EXTREMELY AWFUL HOSPITAL. I was assaulted and violated during my echo and tilt table. I left there with several bruises all over my breasts. When I stated I was uncomfortable and in SEVERE PAIN I was told to "just be quiet, I am almost finished" the nurses leaned all over my body during the procedures. The procedures in general felt 'rushed' as if the nurses did not want to be there and do their job. I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated, I was not reassured once, I was not informed about the process, I felt as if I was being treated like a criminal in a place that is supposed to show you the most care and comfort. There were at LEAST, 8 different nurses in a room with you, one of them will be playing on their phone while the other is playing around on her Apple Watch, while the other is being trained. We are the practice dummies. These nurses are right out of high school and have absolutely no idea what is going on around them. I would never, EVER recommend anybody to this hospital! I am traumatized, I will never be returning. I will need therapy after my experience at this Ephrata hospital. Please, if you care about your health and body, do not go here, do not send your children here. read more

Awful post surgery results! I became a number post surgery and my breasts are gross! I have 2 different breast, with uneven aeriola size. Follow up visits were rushed, not in the doctor presence for more than 4 minutes, take a stupid picture, see ya! That's what it felt like. I paid cash for my procedure (11, 800) because my insurance does not cover it. Thanks alot Doctor, you know who you are. Maybe a phone call would have been nice seeing that you knew I was unsatisfied and troubled. My divorce is eminent and i will never be able to look at myself, naked, in the mirror again. My breakfast consisted of cold scrambled eggs and a piece of bread not toasted. This is just laziness and a lack of care and compassion to your patients. No ketchup or cream or sugar for the coffee as well. Like how cheap does a hospital have to be? I was in the ER and had to stay overnight and I saw a doctor once and then I was only checked on if I rang the bell. I wasn't even offered a pillow or a blanket when they knew I had to sleep there all night. I do not respect this institution and I will not be coming back. read more

Maybe. Seems like a terrible thing to say about recommending a medical institution, doesn't it? But there it is. I do have to thank the doctors and specialists for saving my life during a month-long battle with a combo of Covid, pneumonia, and blood infection - caused renal failure. Sedated and intubated for 12 days, then recovery and rehab to get mind and body functioning again, it was during this stretch that the issues cropped up, mainly with the nursing aides. When caring for someone who is not only dealing with the physical difficulties and challenges of recovering from a two week coma, but who was disabled beforehand, taking care not to aggravate or even injure the prior disabilities just seems like it would be common sense, one would think. Especially if not only the patient, but the patient's family, and their primary care physician have asked (and warned) you about the issue, you'd think it would not be a daily issue, but there we are. It's very rare that I write a rating, but this was too good not to share. In January 2020, my husband and I had a phenomenal experience with the Labor & Delivery, Maternity Unit, and NICU at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital!!! As a nurse, pilot, and with my first delivery, I was just so blown away by how amazing the staff treated us, how beautiful and clean the facility was, and all of the effort by the staff to make us feel comfortable. I was transferred to the Ephrata for stalled labor after being awake approximately 30 hours. The staff gave me medication to assist me to get some sleep, while progressing my labor. During this time, they brought a reclining chair and cot into the delivery room for my husband and best friend, provided regular updates to my parents along with taking them to a monitor to explain what was going on, and delivered pillows and blankets to the waiting room. My husband and best friend were guided by the staff in how to best support me and be involved in the delivery. The midwives, nurses, and other staff worked to preserve my goal for a regular delivery with minimal site trauma. When we transferred to my maternity room in the middle of the night, the staff already had a reclining chair and cot set up for my husband and best friend. Thankfully I asked our nurse to take the baby since we were exhausted and not safe to care for a newborn. A few hours later our baby had a seizure. The nurse recognized it right away and immediately took him around the corner to the NICU. During my maternity admission and the baby's week long admission in the NICU, we continued to be amazed by the wonderful experience with the pediatricians, nurses, lactation consultants, and staff. The nurse to patient ratio and dedication of the staff facilitated individualized personal care. They all took the time to personally interact with us and provided a wealth of knowledge to set us up for success. In my experience as a nurse, we are stretched severely thin with balancing multiple priorities and often there just isn't enough time to get to know our patients. What we experienced at Ephrata Hospital was truly amazing and life changing. The staff were such a blessing and we are forever appreciative. We will definitely be back for the delivery of our second child! Thank you, Thank you!!! read more
