I NEVER YELP review. Ever. I have used this location and the Dallas/Hiram one through 4 children and 2 deliveries. Thank you Dr. LEE and Dr. Green! ( Enjoy your retirement Green! ) Our oldest had her first time "on her own" 18 year old OBGYN appointment today and while I understand she was late because she was lost, there was no need for any of the rude, stale, and dismissive treatment she received. Where I once raved about this location, I will never recommend it to another woman. Especially a young lady. I cannot fathom who in the world is there that would treat another woman who was obviously shaken and discombobulated and YOUNG in a way you wouldn't want your daughters and mothers to be cared for. Shame on you. You could have the educated, emotionally developed leaders that I assumed you would be, but you chose to be lesser than. Much lesser than. Do better. Hopefully the next child who walks through your doors won't have to sit in the parking lot crying about being treated awful in the one place we are most vulnerable and in need of care and support...... I was told doctors needed to review my file to "see if they would be able to take me as a patient." ( I was already being seen by a doctor in this specific healthcare system but was trying to switch doctors.) A few days later I got a called that said I was "declined as a transfer patient." I was not given a explanation. Just kind of told I need to keep doing research to find a new doctor or just stay where I was. (I do appreciate Bridgette Taylor being so sweet and following up with me!) * I wanted so hard to believe in the Wellstar system OB-GYN's but they have really let me down. I dealt with the office in Dallas and Austell. Left messages. No returned calls after ER visits. No follow up care....then I'm "declined as a patient" and unable to transfer to try to get better care. Wow Wellstar I expect more from you!!! I won't be using or recommending you all for OB-GYN care to anyone. read more

Throughout all four of my pregnancies 2019 - present (two miscarriages and two full term), I have received excellent care from South Cobb OB/GYN. Dr. Hall, Dr. Reynolds, and midwives Gina and Emily were so incredibly patient and kind. Whereas other medical professionals seem to glaze over voiced concerns to rush you through your visit, these four especially took time to thoroughly answer my questions and address any concerns. At times (especially around lunch), the wait time was a little longer than I would have liked 20-30 mins, but early morning appointments usually allow for quicker service in my experience. read more

If you get an appointment, make sure you screenshot the confirmation text or email that shows the date & time. Had to go back and forth for 15 mins with the desk because they tried to cancel my appointment that I was 20 mins early to, for being "30 mins late" and threatened to bill me for it. I finally found the confirmation and they realized "their system always makes scheduling errors." Was seen and didn't receive quality care. It was a rushed exam and wasn't thorough at all. We have been going here for a couple months and our daughter will be here by October 4th. I see they have bad reviews from a year back and further back. Review as of the present. The midwives are absolutely wonderful here. They answer any questions you have make sure every need is met while we are here. The doctors are great and so are the receptionist especially the check our desk. Highly recommended. Our favorite out of all the midwives is Whitney Abernathy. They are all excellent but she was great read more

Dr. Francis is nice but the way this establishment is handled is HORRIBLE. Definitely need new management. God forbid you have any serious health issues or concerns they will still schedule you a month or so out with no reminders like other wellstar provider offices. They don't have enough staff to handle the amount of patients they have. The front desk always answer the phone with attitude like they don't want to be there. Having to start over with another obgyn sucks but this place just isn't up to par. read more

After having a horrible couple of experiences else where, it was a relief to find them. If you are new and trying to get accepted or approved to be seen - BE PATIENT. They are a larger facility and it may take a few phone calls or a few days to sort out all the details. I personally spoke to 4 people on 3 different occasions prior to being approved. Once approved though - The staff is absolutely wonderful. Every doctor, physician, & midwife I have seen or spoken to have all been helpful and overall extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend to others. read more

I have been very displeased with my experiences with this practice. The front office staff is polite, but very oblivious, and the nurses and some of the doctors are flat out inconsiderate. I had a miscarriage in May of 2016, and I learned more about what was going on by reading MyChart online than speaking to the nurses and doctors. I went in for my first ultrasound at 11 weeks, and I knew instantly something was wrong, but my husband and I were escorted to the lobby to wait for what felt like an eternity to speak to a midwife. By the time I got back to see her, I was visibly upset, and she asked me what was wrong like not finding a heartbeat in the ultrasound and seeing an empty yolk sack at 11 weeks was no big deal. To make things worse, I had to return on three different visits to confirm that I was having a miscarriage. Each visit, I felt more disheartened as I sat and watched happy pregnant women walk by with their ultrasound pictures while the staff seemed to be oblivious to my heartbreak and took their time to see me and deliver results that obliterated my hopes for a healthy pregnancy. Additionally, I found out that I am pregnant again. I'm currently almost 5 weeks, and I got extremely nervous when I began to spot, so I set an appointment to see a doctor. I have been tracking my cycle and have taken 4 separate at home pregnancy tests that have all come back positive. These tests included different brands and were taken on four separate days, but the urine test I took in the office failed to return a positive result, so the doctor disregarded my concerns and is waiting for my blood results. Meanwhile, she completely ignored my concerns about the spotting. I'm a very educated person. I have a Master's degree in business, and I am absolutely appalled that I was dismissed so quickly. I would think that after going through a miscarriage a few months ago that a doctor would at least listen to my concerns with a little respect and common decency. When I went home, I began searching online for women with similar experiences, and I discovered that this happens quite regularly, and that the urine tests completed in the doctor's offices are not as accurate as I once thought, but when I asked the nurse if this happens sometimes, she dismissed me as if I were an ignorant child. I will be finding another OBGYN to see immediately. read more

I have received exceptional, top-notch care by the team at South Cobb ob-gyn. Dr. Francis, Dr. Hall, Susan Olsen, Maggie- they have all been wonderful as I navigate through my first pregnancy. I've had a few scares, including a trip to the ER, and this group of professionals has been kind and patient, including fitting me in for next day appointments to talk me down from the ledge. Making an obgyn appointment? Yeah right more like been given the run around for 2 days and being told you would be called back to make an appointment and they don't call you back at all when they said they would and when YOU have to call back they now say they can't find you in the System? And then you leave voice mails and don't hear anything back. So here I am visiting family, because my husband is getting ready to deploy and I have to stress even more about probably having to get my referral switched somewhere else which takes at least a week and a half and also finding a doctor that can actually meet my needs enough to at least get a call back and make an appointment. If you want an office that actually cares to be on top of their shit for their kids and parents don't go here, wish I could rate zero stars. read more

I am SO sick of NOT being able to get an appointment with this location. I pay EXTRA insurance because my doctor is on staff with these people. It takes months, and months and months, and months to get a simple annual appointment. I never got an appointment last year and the year before, I had to settle for the P.A. At the time of this posting, I was literally on the phone to get thru to their appointment line. Finally someone answered after 5-minutes and now tells me that even though it's JUNE, my doctor is not available until SEPTEMBER and even now...it's too early for me to schedule for September...!! My experience here was poor at best. Which saddened me because my bestie had such a good experience. My depression was written off as "this is just what we do for our children" and I was told to get off all my meds ASAP. Not taper. Not get an opinion from a doctor. Just come off if I wanted my baby to live. I did taper off (because I've been on meds for years and know you have to), and I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks. They told me a different heartbeat than was on my online summary. And "patient was told everything" was put on the summary, but they never informed me of my bleed. I also came in for blood testing, and they didn't bother to tell me until after I got there because I was overweight I wasn't allowed to have it yet. After my miscarriage I met with a doctor in the Austell office who had arthritis in her hands and complained my firm handshake hurt her, but wanted to perform my D&C (bad hands + surgeon just seems like a bad idea). I ended up miscarrying before it happened, and I was asked to come in for a follow up where they did nothing but make us wait two and a half hours next to happy pregnant people gushing over ultrasounds to simply have the nurse midwife give me a heartfelt apology, not even look at the "products of conception" I brought in, and tell me they didn't do testing but she could "dispose of it for me." She was however the only person who answered any questions or showed any sympathy. So I was grateful to her. She did later explain that it just wasn't office policy to do testing or ultrasounds on those who had miscarried. And they were understaffed that day. I nurse midwives were all quite good, but they office as a whole was awful. Then they simply had me take a blood test. 2.5 for wait for a simple blood test. The nurse who had taken my vitals was far too busy worrying about where she wanted to go to lunch and gossiping with her friends to show an ounce of sympathy to a woman who had given birth to her baby at11 weeks at home alone. If it was JUST the nurse midwives I would consider going back. But they really need a better system for those who've had miscarriages than to wait for hours in a room with happy pregnant people. And need to teach their staff how to be polite, kind, and professional. Each visit I had at least one thing go wrong that made me question the practice. And by the end, I was done with them. read more

Horrible. If you want an office that cares more about the construction going on than the patients concerns, this is the office for you. Expressed concerns that were not addressed, brushed off because it was an early pregnancy. Ended up in the ER 3 days later where concerns were actually taken seriously, hello hospital bill. Had red flags with bloodwork, never given a call until a specialist called three weeks later to see why I hadn't called to schedule an in depth appointment. Probably because I was never made aware that my bloodwork had red flags. When this was brought to the offices attention because I called to have my results explained to me I was told by the midwife that she would note in my chart to "do better" and that I "should have definitely received a call" I was told the practice manager would call me but she didn't because she was tied up in meetings about construction. A joke. Appointments lasted 5 minutes, three of them were about the what? You guessed it, construction. They do not take patient concerns or care seriously at all. I've switched to an office that cares more about their patient than the color of their office walls. read more

The doctors are great, but the supporting staff which you will be dealing with a lot more often is highly unprofessional!! I have been a patient here for 2 years. After my 1st pap exam, I was told that not enough cells were collected for an accurate result. However, my insurance was still charged! This time I've waited forever to receive the test results (it's been a month so far), left messages that were never returned, even after going to the office I was told that they were short staffed so no one would be able to speak to me. Also, even though I spoke to the NP about an ongoing issue, I was told I would have to come back in for another appointment before she would prescribe another course of action. It has only been a few weeks since I was in the last time. At the end of the day it seems like the bottom line is more important than patient care here. I will be finding another OB/GYN ASAP. read more

There is no Doctor at South Cobb that has arthritis. Perhaps the reviewer is confused because there is a practice in the area with a similar name. My experience as a patient has been wonderful. I see Dr. Hall and she always goes above and beyond. I'm sorry these other ladies had bad experiences and I'm truly sorry for their losses. My experience was completely wonderful. read more

This is the worst doctor's office I have ever been to. Most of the staff are rude, not friendly. The wait time is horrible. And they give the same excuse every time I complain about waiting for so long...''The doctor is running behind''. I am 37 weeks pregnant and they have treated me twice for something I did not have. No culture was taken (I had no knowledge of this until after both treatments) and now they want me to come back a third time to give a culture. Hopefully I will finally have a proper diagnosis and receive proper treatment. I would find another doctor, but I'm too far along in my pregnancy to do so. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH OR THE HEALTH OF YOUR UNBORN! read more

I had 2 of my 3 children with this practice, Dr. Karen Weldon was my doctor not sure if she still there. Also Dr. Sonya Thompson put in the hospital just in time for my son to be born health! Things went okay for the most part until their lab LOST MY BLOOD!!!.... They couldn't give ANY explanation as to HOW this happened, and needless to say I have even spoken to their Labs' assistant manager who promised to call me back with Answers, and NEVER DID! The staff is EXTREMELY incompetent, and very unprofessional. This place is full of broken promises and Beyond Poor client service. Being a first time MOM is stressful enough don't you think? The staff here is NON-REMORSEFUL, NON-SYMPATHETIC, and the best explanation that I was given by the Nurse Practitioner Sara and the Front Desk person Amanda, was to " Find another OBGYN office if I wasn't happy with their care!!!"....UNREAL!...Imagine if they told EVERY patient that, they'd have None!......I also contacted the location to see how I could rate my visit online, but of course the front desk person "didnt know!" This place is horrible! I am 24 weeks and didn't start seeing them until I was 18 weeks. Scheduling appointments is awful, I had to wait 3 weeks for my first appointment then another 3 weeks for an ultrasound. Wait times are horrible. They lost my blood for my labs, so all of them had to be redrawn. The nurse I spoke to when having a problem was very rude. On top of all of that, the front staff gave me the wrong date and time for an appointment so I got up early, drove there, waited 45 minutes to find out my appointment wasn't until the following week then still had to pay for parking. I don't know if I want to deliver my baby with these people after the experiences I have had with them over the last month. read more

I went to South Cobb OBGYN when I was pregnant with my third child. They do not offer VBACs and were very pushy about their position on that. The doctors and midwives were unwilling to even discuss it with me. They also put an extraordinary amount of pressure on me to agree to permanent sterilization at the birth of my third child, telling me how necessary it was. The perinatologist they referred me to did not seem to agree, but once again, South Cobb OBGYN was unwilling to discuss the matter with me in detail, other than just repeatedly telling me it was necessary. I also had several scheduling mix ups while in their care. (They schedule me for an ultrasound late in the day and then the US tech would be off and I'd have to come back. Same with my glucose testing.) The providers seemed very dismissive of all my concerns and were never able to give me anything more than their opinion on anything. (They were never able to point me toward the medical study or statement they were basing their recommendations on.) I do not recommend the practice. read more

4579 South Cobb Dr. Smyrna Ga Wellstar Ob Gyn location is very unprofessional. I have been going for about three months now and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone else. They've messed up appointments and when they do give a time to come you don't get called back til over 30 minutes later. Then they took me out of work for a week and I brought in a paper from my job for for me to return to work. I explained I have to have this paper filled out for me to return to work in three days. They said "ok, we'll call you when it's done". It's the day for me to return to work and my paper still isn't ready. I called and then they tell me it takes 7 to 10 days for them to fill out the paper. I'm very upset a paper that literally takes 2 to 3 minutes to complete and they tell me 7 to 10 days. I told them I could not go back to work without the paper and they don't care. So I have to sit and wait days for them to fill it out and pray I still have a job because these extra days are not excused. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE... read more
