10/10 best surgery experience at North Fulton Outpatient Surgery. This was my first surgery so I was very nervous about everything. I knew my surgeon Dr. Frederick which is why I made the decision to do this surgery because I trust him. The rest of my care team was a dream team. Victoria, Christine & Haley all worked well together in getting me settled in the pre-operative room. Christine started my IV & took her time to find a good vein as I have tiny veins. She was able to get my IV started with 1 stick that I barely felt. Victoria answered all my questions and reassured me of all my concerns to make me feel comfortable. I was very nervous about being put to sleep and who my anesthesiologist would be and both Victoria & Christine talked very highly of Dr. Rubio which made me feel more comfortable. I had already met & spoke to Dr. Frederick prior to my surgery day but when he came in the room and my husband & sister was with me I appreciated that he took the time to explain the surgery process to my family and answer all their questions. Dr. Rubio came in the room while Dr. Frederick was there which made the introductory so much better as Dr. Frederick spoke very highly of Dr. Rubio as well. Dr. Rubio had a very welcoming personality. He explained the anesthesia process to my family and I and listened to my concerns. He also spoke highly about the CRNA Sydney that would be with me during the surgery. Then Sydney the CRNA and Bradley the OR nurse entered the room. Sydney explained what she would be doing during my surgery and Bradley went over all my consents. Bradley was very efficient with his paperwork and made sure everything was accurate. Sydney told me that we share birthdays which instantly made me feel so much better because if someone is going to put me to sleep and monitor me there is no one better than a Virgo. At this point I was more comfortable knowing the team I would have in the OR room with me. When I woke up in PACU my eyes opened to Sheryl who I swear was like having my mom, grandmother & aunt all in one person. Every time I called Sheryl's name she was right there by my bedside. I remember holding her soft warm hands every time she was near me. I may have asked her the same questions over & over, I don't remember much but I just remember her being so soft spoken and doing everything to make me feel comfortable and to ease my pain. At one point I remember hearing another patient talking and Sheryl responding to the patient but when I called for Sheryl again she was right there by my bedside. Sheryl made me feel like she was taking care of her own daughter and that I was her only patient. I can't say enough about Sheryl but waking up in a room sleepy, drowsy and in pain having Sheryl there with me made me feel so safe. I was then moved to a post-operative room where Burgundy was taking care of me. I was still in so much pain but Burgundy was very patient with me, helped me get up and cleaned up in the bathroom and helped me feel as comfortable as I could get in the bed. Burgundy was also very informative in my discharge instructions with my family and answered all their questions. The day after my surgery I received a follow up call from Tyler who was checking in to make sure I was recovering well at home. Since I was so drowsy the day before I was able to ask all my follow up questions about my surgery to Tyler during this call. I couldn't have imagined a better surgery experience or dream team to take care of me. Where to start? I had to go there multiple times in the last few months. Was treated so poorly that now I will never ever go back! The first time was for kidney stones. I waited for hours in the waiting room while hold my lower front area in agonizing pain! Was charged a truckload when I never had a room to begin with. The security did nothing to stop people from screaming on their phones, kids from running around. The staff is absolutely the worse! They have no compassion at all and don't care! The second time was for a bad fall when I was pushed at a Christmas tree lighting! I was left unattended for hours while I kept asking for help since my face was killing me and so was my head from the fall. The machines kept beeping and nobody would do anything. I begged for help and NOTHING! I finally removed the IV out of my arm and demanded to leave. I received NO CARE and called 911 from my emergency room for help! How tragic is this? Several nurses were too busy yapping at their station and could not provide basis treatment! This place is a a scam full of lazy staff members with ZERO compassion. I called to complain and was told to speak to someone who is a patient advocate! ANOTHER JOKE! I was supposed to receive an email to share my experience and he could not be bothered. Never received an email! This place should be shut down! I wish I could give it a ZERO! read more

Hands down the best possible experience I have had in a hospital. The whole staff is wonderful. I cannot praise them enough.

Do not go here....Billing is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody that you speak with in customer service can offer any help. I am disgusted at how my account has been handled...Was there in September 2024 and still fighting for thew truth....SAD AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE....One star is too generous.... read more

Before my CT scan at Wellness North Fulton Center, 3000 Hospital Blvd, Roswell, GA 30076, everyone we met was incredibly kind and treated us with respect. The lab technician was great, finding my vein on the first try, and the receptionists walked us through everything. It felt like true healthcare, compassionate and professional. My mom and I were so pleased, she even complimented the staff. However, the experience in the radiology department was the complete opposite, and I found myself questioning whether the same hospital was managing both areas. The first staff member in radiology made my mom feel uncomfortable by pretending not to understand her accent, repeatedly making her repeat words, and then rudely correcting her accent. This was the first instance of discrimination. The staff member also spoke loudly and rudely, causing me anxiety by describing scary side effects of the scan without professionalism or just to frighten me. Her unprofessional approach made the whole experience much more stressful, and I could understand why many patients might be deterred by such behavior. Regardless of the terrible experience, I gave it a try. I was poked 4 times and they couldn't get my veins, meanwhile, the other nicer lab technician was able to get my veins once. The first staff member did her trial, and when she couldn't get it, she had to call another lady she seemed close to (like birds of the same feathers) to try, and in the end, both of them couldn't get my veins. She mentioned something like getting an ultrasound IV, so my mom wanted to get some clarification on how that works because the regular ultrasound we are aware of doesn't involve an IV, which made my mom inquire about how it works. The staff Jenelle, a different race from my mom, immediately replied and yelled at my mom, asking her what type of language she understood, racially implying that my mom doesn't understand English because she had an accent (how rude and racist of her). I was so upset, and my mom was in shock. I immediately told them I'm not going forward with this test at that location, because if you are not comfortable with a patient asking questions, why work in healthcare? people are curious of their health, tests, and treatment procedures. I told the Janelle of how racist, rude, and discriminative she was to my mom, and of-course as unnecessarily proud as she is, she never uttered a single word of apology, but she quickly walked away and couldn't face the reality of what she has done, rather it was another staff member who was apologizing on her behalf at that moment. There was a staff member in the CT scan room with a similar accent to my mom's, and she seemed visibly uncomfortable with the discrimination my mom faced. I hope she's not bullied by her colleagues, and seeing her reaction made me realize how anyone, or their loved ones, can be affected by discrimination. America is a nation built by immigrants, and accents are a part of many people's identities, whether from Asia, Africa, Latin America, or Europe. As a natural-born American, I may not experience discrimination based on accent, but my parents and grandparents may, and many others face the same struggles. This doesn't justify racial mistreatment. After the incident in the CT scan room, I left feeling deeply upset and disturbed. Many people who witnessed or heard about the incident were outraged and couldn't believe such discriminatory behavior came from a healthcare professional. Some encouraged me to report it, and others were so disturbed they likely wouldn't return. They appreciated that I chose to speak up rather than ignore it. This experience showed me how just one unprofessional staff member can damage the reputation of an entire facility. I was deeply traumatized--not just by the racism, but by the fact that it happened in a place meant for healing and safety. It's disturbing that someone like Janelle is allowed to work in healthcare, where empathy should be essential. I hope no other patient goes through what I did, and I stand with others who have suffered similar discrimination, knowing how lasting the emotional impact can be. read more

Nursing staff is excellent but doctors seem to be all over the place. Relative went in with an UTI and was discharged to a rehab center with Covid. I got Covid just visiting the hospital. Need to close the place and give the place a good cleaning. This place needs lots of help. read more

I gave birth here cuz I had to not because I wanted to. I had to have a last minute induction. Luckily I only needed one step of the induction and the natural labor started. However, my LD nurse would respond to every single request I had with: "as soon as you are in labor we will help you." I was in labor and gave birth within 30 minutes and was so confused by her responses. I heard the midwife say while I was pushing and struggling to breathe: "why did she go from 3cm to 9cm and nobody noticed." Be prepared for doing everything on your own. The after care was decent but nothing bad happened to me. Also, the postpartum nurses were a lot more responsive and caring than my LD nurse. The food was awful. They would always forget my spouse's meal and they always brought us cold food. It was very disgusting. The steak dinner they offer was microwaved and smelled funny. I would not rely on their food. The cafeteria even stopped my husband from bringing me hot food at one point and the nurse manager had to get involved. Why would a hospital serve such disgusting food when food is medicine? All this being said if you want a natural birth and you want your wishes followed this is the better hospital to give birth at. They respect your wishes on how to give birth and what you want to do with your baby after baby is born. They do not mistreat you in any way or try to shame you into using medicine or shots. They are the more natural non-intervention hospital. Just don't expect them to understand you know when you are in labor or have good food. read more

Employee review.. Compensation is low and they are not willing to negotiate pay. They do not consider the travel and living expense for the area. I put in a 3 weeks notice for another job that would be in my best interest and they let me go a week prior to my last day. I was a contract worker and not held at my will and can leave at anytime. I stressed the pay and hotel fees to my unit manager as well as staffing agent on several occassions, but nothing was done about it. The only time they offered me more money was after I put in my notice. This should have been done months ago. The only time they want to pay is when it benefits them. read more

Unfortunately, I think your life could be a greater risk by coming here. The lack of communication/coordination and the overall attitude of the staff (I understand you are stressed, lives ARE on the line for patients, families and staff) is very sub par. I'll keep this brief(ish) - my mother was passing a kidney stone, all she needed was fluids (saline), pain management, anti-nausea (stones can cause profuse vomiting) and a drug that helps relax the ureters (Flomax). When I suggested this, calmly and nicely, I was met with defensiveness and passive aggressive behavior (7 hours without saline and defensiveness when, nearly 3 hours after providing saline, it was not dripping/installed incorrectly). "It hasn't been THREE Hours." Ok, 2 hours and 37 minutes - my mistake. Mom has passed a few stones before and it's not a big deal, save the pain and vomiting. The staff not only gave her antibiotics without authorization through her drip (she's highly allergic to several kinds of antibiotics) but they wanted to do surgery recommended a stint. They even mentioned cutting open her back to insert the stint, i.e. full blown, invasive surgery. She declined and they made a big deal about her "refusing treatment." One nurse even made a comment that, "If you're having a stint in your heart, insurance won't cover that." Unpack that statement for a minute - there is so much wrong with that statement, from the dangerous precedent it sets that the staff is unaware of who/what they're treating (her heart? She's got a kidney stone - completely wrong organ) to the fear instilled in patients about the financial burden of care. This place is rife for unnecessary risk, unnecessary procedures, death and malpractice. The parade of incorrect information, bad judgment, filth (the place is unclean) and incompetence was astounding. We got Mom out of there and took her to Emory St. John - she passed the stone within 24 hours and is perfectly fine. Emory had all of her records, eased her pain until the passing of the stone, etc. She was home by 2:30 pm after checking in at 9:00 am. read more

Spent 6 hours in ER and ended up leaving after being told admission would be necessary. Left because it was after midnight and no one could tell us how much longer it would be for the admission. Very concerning that there was only 1 Covid precaution in the ER, which was to wear a mask. Seats were all together and sanitizing of chairs in the 6 hours we were there. Also doctors and nurses were treating people in the lobby so everyone could hear someone's business. The staff seamed very overworked. One triage nurse with a lobby of 15-20 people and she was doing paperwork, starting IVs and discharging patients. The front desk guy after 7 was nice however was eating pizza and chips while helping people. Also when I went to ask him a question he was on his phone, liking posts and never looked up while speaking to me. I get that Covid has made it hard for hospitals and the world in general but the lack of sanitation over 6 hours was appalling. We couldn't even get a wheelchair or a better seat for my mom to elevate her foot so I asked if we could use a lobby table. ‍‍‍ read more

I'm writing on my experience as family member that had surgery. I understand times are tough, but this hospital is managed horribly. Summary: If a hospital is negligent in providing adequate care then the hospital should not agree to performing scheduled surgeries. My family member had colorectal surgery. I can't say if the Hospital Administration is willfully negligent because they refuse to employ (pay) enough staff to properly manage the care of it's patience or if they are just incompetent, but either way it is still negligence. The surgeon was great even good bedside manner. That is the only positive. On the day of surgery: My family member's surgery did not go as planned. It was supposed to be 3 hours and turned into 9 hours. There was little to no communication from the surgery team with updates or reassurance that things were under control. The surgery was scheduled for 3 (THREE) hours *at 5 hours: I get a text message "We're still working" (nothing else) *at 6 hours: I received a call from surgery staff saying "We were almost done, but something happened and we had to go back in" (nothing reassuring) *at 9 hours: Surgeon finds me alone/angry/anxious in the waiting room (I had been alone in the waiting room for almost 4 hours with no information). The surgeon tells me everything and he was visibly disturbed that I had not been updated. Since the surgery: The level of care has been frightening - and you can tell it's how everything is managed. Most of the time the nurses and staff are doing the bare minimum - unless the surgeons/doctors are doing rounds - then all of a sudden everything *Post surgery "care plans" states that patients in surgery recovery need to walk and sit up, but my family member was told "We don't have enough staff to help you" [my family member who just had abdominal surgery can't use a walker, pull an IV rack, and carry a drain devise all at the same time] *Took an HOUR AND A HALF for someone to help my family member to the bathroom. *Meals are delivered late (breakfast was delivered after 10:30 AM) *Completely unsanitary (pics of floors below) This place might seem quiet and under control, but it's a mess. read more

The horrible lady at the nurse's station and the horrible doctor she was talking to completely ignored me as I stood patiently waiting in front of them for them to answer my mom's call light. This hospital is playing hospital. I have many encounters and documentation that is incorrect. Initially, came to ER ( myself and mother at same time received) My situation required CT scan and my mother's also. Mine apparently had no severe issues and discharged. My mother, admitted. No documentation of her initial admission through MyChart (supposedly communication of data). She later was transferred to ICNU bc of apparent brain bleeds and stroke ( never communicating in laymen's terms). ie. per MyChart: literally i have copy/pasted... ::(FINDINGS: Unchanged subdural hemorrhage along the left aspect of the falx cerebri and left tentorial leaflet. Mild associated mass effect with partial development of the cortical sulci without midline shift or herniation. No acute transcortical infarction, new or increasing intracranial hemorrhage, or abnormal mass. No hydrocephalus. Background sequelae of moderate chronic microvascular ischemic change and mild global parenchymal volume loss. Any average person understand? This was not documented until 2 weeks later and transferred to ICNU. Her "team" at this point consisted of Neuro, Pulmonary, Sleep, and Medication. Each team staying within their specialty but each team giving vague explanation of situation. Often leaving out information because that needed to be addressed by other team member of that specialty. Unfortunately her condition was complicated but I was entrusting her to them. I am her only advocate and family member. They gave information but incorrect upon questioning it myself. Data that was entered in MyChart, again, was not in laymen's terms and upon researching terms I did not understand, they were not correct. ie. Per chart again. Mind you, NOTHING was done with her eyes and laymen understanding of cataract surgery. ::The patient is status post lens extraction/cataract surgery. Marrow signal is within normal limits. My mother is still in this hospital and I am sure they are doing their best as human beings but this is a CYA performance. She is old and ill but keep your information correct and clear. read more

ER review. I came in with intestinal problems and pain. They put me in a bed briefly then forced to sit in a chair in the lobby with several other patients for hours. No one ever checked on anyone I saw. Certainly didnt worry about me. I was released in worst shape than when came in. I felt like the doctor hadn't heard a word I said.
