guests grabbed us a butter knife. Nothing major, just small things here and there. Overall, the Wellshire is an excellent venue for just about any occasion, but especially a wedding. Just about everything is included in the total price (i.e., linens, tables/chairs, food...which was delicious and plentiful), on-site coordinator, etc. Not to mention the overall beauty of the facility itself, which saves the need for an abundance of extra décor. We reserved the whole venue for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Covid-19 threw a bit of a monkey wrench into things for a minute, but they did a great job adapting to the changes, and helping us to make the necessary adjustments for our big day, which still turned out beautifully! We didn't encounter even one unfriendly person on the staff - everyone was very gracious and professional. Of course, no venue is perfect so, there were some small snafus here and there. Most were just small annoyances which were completely forgivable. One issue, however, was pretty major, and is the primary reason for the 3 star rating that I am giving them here. We had two cakes.....a 3-tier cake, which was our primary cake....the one that was to be served to the guests, and we had a sheet cake, which was an overflow cake, ONLY to be used if the primary cake ran out. Guess which cake the staff decided to serve? Busy mingling and enjoying our reception and guests, we had no idea what had happened until the end of the night, when the coordinator finally brought it to our attention. We ended up having to take our entire 3-tier cake (huge cake) home with us (see pic.) The only slice taken from it was the one that my husband and I cut for the pictures! Having nowhere to store a cake of that size, we spent the next few days cutting up and peddling cake to our friends and family. Not fun at all....and a huge waste of money! So, for future reference, if you should use this venue, you will likely be pleased, but please know that the every single detail...from where certain items should be placed, to how the cake will be served....should be discussed with the coordinator. Don't do what we did and assume that they should know better, considering that they're one of the top wedding venues in the city and that they've done this million times. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you are a non-white person, this is not the wedding venue for you. The service and staff were so rude to us guests and even the bride and groom! As the bride and groom were dancing into the room, one of the staff members started berating the DJ to turn it down (even though it wasn't that loud and also it is not as though they were unaware a wedding was booked and taking place), thus causing a scene for everyone involved. The food was basically inedible. They threatened to shut down the reception, AND on top of that call the cops. Really just awful service and I would not recommend it.  A wedding is just such an important event and something that (hopefully) only happens once in a lifetime. For Wellshire Event Center to have had such awful service during this time was disgusting. The bride and groom already had to sacrifice so much of their ideal wedding because of COVID. It is disheartening to see the treatment the bride, groom, and their guests received on their day. I cannot imagine how they treat people when business is booming or busy. The manager and the staff threatened to cancel the wedding reception I was attending simply because of a "sound ordinance" they were so hostile in addressing this issue. Mind you the music could not be heard outside of the door and there were no complaints from the neighbors. For 90 dollars a plate, the food and the service were garbage. Portion sizes were larger at the sampling. This place basically scammed us. They were very rude to the clients. They did not even try to compromise or prioritize the needs of the client. I have to update my review for the Wellshire after I attended another luncheon yesterday. Instead of chicken, we were served bone-in pork chops stuffed with a delightful goat cheese filling. The pork was cooked perfectly, and maintained the perfect amount of juiciness. The filling was divine. The sauce perfection. The Wellshire staff seemed to have stepped their game up, too. To start of with the false promise their manager, Chris, had assured us pre-covid to the huge disappointments and threats he made on my actual wedding day. Or should I talk about the wedding planner's, Kacey, lack of communication throughout the process. I constantly had to reach out to her to get COVID-19 update and wedding status. Let's just say I planned my entire wedding myself with minimal help and input from her. Complete waste of thousands of dollars. I literally went days without sleep doing tasks we paid this event center to do only to get disrespected on my big day. While my husband and I made our grand entrance, Chris and his staff made a huge scene with my DJ that completely took the attention away from us. As if that wasn't enough, Chris threatened to shut my whole wedding down over volume. Apparently you are not allowed to play loud music at their event center, an important information they will not tell you until your special day. Instead of Chris and my wedding planner, Kacey to handle situation professional and discreetly, they took another outrageous step and called my groom and I off the stage to address the "volume issue."  In addtion, Chris threatened to call the police on a room filled with black and brown people knowing that black and brown people are dying by the hands of the police. Imagine paying big bucks for a perfect day only to have the event center ruin it for you. I was in tears for the rest of the night and no it was not tears of joy.  Not a single apology came from their staff members just a hefty invoice. So if you would like to pay over 20k for crappy service be my guest but if you value your money and truly want to enjoy your day and not end up in tears like I did please choice a different venue. If you value companies not treating their guest (of all colors) with respect do not have your event here. read more

The appetizers, meals ... and alcohol and service were excellent! The small chapel like room was perfect for the wedding and the winterized tent for the reception made for a cozy, intimate setting. Although the venue is beautiful the service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff had a total disregard our brides special day and decided to be disruptive during the ceremony. They ruined the brides entrance into the room and were very unprofessional by disregarding all previous agreements. Nothing was handled through the avenues established (a representative designated to handle communication between the venue and party) Other miscommunications were worse. The staff and venue did not deliver the services they promised throughout the entire event planning process. Our "event coordinator" was inattentive and completely ignored all responsibilities, denied us of any assistance and was unresponsive to any questions and requests while enforcing rules that were never revealed or discussed. Seeing other reviews of people who were able to have flawless events saddens me because I am forced to wonder why we were not afforded the same courtesy as the others in these reviews. Let me start off by saying that this place has a beautiful appearance and food was indeed good. I was the bridesmaid for my brother, and now sister in law, and this place is a not what it seems whatsoever. When we first went on the tour to see this place it was stunning, the décor, the overall feel and the old vintage vibe is romantic. After we went on our tour with Chris (keep in mind there was me, my sister in law, 2 bridesmaids and the bride's mother) and they said there would be no other EVENTS. The day of the wedding, we walk up and there are "Ducks Unlimited" banners near the front door. As we soon started to get ready, we were told there was another event in the main lobby (we were in the tent) and that people would also be entering the same doors as the guests for the wedding. It's funny how you were specifically told that you would not have another event (even though Chris accused us of mishearing). It caused people trying to crash the weddings, the wedding coordinator and manager had their heads up their asses and acted like it wasn't an issue. The reception was beautiful, the food was good I will say that, but after the reception, my boyfriend was locked out of the groomsmen suite and needed to get a bag out of there. When he went into the ceremony room to look for someone who knew the code, he then saw a RAT about a foot long. He is a construction engineer and has a college degree so I can tell you he knows when he sees a rat (even though Chris acted like we were making it up). We made Chris aware and we were accused of having "too much to drink". Please do your research on the department of health's website. It was made aware that they were trying to take care of this issue, even though we were told we were too intoxicated to pass judgment on what he thought was a rat. I wish I was making this up, but in the end my brother got married. There are two bar/restaurant areas of this place. There's the club area that's got an old school feel with a big ole fireplace and curtains like your grandma's house. The other is the golfers pub around the back of the building and is totally casual and low key. Whether your a golfer or not, the golfer pub is a great little laid back place to grab some wings and beers while you're sportin shorts and flip flops. read more

The Wellshire was the perfect place to host our wedding ceremony and reception. The atmosphere was beautiful and the people were wonderful to work with. Even with all of our last minute adjustments, Kendra was over-the-top accommodating. We and all of our family and friends enjoyed everything about it.
