I just can't say enough.... I reached out to Wellspring searching for the quiet and calm place that I knew was in my mind but in today's busy world I just couldn't get there on my own. Carolyn is an incredible teacher and is so so supportive-- no matter what your struggling with. She provides guided meditation that you get to take home with you. During your session she makes wonderful audio recordings that she then sends you for future use. The recordings include soothing music- can even be of your choosing. When you are done with her session (often 2 plus hours long) you have a sense of peace and accomplishment. Often I feel like I am in a permanent superhero stance! Amazing in every way! I truly can't recommend it enough. Carolyn is so kind and calming; she explains the science and rationale of hypno in a way that really makes sense to my conscious mind, but also eases my subconscious mind in ways that traditional therapy doesn't. I have multiple chronic illnesses. I first saw Carolyn before any diagnoses, when I thought it was all "in my head." First, she fixed my insomnia (which I'd had since early childhood). Then she helped me reduce anxiety and accept whatever symptoms remained. Perhaps most importantly, though, she helped me find self-compassion, which unlocked a lot of healing. Once the diagnoses came, she would "speak" to the cells in my body. I am largely a skeptic in life, but the way she explains this really made a lot of sense to me. Our bodies have innate understanding of what's wrong and how to heal. Even if we consciously can't grasp it, relaxation and visualizing the changes we want to see can help guide the body in righting the wrongs. It especially made sense for my POTS and MCAS diagnoses, as one is the dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system (precisely what we're "speaking" to in hypno) and the other is an over-active immune system. My time in the Wellspring office is some of the most relaxed I've ever felt in my life. The best part, though, is that you get to keep the recordings! I've often thought in therapy sessions "well, this is all well and good, but what about in the middle of the night when I'm alone, in pain, and can't sleep?" -- the recordings make it possible to continue the guided practice whenever you need it! read more

I was referred to Carolyn Lewis when I was pregnant and had a sudden onset of insomnia and anxiety resulting from pregnancy hormones. I had never experienced this before, and I had never sought therapy. Looking for support and coping techniques, my husband and I called Carolyn on a weekend. She answered her phone - on a Saturday - and agreed to see me that evening. This was the first of about 6 sessions that were immensely helpful. Carolyn listened to me, and adapted each hypnotherapy session to meet my needs. She even arranged times to call for evening phone sessions.
