The nursing staff is AMAZING on the Green Tower new section room GLL41 room (i.e. ground floor lower level). However if EVER assigned Team Attending Physician Sara Sambandham, Digimon M Belele Resident or Chinonso Ani Resident be sure they NEVER enter your room AT ALL without 1st requesting a patient advocate in attendance via the Charge Nurse/their Supervisor or however high you have to go if you have to be inpatient at anytime without family/friends present due to circumstances as you will be in for subpar care, many headaches just trying to get treatment/diagnostic testing planned upon admission (36 hours for an approximate 20min MRI one example) & incorrect RX called at discharge not discussed at last encounter!! They may be smart enough to have the MD behind their name BUT certainly DO not belong in a setting treating patients especially an Attending teaching such bad practices to Residents embarking on their career. Her arrogance & lack of consideration of impact of these actions on the rest of the staff, myself & even the outside pharmacy team shows exemplifies what is wrong in our world SELF ABSORBED SUPERIOR attitude without ability to use common since beyond her narrow framework she "trained" without learning to be a well rounded physician with a true desire to care for & improve patients period. Clearly her hypocrite oath was just something said to get that cert, title, power & more than anything $$$ but will never be considered respecting enough of the MD title in actions only paper PERIOD!!!

Bridge crossing from main hospital to ER accross the road.

Large hospital with many specialties. Trauma, Neuro Surgery, Cardiovascular open heart and vascular surgery. The old hospital (Green Tower) needs an entire makeover for the patients and the staff. Their new tower (Blue tower) is much larger but clearly the architects had no input from nursing when creating this addition. Facility is large and has grown poorly for the fucntionaliy of patients, family and staff. They would definitely save your life but its difficult to navigate.

The nurses are not the best. Unprofessional and lack good nursing skills. Some of the nurses are outright rude.

Ask the Community - Wellstar Kennestone Hospital

    Do Wellstar except Medicaid?

Yes! They accept Medicaid, medicare, tricare, etc all the other insurances too and if you work for wellstar health systems they have their own health insurance called wellstar health. Hope this helps.

What floor is pharmacy on at Kennestone?

The retail pharmacy on the main floor also known as second floor. But if you enter from blue tower it is located behind the main desk where a security personnel sits. Ask the desk or any staff member you see.

Does WellStar except Bluecross Blueshield Ins?

Yes, that is what we have.

The lobby was literally empty on a Saturday. My loved one was evaluated immediately and there was a clean room available and staff who checked in frequently. We saw a friendly doctor who actually read the chart. It wasn't cold and we had cable tv to watch. Because it could have been minor or serious, my loved one was fed and given a room in the "Clinical Decision Unit" to sleep in overnight to wait for an MRI. Our room was comfortable and I was able to sleep in a recliner. The staff brought blankets and a pillow. This may sound normal but it's a world away from Emory University Clifton hospital where we paid to park and waited in a freezing lobby crammed with sick people for 15 hours before seeing a doctor. We literally heard people screaming because they were in pain. There were no doctors, a nurse said someone died due to lack of staff, one of the security guards was stabbed in the hand, it was like a horror movie! Even if you called 911 and arrived on a stretcher (which is recommended to fast track service), you'll be lined up stretcher to stretcher to freeze and wait like the rest of us. It took several days and constant checking for an MRI, whether you were admitted to the hospital or not. And I'd still choose Emory Clifton over Decatur or Hillandale.. But now we have a better option. The only area for improvement at St. Joe's would be a cafeteria open on weekends but food delivery is available. We don't always need an ER but when we do, we will go to St. Joseph's. It's worth the drive!

I was assured this dye was different. About 30 minutes after discharge, I developed flushing, burning, and red patches on my arms and returned to the ER. My concerns were initially dismissed, and it wasn't until I showed staff the patches on my arms that I was given Benadryl and sent home. My symptoms continued to worsen, and I ultimately went to Piedmont ER, where I received a thorough evaluation and compassionate care. I left St. Joseph's feeling dismissed and unheard. I would not return.

They treated me professionally and compassionately. My concern is with an organization that appears to prioritize revenue over patients. I came to the emergency room because I believed I was experiencing a medical emergency--not because I had a choice. I left not only grateful for the medical care, but shocked by the charges that followed. As an insured, working American who pays taxes and health insurance premiums, I found it difficult to understand how basic items and routine services could be billed at prices that seem disconnected from reality. Patients don't comparison-shop during emergencies, and they shouldn't be financially punished for seeking care. The standard response is always, "That's just how healthcare works." But those prices are set by people. Leadership chooses the policies that determine what patients are charged. The medical staff earned my appreciation. The billing practices earned this review. I hope the leadership of this organization takes a hard look at whether its financial priorities truly reflect its mission to care for the community.

I just moved from Florida and needed a few forms to register my child into the GA school system. I was able to call and easily schedule my child's appointment over the phone. They did mention to bring any medical records and immunization records to my appointment so I made sure to be prepared. The night before, they called to confirm our appointment and also to make us aware of the price to transfer immunization records ($5) and price for nutrition/dental/vision/hearing ($40). We arrived at 8:01a (opens at 8:00am) and our appointment was scheduled for 8:15am. I walked up the the window "clinical services" and checked in with a very sweet lady who was very helpful. She had me complete a form and provide the immunization records. Thankfully since they were current, she was able to use most of the information and my child only needed to perform a hearing test ($7). The wait wasn't long at all and another sweet lady, Darlene called us back and performed the hearing test. The examination room was very clean. The entire facility was very nice, clean and spacious. They even had a Disney moving playing on a huge flat screen in the waiting room. There was a security guard on duty and he was pleasant as well. They do accept debit/credit cards for payment. Overall wonderful experience and was out in less than 30 minutes.
